This week, Angela and Tracy barely survive a infestation of crazed zombies to bring you their review of top multi-player game "Left 4 Dead." If you've ever wondered what it's like to be in a movie, this is the game for you.

They also review "SingStar ABBA," "SingStar Disney" and "A Kingdom For Keflings."

Dead Space Episode
Hi there,
we really liked Dead Space, you should definitely get the demo for a look. You can check out more in the Dead Space Episode of Gay Girls Who Game.
Hope that helps.
Killing Zombies!
I enjoyed the Vlog once again this week, ladies. Very nice. And thanks for the shout-outs! Anytime you need help trying out a multiplayer mode of a game, let me know. My Blockbuster Game Pass will love you, since I never know what to rent.
I am not embarrassed or horrified- I thoroughly enjoyed both our threesome and our foursome the next night (and it takes a lot more to embarrass me!) But I agree that the multiplayer mode is way more fun than the single player mode. And this is a game where you can’t turn your back on your teammates, or you end up getting killed by a hunter or a smoker. I also enjoyed the plethora of swear words that were coming out of all of our mouths (including a couple of geeky “fraks”!)
Angela- You don’t suck, although you do tend to shoot your teammates in the back and scare the witch. But it’s all good and love and peace when you game with fellow lesbians. We don’t mind :) Plus you saved my ass a few times.
Tracy- Give in to your evil side and play Fable2 as evil.. it’s so much fun! And I agree, the song list for GHWT wasn’t that great. Just one of the reasons I am picking up Rock Band 2 this Black Friday.
I am a little disturbed you suggested Bratz as a kid game- I find those dolls horrendous and a terrible role models for young girls, and refuse to buy any girls those dolls. Not that I think Barbie is much better, but that’s a much longer conversation and possibly a doctoral dissertation.
Mrs Butterworth called me the matriarch, which I laughed at but now makes me feel like I am 80 years old in a rocking chair. Please note though, that even when I am 80 I will be playing video games….. in a rocking chair.

No I LIKE Fallout 3
You guys misread my post last week. I really like Fallout 3, infact unlike some who shall remain nameless, I don't get bored at all. I'm still only at Megaton but I'm just about ready to go to Rivet City for the survival guide quest. I have a bit of looting to do in preperation though as I don't know what I'll meet on my way and I want to have my kit in tip top shape.
One thing it does better than any RPG I've played (only played a handful even though its become my favorite type of game) is balance the ammo and money so that its hard to have enough and you have to play smart. (I made a rule for myself that I can't quick travel around to get supplies, I can only use Quick travel back home when full up with loot.....that way I can't just quick travel to all the merchants but only go to the ones I can reach on foot.)
Great Job :P
I was so coming into this
I was so coming into this with a question about a review of Mirror's Edge (even though I don't particularly care for 1st person games...it looks cool!) but you answered that you're going to review it. My question still is...is it open ended? Like GTA or Spiderman where you can go looking around the city even if not on a specific task?
Oh and I hang my head in shame for my lack of guitar hero and rockband experience. I must get on that! I *must* "get with the program" (since apparently I look the part with my piercings and all ;-). Which I totally never remember I have until someone mentions it)

Fallout 3
For me, one of the neatest things about Fallout 3 is that I live here and it's really exciting (in a dorky way) finding places I've been. It does give me a bit of an advantage perhaps when it comes to the maps. I was thinking about the comments last week about the maps and wondering why I had not had a problem with them when I thought, well, I know the general direction of most every Metro and landmark.
Looking at the map, I think it may extend out to where I live -- I think tonight I may just head that way to see. It is different from the current DC Metro system though, a lot of the station names have been changed and stuff. Makes it more interesting though.
Honestly, I still haven't been able to get into Fable 2. I have played quite a bit, and it's fun, but I find some of the quests tedious.

