:)
gosh..I was wondering when the Sims 3 review would be posted! :)
I've been hooked since the Sims: Hot Date expansion pack.
Soo *super thumbs up*
I'm horribly addicted to Sims 3.
But I didn't use the money cheat with this one, for the 1st time! It was fun working really hard to buy a TV :P
Waiting around when my sim is sleaping/working is horrible, and the only thing I don't like about the game.
Glitched
It has to be a glitch because the speeds are absolutely dreadful.
I've bitched about this on the s3 EA forums..
The Sims 3 is gay!
Really gay! Instead of setting the relationship between two women or men to "Roommates" or "Friends", you can choose "Wife" or "Husband", I love it! Also, a woman can get pregnant "at random", without the need for a husband or sex (WooHoo in The Sims).
I absolutely love the game. Now when I go back to The Sims 2 I can't believe how I could play it and not get bored. The only thing which sucks terribly in The Sims 3 is the lack of buildings and activity in the public buildings for jobs. The speed was also dreadful at first, but I turned all visual settings to a minimum and now the speed is fine (the visuals didn't get significantly bad, either).
I'm so hooked on the game that I created Rachel Maddow and Susan. I did my best, considering the limitations in Create a Sim.
Great game.
Man, I wish you guys would
Man, I wish you guys would stop mentioning Uncharted 2. It's making me want to buy a ps3 in the worst way. Yes, I am willing to spend £300 to hear Claudia Black's voice every five minutes. God, I miss Farscape.
I had fun with the Sims 3... of course I made my girlfriend and I as sims. I was a rock star and she was a scientist. All I would do was play my guitar while she kept trying to overclock the computer. It was surprisingly true to life.
I finally got round to buying COD: WAW this week as well (on sale! woo!) and it just made me pine after Modern Warfare 2 even more. I blew through the single player in about 6 hours and then I decided to infuriate myself by playing through on veteran... it took me 2 hours to do two levels, lol. I've been replaying Assassin's Creed as well, since I never finished it the first time round and I'm enjoying it much more. The trailer for AC2 looks all kinds of awesome!

COD 5
I played it for the first
I played it for the first time at the weekend with my gf but couldn't really get into it. It reminds me of survival mode in left 4 dead and I'm not a huge fan of that. Is it better with more people?

