First look at Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett

Out rocker Joan Jett has always been hot.

And her hair has always been cool for the times. Case in point: Jett at a teenager in the late '70s. Hair style: mullet/shag.

Now that the first photos have emerged of Kristen Stewart as the teenage Joan in the feature film Cherry Bomb, about the famous all-girl band The Runaways, we get to see Kristen in all her mullet-ed, shaggy glory.

Production on Cherry Bomb has only just begun, so we'll be sure to see more photos emerge of Stewart and her co-stars like Dakota Fanning and Alessandra Torresani as Cherie Currie and Lita Ford.

She can definitely act - twilight notwithstanding, she's ridiculously talented. even when she was a kid, she was great - anyone remember her in Panic Room. No doubts that she can knock this one out of the park.

I agree with ^^. After watching the disaster of Twilight, I don't know if I can take her seriously as an edgy rocker. Just my opinion.

I thought the same thing until I saw her in The Cake Eaters. She was amazing; seriously, if you get the chance, check that film out. Her acting is way more impressive than Twilight gave it the chance to be.

I don't think it's a mullet as much as a shag. Besides, Shag is such a fun word. If there are any 40-something's reading this, think Leather Tuscadero (sp?) from Happy Days. Wording aside, yeah, I like it. i look forward to seeing what they do with this story.

Someone who knows her haircuts! Yes, that is a shag, not a mullett.

Also, Joan Jett was 16 in 1974. :)

In any case, Stewart looks great. Hope this movie doesn't suck.

I am old enough to remember both shags (had one in grade school) and mullets (had one briefly in college), and Kristen's do is definitely a shag.

I'm going to give Kristen the benefit of the doubt that she can do a good job with the role. There are plenty of actresses whose casting in certain roles caused a negative stir, after which they ended up doing a great job. (Charlize Theron, Hilary Swank, Nicole Kidman are a few who come to mind.) So, I'll wait until I see the film to make my decision on Kristen and the rest of the cast.

Wow Kristen Stewart is HOT in that rocker next door I could totally date her sort of way! I actually can't wait to see her in Cherry Bomb even though I know nothing about the band they are profiling. It will be a nice change from the twilight nonsense.

Ever since I saw her in Panic room, I've had a sneaking suspicion that she would one day come out and say that she was gay. Might just have been Jodie Fosters gay vibe rolling at me in uncontroled waves, but I still think she might. This didn't help with that one bit, as someone said, she looks like a young Shane (sort of)... Anywho, my gaydar is known to be horribly wrong at times, this might be one of those times, but dear lord I hope not... Cause that girl is HOT!