There's no debate
Thank you ladies.
Thank you ladies.
Your help and input are much appreciated. If you do discover any really good adventure/rpg WII games I would LOVE to hear about them.
Symphonia looks cool but from the videos i've seen the voices might bother me. I've always been a person who watches things in there original language with subs. Dubs just don't sit right with me.
Left for dead looks ridiculously awesome and made for me! I guess I have another game to buy once i get my xbox360.
Yesterday I was looking for the demo of Left 4 Dead (which I couldn’t find) and it ended up giving me (awesome) zombie nightmares. They were polka dotted zombies though....totally weird.
-Oh look, I'm in your community, joinin' in on stuff!-
This link might help....
http://wii.rpgsite.net/. Hey, you're right, there aren't that many adventure or RPGs for the Wii. I would have thought there would be more than 2 Final Fantasy games for this console. There ought to be more. The Wii would be PERFECT for both these genres!
happy thanksgiving!
Tracy, your zombie imitation is the most spectacular and realistic thing that I have ever seen. It replaces the newbie dance as my favorite. I think for your Christmas Spectacular episode you should just do the zombie for the entire episode ... perhaps while wearing a santa hat or an elf outfit. (Feel free to use that idea - I don't have it copy-written or anything ........... you're welcome!)
Anyway, (per the usual) I don't have anything insightful to say this week - so it is probably good that you guys don't remember most of what I write from week to week anyway!
Happy American Thanksgiving, my friends!
oh hey, and that reminds me - did you guys see the Sarah Palin interview where the turkeys are being killed in the background? I don't know if that made the international news ... I know you guys are huge fans of hers so check it out on YouTube if you didn't see it. Nothing says Happy Thanksgiving like this video!
Man, I need to get Left 4
Man, I need to get Left 4 Dead. My girlfriend watched with me this week and she wants it as well, even though she doesn't have an xbox, and is not really all that much of a gamer, lol. You really sold it! I only have two xbox live friends though so if anyone else has Left 4 Dead and is looking for people to play with my gamertag is HebeHan :D (Notice how subtly I slipped that in there?)
Looking forward to the Mirror's Edge review, I really liked the demo. I really want that keflings game as well. I used to love the settlers/age of empires when I was a kid and it looks like a cartoony version of that.
I read the xbox dash update article thingy on the site, very cool run down. The more I use it the more I like it. It reminds me of the vista media centre, which I guess is the point since I assume MS are pushing the whole 'use your xbox as a media extender!' thing.
...I think I need to stop leaving epic comments.

Lets face it L4D is an awesome co-op game. Although, I don't own the 360 version (PC Gaming FTW) just the idea of screaming your head off with a bunch of other strangers or friends makes L4D a good purchase.
If any one plays on Steam look me up: Dontkillscoop and it is also the same on Xbox Live (Dontkillscoop).

I’m being tongued to death
I just wanted to say that watching your blog on my super cute Acer Aspire One on a flight from Launceston to Sydney just about saved my life. Kept me fully entertained and stopped my head from exploding with boredom. Netbook + Bose Headphones + GGWG = Awesomeness
I’m currently playing Far Cry 2 (review? Review? Bueller? Bueller?) and LittleBigPlanet alternatively. The combination of the two is doing my head in a little, but one must keep oneself amused whilst patiently waiting for the magnificence of Tomb Raider Underworld to appear in the stores, in my hand, then in my console.
I loved your passionate review of Left 4 Dead. THAT is exactly why I play games. Fun as! I’m ignoring the fact that I am still not an Xbox 360 owner and now I can’t play that or Fable II. Sigh.
Is Prince of Persia on your radar for games to review? I’m surprised that this is not (that I know of) being released on the Wii.
Left 4 Dead looks zombilicious!
Wait .. what?!?!!
Only three more episodes??????
*cries*
Ladies.. I've come out of my current self-imposed break from this site because of your lovely shoutout and overlay...oh I feel a blush coming from all your compliments!
*blush*
Of course I'm a cunning linguist *cough blush cough* Sure thing I've now blended into the English population...like a chameleon I can disguise my native German-ness *cue evil laughter*... and oh I'm delighted to be labled posh...ahem...but I'm afraid that Angela is right, it's more of a northern English twang I've taken on in those 7 years I've been here now (you Aussies know a lot about English accents..crikey...now who's the cunning linguist ;D)
On a more gaming related note: CONFESSION: what is guitar hero?
Only kidding.. but I'm with Alisha...never played it on either platform.. never played Rockband either...and unless a Sugar Mama is dropping out of my Santa stocking I will remain a GH and RB virgin. My fingers and thumbs are currently otherwise occupied....eeerrrrr nooooo...not what you think *tsk tsk tsk*!!! Who's the dirty dirty dawg now? I of course am referring to Mario Kart on the DS light...too much fun...but I fear for a right hand thumb carpal tunnel syndrom soon...
As usual.. great vlog...looking forward to the next
shoutoutissue ;DKeep up the great work ladies!