Far....whatnow?!
Hurray
I didn't comment on last weeks video because i was busy with finals... but on the bright side I am done with school now forever!!!
Awesome Vlog... as usual. I wanted to point out that in the Sims 3 you can have as many of your custom sims in one neighborhood, you can only have 1 dominant or controllable household at a time. So i am pretty sure you can have both families start in the same household... then move... and move one of the families into another house... now you control the new one and the computer controls the old one. I dont know that you can add new sims as you go along... which is stupid on EA's part.
I would suggest you try out lots of different character attributes... my evil genius who is insane is lots of fun to play. (see picture) Being a rockstar was also fun because you dont need to go to work to make money... you can collect $1000+ in tips and signing autographs can reap in the dough as well.
As for the speed thing... I am not sure why they didn't add a button "skip to end of activity" that instantly ends the waiting period.
I am about 95% done with fallout 3 so once i have finished that completely I will switch back to the Sims 3.
Finally... I am thinking about making a game for X-box arcade... any suggestions/requests?
i like the sound of the rain
okay before i forget.. the "dont eat food out of a microwave!" thing was too funny.loved it.
i dont know what it is i just cant get into the idea of sims ...grabbed by the ghoulies, however, seems much more up my alley and i will have to look into trying to find it. for some odd reason it made me want to go back and play "Hugo's House of Horrors" ..until i looked it up on youtube .. i had obviously forgotten how horrorible the graphics were.. i guess everything seems cooler when you are a kid lol
anyway im quite looking forward to this boating demonstration .. i will wait in eager anticipation .. and in the meantime i might just use my detective skills to find you on facebook ... but really now.. i already stalk you guys on here, myspace and twitter.. how much more can you handle ; )
The Sims 3
The Sims 3 is great but i had a lot of problems..crashing was the major one. Now i cannot create a new sim without it crashing on the hair section, which is really annoying. Don't know whats up there. I hate the speed settings too, the 3rd speed option is FAR too slow, its not as fast as the 3rd speed option on The Sims 2.
Also, for those who do not like having to manage their Sims, like you said in four different locations. I assume you mean tending to their needs? Well, there is a cheat were you can drag their needs up to maximum so they don't need to always keep eating or taking a shower. First, get the cheat box up (ctrl, shift and c all at once) type in: testingCheatsenabled true and then when on live mode click whichever needs option and drag it to the far right, it should go back to maximum. That helped me a lot, because before that at one point with my family of 5 i spent more time tending to their needs than actually progressing in the game.
Overall i think The Sims 3 is good, there are a lot of things which annoy me to bits especially the constant crashing, but i think that may be my computer. And the time aspects, but i think they were changed to make it all reflect real life. Love the fact you can explore the entire town though, that's good :)
Also love how all the original families are all young. For example Mortimer Goth and Bella Goth are both young, Bella is still a Bachelor.. and I had no idea she was the sister of Michael Bachelor! And the Broke's, Skip Broke (who was dead in Sims 2) is now a child. It's really interesting to look back at the families in Sims 2's past and previous family! I sound like a geek :P
ha, funny story...kind of...not really
I made a lesbian Sim couple and proceeded to have them fall in love with each other and woohoo (cause all the cool sims are doing it). During the cuddle session that followed, one of them started mumbling their gibberish and I heard their word for baby, which is "nooboo". No, silly little sim, you are not going to have a nooboo now. Sorry. Haha. Doesn't work that way. I thought it was hilarious and pretty sad at the same time.
I love The Sims
I want to buys The Sims 3 badly, but I'm unsure if my laptop can handle it...
Although I bought all the Sims 2 expansion and stuff packs, and it worked pretty well...
Do you guys think The Sims 3 can work on it too? I have no idea about whether I pass the system requirements, I'm computer lingo illiterate.
Help?
=(
Loving Sims 3
I haven't spent much time on it yet 'cause I've finally started Fallout 3 and really got into that (wanted to wait 'till I finished oblivion to start Fallout). The options menu with the edit town and adding new sims to an existing town is a bit odd and confusing, but maybe I should have watched the tutorial thing. I'm loving the traits and being able to wander the town without having wait for it to load etc. I've not been cheatin yet 'cause I wasn't building a house I just wanted to check out the new things the sims could do.
I noticed a while back Eliza Dushku tweeting about a game she's voicing called WET and was wondering when its UK release date is. I googled "WET Eliza Dushku" just as my housemate walked into my room, he then of course called me a perv and I had to explain myself. It looks pretty cool and Ms Dushku's voice is enough reason for me to buy it.
I decided to watch the Fallout 3 review since I've started playing it. The map really is crap but the graphics when on 3rd person don't bother me its kinda like Oblivion and I figure with such a big game its not gonna be perfect. I keep changing from 1st to 3rd person depending what I'm doing since they both have their uses. I ain't got very far and I'm addicted to Buffout already and since I drink to enable me to carry more things its only a matter of time before I'm addicted to alcohol too, I think those touches are really amusing. I also found it funny that you can hire the prostitute in Megaton even if you're a woman. I can see this game taking over my life like oblivion did.

