From the Cheap Seats: One Player Down (Episode 54)

This week on From the Cheap Seats, scheduling conflicts mean Becca is going it alone one more time. The vlogger covers a lot of ground, including her reaction to the IOC's decision regarding softball at the Olympics, Iranian professional football (that's soccer, to you), and the Medal of Freedom ceremony honoring Billie Jean King, among others.

Becca also gives the usual WNBA updates, including a never-before-seen feat regarding Players of the Week and some surprises in the Power Rankings.

This is a vlog by fans for fans, so please leave plenty of comments, questions, rants and raves, or anything else that comes to mind. And check back next weekend for another episode!

Welcome Back

There are two things worth mentioning about the WNBA All-Star Game: first, the great dunk by Sylvia Fowles and second, the absolute lack of defense throughout the entire game. If I wanted to watch basketball without any defense, I'd watch the men play...

I'm not sure what the Atlanta Dream think they're getting with Armintie Price, but more power to them. She's not the defensive player that she was at Ole Miss and she's a virtual non-entity on the offensive end. Sigh.

I haven't been watching Sparks games either, as a result I've missed both of their recent home losses to Sacramento and New York. GRRR!

Alas, my life is complete

I missed you guys (even though Michelle isn't in this weeks vlog).

The game between Phx and Indiana was definitely awesome.  Even though my team didn't win, we didn't let them run away with a huge lead.  It was very cool to hear the crowd cheer for Briann January as loud as they cheered for the Mercury!  She even did a post game q&a for season ticket holders. She definitely has alot of ASU fans.

Btw, seeing players out of uniform is trippy.  I almost literally ran into Katie Douglas and Tamika Catchings as they were coming out of the locker room to head to the bus.  It was awesome to be so close to some of this season's best players!  Sorry, I'm still a little star struck...

Leslie/Parker

I agree with your comments on Leslie/Parker - it's too much!! But I am surprised on the results of your research ... doesn't seem like that would be the case ... weird ...

Halle Berry at the Sparks vs Lynx game yesterday

how cool is that, i'm even more of a Halle Berry fan after that. That aside it was a good game that night Leslie was on fire. What's up with Marissa Coleman she needs to get back on the ball.

I'm sad that softball will not be coming back, but happy that Rugby will be in the olympics though.

I forgot link to Halle Berry and other celebs at WNBA games

... and then some ...

i didn't NOT like them ... but there is a little feminist part of me that doesn't like that pink represents so many women's causes ... it's such a social construction for pink to = women/girls!