hello ladies
I'm a first time poster but have seen all your vlogs. Enjoy them much. I currently have a Wii & a 360. I was really excited for your reivew of Left 4 Dead and you didn't disappoint. I'm a huge Valve fan. I actually have one of the stuffed animal headcrabs from Half Life 2 sitting nearby. I was really excited about the game... but have forced myself to postpone the purchase for two reasons. The first being that in the last couple of weeks, I have finished Bioshock, started Mirror's Edge (looking forward to next week), and am on my second go thru (trying to be evil this time) on Fable 2. I also just bought the Rock Band 2 bundle about a month ago so i'm still playing that... my gaming schedule is frightening. The 2nd reason is that although i LOVED the demo, I had a massive problem finding decent people to play with, I'm talking about the random people on XBox Live. I would always get paired with maybe one other person who actually wanted to play, the others would either walk around shooting things in the house, or worse even shoot me. I'm actually rather new to Xbox LIve although i've had my xbox for a while. Do you guys find that this is a problem with other games as well? What do you suggest? Should i just wait for all the demo limits to be reached and then only the serious players remain? I have the orange box but have yet to try Team Fortress 2 because of the same reasons.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
My gamertag is misajingles - same as it is on here... and i'm always up for gaming.
So Unfair
I'm going out of town again, and now there are even MORE games I want to play :( Also, I feel guilty as I look at my pile of unfinished or even unplayed games. I want to play Left 4 Dead because zombies+killing zombies = fun, but I still have so many games to finish...or start and finish. Maybe I'll just play Fable 2 some more. I still have to buy all the houses I can, and finish the quests, and some new content is coming out and so on.
So after struggling against my better nature, I was finally able to get back to being evil in Fable. I just had to make some rules, and if a townsperson broke them, then they die.
My rules are: If you block my forward momentum in anyway, If you interrupt alone time with my wife, If you say mean things to my puppy, If you have a tophat, scarf, and heart over your head, If you have a building I want to purchase and finally, If the assassins asked me too.
Made it sooo much easier :D I think I look prettier with the horns.
Thx
Thx for offer to play online together. I think a GOLD membership might just be worth it if I cold play A ZOMBIE !! I don't even care if it is a girl or boy zombie.
I'm Playing Fable 2 and I feel like I'm running in circles. I feel frustrated being good, so I think I will have to follow Thunderpants example and go EVIL. I Don't know how to lose all the weight my character has gained. I finally lost my virginity, but it was to a male villager ... so it wasn't too fun.
Since I considered myself an Angela Gamer before ... does that mean I'm a Shelby Gamer now (with Angela's name change) !?!?! :0
head spin in 360
you guys really make me wanna get a 360 now. but since my wii is barely a month old, i'll be waiting for your wii reviews. :D
thanks for the mention!! glad you change your review on it (though hopefully world tour improve on their downloadable songs). it will be more than perfect if they have better song selection. i have but never played singstar before though. my ps2 doesnt seem to recognize my mic. anyway, great reviews. keep 'em coming!!
WOW!!
Thank you both so much for the many suggestions for the DS games for kids!! I'll check out the reviews. The combination of looking at many DS games, hearing reviews from you guys and the X'mas sale on the DS console, I decided to get one for myself! :D I got a black one too (if memory serves me right, Tracy's is black. Does this make me a Tracy gamer? :P). I really should start getting royalties from Nintendo. LOL.
Love this vlog. It didn't feel long, as you guys made me laugh. Friendly fire - yep, I'm guilty of it :D
Finally
The fun has arrived :P. Midterms are over and break is upon me. Gears of war is friggen amazing the campaign alone is so amazing. I'm working my way through insane mode atm >>. I rented Mirror's Edge, its an odd game, , you like run around hopping from rooftop to rooftop and stuffs, really fun at first, kind of gets old.. but its kinda nifty how you can pull a trinity and jump backwards off a building madly shooting.
Happy gaming XD
zombies? *shivers*
I'm still not over the slow zombies in the first resident evil, from something like 15 years ago, which i couldn't play in the dark. So now that the zombies seem to be high on coffeine, i'm defintly not playing! Yeap, I'm a sissy :-p
I actually have a question (which i'm guessing the answer remembering the halloween episod...), my 5 years old niece is found of the Littlest Pet Shop, therefor she wants it on the DS. Considering her age will she be able to play by herself and can she enjoy it? Because based on the review it seems to be ....well let's put it this way.... bad.
Great vlog ladies, be well.
Everything with passion, nothing with talent...
Pet Shop
Left 4 Dead looks like it
Left 4 Dead looks like it could be fun.. I liked the clip you showed. It gave me a good feel for the game play and what you will be primarily doing during the game :) It's quite the coincidence that you guys review this, as i've been looking for a good multiplayer co-op game to play. Any other suggestions aside from Left 4 Dead?
I also share Tristans fear of xbox live.. except as I just got my xbox a month or so ago, and don't have the wireless adapter and don't want to run 100 ft of cable, i've never even been on live once. I'm starting to think I should get around to that
Oh and as for the drink in my picture.. it was a New Years Eve mistake. It looks much better than it tasted!
Just FYI
For going wireless ..... I got a router called NETGEAR. It was pretty easy to set up and got an extender for my Xbox. When I had a problem getting my router to work properly, I just called the 800 number Netgear provided, and they talked me through it. Not all routers are easy to set up. Be sure to talk to someone WHO KNOWS routers. I bought one that did not work or was too difficult to set up (the cheap one) so I took it back and talked to someone who recommend this on to me. I also have a laptop and can use it in any room in the house.
Looks like I will be jumping onto the GOLD bandwagon on Xbox soon. You should join the lesbian bandwagan. Even if you don't go gold, there are lots of arcade games you can download on Xbox Live using the free silver membership. I love playing some of them. Also, I think you get 1 month free on GOLD when you buy an Xbox. Eventhough, you have had your box for awhile now, the ticker for the 1 month gold membership does not start till you sign on for the first time. And you get to create cute avatars.