Sims 3
Just listening to the review on The Sims 3 there. I'm a huge fan and have been playing since the very first release but I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in this one.
The Sims 2 was such a phenomenal difference to the first game, the graphics, the aging etc. The Sims 3 is not the big of a difference, I actually think the graphics aren't as great I dunno why I do though. Anyway, I got bored of this game after a week, I never got bored of The Sims 2 or one for that matter. I think if we have the University expanison packs etc it might get better but for now it isnt holding my attention. The speeds are messed up. The fourth one is meant to speed through action but it doesnt thus leaving me desperately looking around the town while my Sims sleep.
Oh and you's mentioned that you cant have two sim families interacting etc but you can. When you are in the edit town mode you click one of the buttons that says change active family and from there you can create a new one or select another family. The only problem with that is you loose all your wishes and opportunities. But they will be in the same town, I currently have three families in the one town interacting.
Sims 3
It is quite a bit of fun; I had a bit of problems with it crashing, but that did mostly stop once the game patch applied.
However, I do miss having all the expansion packs with all the "stuff."
Can't hear
Sound
sims
Me and my cousin preordered at the same time so we got the sims 3 as soon as they released it here and I love it.
I like the fact that the sims can take a general good care of themselves if left alone for awhile. The graphics works fine on my computer but thats only because I recently bought a new one :P No crashes for me with the sims (unlike a certain gta game which I can play for about three hours and then it crashes.. -.-) Anyways, graphics, I think they polished it up a whole lot since the sims2, which gives this one a more smooth feel to it while playing. The waters around town are absolutely beautiful in sunset I must say.
Making sims is fun, it´s actually extremely fun since you get to play around with all sorts of colors in the hair or skin och beard och eyebrows and then pick and choose traits and depending on what traits you choose you get ´em all combined into a very special sim.
My cousin says you can get ghost babies as well? dont know if thats accurate or not or if he meant that ghosts can have babies with other ghosts or with the living or something? O.o
And you can have a lot of your own created sims in the game, the process to get them there is a bit tedious though. They explain it all in the booklet that comes with the game ;) otherwise I believe I went into the change town bit and made new sims and moved em into the town and then changed the active household back to my main sims. changing active household takes away the wishes and stuff on the sims you hop from though so have that in mind.
I think they released a patch which fixed some of the problems with the speed thing.
and no matter how much they give me in a new sims game.. I keep being a tad disappointed that they dont give us more hairstyles :P
I used to get told I'd get
I used to get told I'd get square eyes if I watched the TV too much and I think I actually checked as a kid!
I have to say I'm the same and the Sims is about the only game I will actually cheat on, but it's so worth it! I've played a little on the sims 3 and I have to say although the fact you only have control of one family in one neighbourhood is a pain I love all the little touches they've added in. I also never bought sims 2 so I found it insanely easy compared to the first one! My friend's sister though apparently marathoned it for 7 hours...
I suppose the Sims is also a bit like the L Word because you can delete people out of it at random and make anyone a couple even it it doesnt really make sense!
Liking the prop layout too :) and your dog is very cute.
The closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes, but don't be afraid...
:)
Almost forgot to comment on this one!
I'm loving the sims, even more so now that they released the patch to fix the speeds!
Glad you enjoyed my Cops & Robbers... my girlfriend definitely didn't when she found out I made her a theif! She made me change her to a business woman.. Bette Porter style power suits... i'll take it :) Let me also add I am actually playing the game without the cheats!

Excellent Vlog
Excellent Vlog once again, ladies. Sorry I have been MIA, but I have been traveling the great Midwest for the past 2 1/2 weeks and haven't had much internet access (or xbox access- how terrible is that?)
I have to admit, I am not a sims fan. I tried, many different times to get into it, but it just never held my interest. But my friends that ARE sims fans that have played it- they love it. So I'll take thier (and your) word for it!
I really need to go online and see what is coming out soon- although I hear that Assassins Creed 2 is looking pretty sweet- and along with Han M I need to replay the first one through again.
Good doggie!
My, what a sweet dog Huxley is. Looking forward to the real vs gaming boating. As for watching things cook in the microwave, back in the day when microwave ovens were brand spankin' new and a novelty, the neighborhood kids would bring different food items over to the one house in the hood with a microwave just to watch them cook. The best items were hot dogs and marshmallows. Many years later, some enterprising folks decided to mix microwaves with "PEEPS", (sugar coated marshmallows in various rabbit and chick shapes that invade store shelves during the Easter Holidaze). And thus an internet phenomenon was born. Google "microwave peeps" and enjoy! This short bout of peeps jousting has an Australian theme, sort of.

Microwave safe!
First time commentor :)
On the topic of microwaves, a really good way to test if your microwave is safe and not secretly giving you super powers is to put a cordless phone or mobile mobile phone in your microwave and try ringing it. If it rings, keep an eye out that you don't glow in the dark. The protective mesh on the door of the microwave should actually filter most radiowaves and microwaves out. And watching grapes explode in the microwave is pretty amusing. :)
Being on a very tight budget lately, I've finally tracked down a decently priced copy of Fable to do some not-so old school gaming. I've also managed to dig out my old super nintendo for some Donkey Kong Country action! I'm saving my gold coins(literally! btw, real estate agents don't like it when you pay the rent in coins) for the new Kingdom Hearts game, 358/2 Days, which I hope you guys will review when its finally out.
I'm trying to avoid The Sims 3, when The Sims 2 came out, a bunch of us sat around a computer and created a home with ourselves in it, a Home and Away family, complete with drama, a Neighbours domain, complete with bitch-fights and lesbian storylines, a Sugababe family and a Sugadude family. Every gathering we had, we'd discover that we had somehow either slept with each other, or married into the Kennedy family *le sigh* You don't want to know who ended up getting knocked up by Harold... :(
SIMS 3. Is it worth it?
I have sims and sims 2 and sims dvd...lol. I really dig this game. I'm tired of creating new towns every couple years...and the expexse involved. Updating is cool, but i put a lot of thought into this game. Seems like a scam, kinda....why not update what we alreadt have?Does any one else think the same way? It seems World of Warcraft would be cheaper to play ;P)