Good review
Lifetime gamer, but first time commenter just catching up on the past shows now, so go easy ;)
I was actually disappointed with Fable 2. It did have a lot to do, but you could do it so quickly and easily that it lost some of the fun. The main quest was shorter than the original Fable, I thought - either that or easier. A difficulty slider might have meant I'd play it more, but as it is I finished the main quest then didn't feel like playing on, or even starting again. For all Peter Molyneux hyped the game, it left me feeling like it was Dennis Dyack/Too Human all over again - much hyped, poor product.
Fallout 3, I'm torn on. I'm still a massive fan of the original Fallout & Fallout 2 from back when they were made by Black Isle, with their turn-based, 2d view. It just felt like there was a lot more character to the games, it had a lot more dark humor. Fallout 3 has its moments, notably in the 'Tranquility Lane' quest, but it can't touch the originals. Another thing was the level cap, which reeaalllly annoyed me, because there's so much in the game to put you well above that. I still like it, but I hope the announced DLC released early next year will improve on it.
I'm not sold on Left4Dead, it looks like fun but I like games to have a solid single player as well as multi, and I'm hearing the single for that is kind of lacking. Course that's not the main purpose of the game so... Dead Rising promised zombie fun as well and that was just... awful.
Anyone who wants a friendly game of anything on XBL, my gamertag is 'azondahi'. I'm around for a couple of hours or more a day, and if I've got the game I'm happy to play with anyone. Same username for PSN as well, but I have far less games for that.
Question? Do you guys review console only, or do you do pc as well?
I agree
I thought the main quest in Fable 2 was short and easy, but that's why I spent most of my time in the side quests and attempting to get a wife in every town. I was pretty dissapointed in the final "fight" for Fable 2. Not much of a challenge.

J'adore
I just had to say that i <3 you both for not promoting gender specific games and perpetuating gender stereotypes by dressing little girls in pink. You so fucking rock! .. :D and also I think its quite fantastic that you have morals and feel guilty about being evil in Fable lol
Awesome as always.

It feels like Christmas already....
I can't sleep as I'm going to buy my xbox in the morning and I'm too excited.
Another great show, not sure that I'll get to 'left for dead' just yet as I'm too pumped that I'll finally get to play Fable, plus my combo buy comes with Tomb raider as well so I have enough to work through, but I'm adding it to my to-do list!!
I'll be on the scrounge for little xbox buddies once I have my account set up so be prepared.
Loved your newbie dance btw.
look forward to the next vlog
I do have my new
I do have my new laptop, thank you for asking, and I love it to a slightly innapropriate degree.
I was planning to get Fallout 3 for it, but I've been reading that the PC version is quite buggy, so now I'm a bit hesitant.
I am however going to borrow Bioshock from my cousin, and probably buy Mass Effect. I generally prefer consoles for any games that aren't sims or strategy, but it's a financial issue now.
The main pleasure however has being playing The Sims 2, which I forced my poor old dinosaur of a laptop to run. I used to sit down with a book when I played it because of the insanely long loading times, but now it's so fast that the game occasionally gets away from me.
Quick Mass Effect tip: If
Quick Mass Effect tip: If you're getting it for the PC, there's a mod you can do that lets the female main character sleep with the human girl instead of the boy. It basically changes the whole love story bit. If you google it I'm sure you'll find it. :D
Also Bioshock has some craptacular copy protection in it, but once you get past that and have it installed it's an amazing game.
www.myspace.com/stopstartstall - acousticy music type stuff.
Bioshock
Bioshock is alright now with protection, you still have to activate online but 2K (the developers), removed the limit to installs after so many complaints. Brilliant game, hope you enjoy it on the new laptop :D
Fallout 3 - I have that on pc (for mods) and 360, it definitely looks better on the pc. Not had any problems running it yet, but most of the problems - broken quests etc - are solved by reloading an earlier save. So I guess if you bought it on PC, you should save often, maybe before each main quest or whatever, so if it does mess up you don't lose hours of playtime, which is what I've been doing.
Han M is right about the mod, makes it more interesting ;) Getting Mass Effect for the pc also has an added bonus, the extra content 'Bring Down The Sky' is free to download on the pc, but costs something like 400 MS points on XBL.
I desperately want it...
Left 4 Dead is on the list of "to gets" along with Infinite Undiscovery for xbox360. I used to be very anti-xbox, but I'm liking my 360 far better than my Wii. Nintendo is simply not making titles that appeal to me. I'm major into RPGs and survival horror, and right now, they're still trying to figure out how best to get the Wiimote to work with that type of stuff successfully.
Someone asked about Dead Space. I was going to buy it, but had a weird feeling, so I rented it instead. Sure enough, everything is great about it except one minor (MAJOR) detail: the interactive menus are tinie tiny and a bugger to get a close up on. Add to that they're in shades of green that blend in, so it looks blurry and impossibly hard to read. Considering the menu is what tells you what to do and how to do it, unless you have a HUGE screen, I don't recommend it.
Mirrors Edge is pretty
Mirrors Edge is pretty wicked, i wasnt that fussed about getting it but i figured id give it a go after downloading the demo. Its an amazing game, although i found the story mode is way too short (think it took about 2days to complete as it only has 9 chapters) but its still amazing.
I got Tomb Raider which is obv amazing, the graphics are stunning and the gameplays pretty cool, i also got Need For Speed Undercover and what a lot of crap that is, its soooooooo easy you win every race by at least 10 seconds, the only good thing is the cut scenes with live action.
Prince Of Persia this week woohoo im pretty excited.
Oh and my guitar hero yes the second drum kit i exchanged still has a fault, sent away for the midi cable coz i watched both the youtube thing about the tape and the actual demo thing on the guitarhero website thingy and with the midi cable you can actually make your drums more/less sensitive and as the green is not sensitive enough i figured that was the best way to go.
No longer MIA!!!
Hey ladies! Sorry that I have been MIA for a while. With school and work it was pretty hard to keep up with anything else. Now that black friday is done at work I should be a regular again.
What a coincidence that I caught up to you guys with my shout out at the beginning of this vlog! :) The reviews have been great while I have been gone(caught up thanksgiving day). I even got a little gaming in while I was gone... Finally bought a 360 and finished Fable 2! Woot! I started the Keflings after I updated to the xbox experience and finished that sucker in 2 five hour sittings. That game is totally addicting! It also helped me relieve some stress from work. I also got in on the Playstation Home Beta and have been playing with that a little. Seems decent to far. Anyways check me out on LIVE, my ID is sweettalentdone... like it could be anything else. Yeah I pulled an 11 hr shift
Yay! I also pretty much
Yay! I also pretty much suck at games :D
I have fun with them but ain't gonna win any prizes. I'm a run-in-with-guns-blazin type. I think that's why I'm loving Mass Effect still, cos even on the difficult setting I'm not dying for my impatience :p
Also, playing evil...can be fun, but can defo be hard :p
I tend to go through stuff with my own morals first, then try the evil thing. I do have to admit to not being able to be evil to my Sims, though. I made one pee herself once and felt very bad :/
Let's hope more good games come out on the Wii. Yeah, it's a great party/company console, but to really get your money's worth it would be nice to have more, and better choices of games.
Left 4 Dead looks like huge amounts of fun. Blasting Zombie heads away...how can it possibly not be fun? :D I'll have to try it out. Thanks for the review :)
Just want to add a little about your site if you don't mind :) I love checking it out when I can, and very much appreciate the time and effort you put into both the game site, and the geek site :p You do a great job.
I hope you don't mind that I got a little bit ranty with a comment I just posted to the LesbianGeek site. It irritates me when people just don't get it (with respect to the Survivors series), especially when it appears to be men down playing an issue they have no real clue about.
Meh, maybe it's just me and my slightly militant leaning...lol
Anyhow, keep up the great work :)

Games I'd like to see reviewed, but you might not have time
I would love to hear your opinions on Nomad, a PC game downloadable from Abandonia at http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/383/Project+Nomad.html. It is my favorite game, and I have found it to be one a wide variety of people find enjoyable. I understand, however, if you are unable, in part due to the fact that you are busy and not exactly PC gamers.
As well, now that it is released, what are your opinions on Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe?
