Come With Me If You Want To Live: "South of Nowhere" 3.16

  Why does the webisode have Spence moving out THE VERY NEXT DAY? No one I know has ever moved out the absolute very next day after deciding to move.  Anyone else find that strange?

 I have to say, though, the 5 years later webisode didn't give me the impression that Aiden and Spence were SUCCESSFUL at what they were doing, just that they were doing it.  Aiden has always dressed pretty snappy and the stock market is definitely a world where you benefit from looking good.  Spence comes in and says she's doing a documentary on some as yet unknown "next big thing".  Doesn't seem too successful to me.  Just seems as though they were working.

 But the webisodes did suck and there's no way in hell I would have a baby a year out of college.

that SoN is over. =(  The 3rd season was HIGHLY dissappointing.  And the final episode was not what i was looking for in a series finale.  Maybe there is still a chance that it will pick up. And i think i heard somewhere that there might be a movie.

Also, that webisode 5 years later....that freaked me out.  I did NOT see Ashley ever being the type of carrying a baby, even though i guess she has been pregnant with Aiden's baby b4 spencer came in the picture...whoa weird.  Anyways all in all i didnt like this season to much. BUT i lovedddd the vlog!!!!!!

I so happy to know I'm not the only one who didnt really like the finale of South of Nowhere. I thought it was very random and kind of a disconnect from how the characters actually are. The Aiden Kayla marriage idea thing was the worst thing thing that they could have ever added to the finale. But it was cute that it ended with Spencer and Ashley moving in together but i just didnt like the whole B half of south of nowhere. But your recaps did make it better. I love your discussion on the webisodes, especially Five Years later. Definately not realistic depiction of 23 year olds careers. And a for them dragging Aiden in for the sperm...I guess theres no getting rid of him.

so S.O.N wants us to really believe that at 23 Spencer and Ashely are ready to be mothers and already married....hmmmm??? so 23 is the perfect age to settle down. Did they pass the precipice ?!? lol

Anyways im glad yall will be back to recap the L-word!! you guys really make the episodes that much interesting with your recaps.

Jenn and Dee, gotta love ya girls!  This finale recap was great, the writing on this show sucked. Only the (minimal) lesbian affection kept me through it.

Thank-you guys for vloging South of Nowhere the 3b half of this season. I agree with you all on how this season was. To me ever since Nancylee stop writing for the show it has been all over the place. But I did like on Spencer's 18th Birthday and the whole Spencer, Grandma, and Paula scene. This season could have been so much better than it was. It was like the writers didn't really care.

 But no matter what I'm going to miss Gaby, Mandy and Maeve the most of everyone and wish they would do something else together

 I loved the show as a whole and will miss it. It was groundbreaking and maybe it will continue on somewhere and bring back South as a show it was inteaded to be and get some great writers like Nancylee to write though.

I got y'all on the "Gangsta Lean" song reference-that was a throw-back for real.  I also peeped the Ashley walking in the unlocked house and Glenn and Chelsea open door broad daylight action situations.  Maybe there is a connection here because I didn't see Glenn lock the door when he entered Chelsea's studio maybe he was the one that left the Carlin's house unlocked.  Things that make you go hmmmm...

and i was also surprised that they made ashley into the mom for some reason i also thought that ashley was more like the dude in the relationship but i have to say with moms like that tom and kate baby better watch out lol.

first off, I love SON dearly, with all my heart... having said that... I wanted to stab myself in the ear with a fucking spork after watching the series finale.

I'd say I'm sad to see South of Nowhere go, but after the terrible third season and, particularly, this last episode...I just kinda wanted it to be over. I mean, even if they anticipated coming back for a fourth season, this episode was sloppy. I hope that whatever Maeve, Mandy, Gabi and Aasha pursue next...that they're blessed with better writing than we've seen on SoN this season.

I mean, really...how long did it take Spencer to get a key? And yet, Mama Carlin gets a key the day after Spencer agrees to move into the loft? WTF? 

At any rate, I'm ecstastic to hear that y'all will be vlogging the sixth and final season of The L Word. 

okay, so i love your vlog. y'all my girls! and nobody else on the web really gives SoN the time and consideration that that particular level of campy high school drama deserves, in my opinion...i do just have a couple of comments on your...comments:

y'all pourin' out a lil' for clay's memory...do you know why he got written off the show? danso gordon (who played clay) said he wanted to leave the show because the lesbian direction that the show was going went against his moral and religious beliefs. no, really.

next, this whole end of the SoN universe thing has sucked! i can't believe they made me wait all that time for them to deliver this level of incredibly bad writing to my television! rushed much? and never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever admit to your parents that you have/may have just had sex with your boyfriend chelsea and glenn!!! what the heck is wrong with y'all? speaking of which, weren't they totally gettin' down with their get down with her loft door wide the heck open?! and speaking of chelsea and glenn, how come chelsea is so damn hot...and straight? straight on the wrong show for hot girls to be straight on. criminal. but i digress...maybe the carlin parentals are okay with glenn getting down with chelsea and admitting it (or something like that...) because they're already used to the idea of one of their sons hittin' that? i'm just sayin'...

also, madison...how come she and ashley or she and spencer never had that cliche moment where they're fighting and angry and all in each other's faces...and then start making out? i will say this about madison: she is not ugly.

could kyla be any more vapid? seriously...

and: CPA boz, my arse!

and: "the day after" webisode: 1. why is spencer moving in to ashley's place THE NET DAY?! rushed much? 2. why is ashley giving paula a key? i grew up in a very big family in outside boston where everyone lives no more than 15 mins away from everyone else and they all have keys to each other's houses. i had to move to another state just so i could have the luxury of pretending i'm not home when i don't feel like seeing people. and ashley wants paula to just drop by whenever? mmmmm, no.

and" the "five years later" webisode: who is 23 and pregnant and not 100% knocked up or a mormon fundamentalist? one of those two things. is aidan the only sperm in los angeles? wrong wrong wrong...

Oh, my, god! Jen you were soooo funny! You were so crazy it was hilarious, and Dee's deadpan response to what you said made it even funnier!

About the key thing: most likely dumbass Kylie gave Aiden a key, not Ashley. I mean, she's going to marry him a day after they get back together. I'm sure she's given a key to all the Soup Kitchen bums too =)

The Webisodes (especially the day after) made me want to kill myself, but the Ninja Turtle reference was AWESOME!

It was weird seeing Ashley pregnant. She is the dominating one (and also more selfish). Yet I could see Spencer getting Ashley to do it because she will have the more stable job she has to deal with. Plus, Ashley totally did look like one of those "Volvo-Driving Soccer Moms", becoming all suburban for her kids =)

One thing to mention though. Even though Aidan did contribute his sperm, the child created will MOST DEFINITELY NOT be an Ashden baby. Hallelujah.

Jenn!!!  I'm ooooooobsessed with the hair!!!  

I didn't think it was that bad, but I also knew about the ending for awhile now. The 5 year fast forward I wasn't aware it was written by a fan? It's not like it's that real anyway.. it wasn't actually PLAYED as an episode so part of me thinks it didn't even happen.

The Kyla/Aiden shit is just BS in my opinion. I don't even bother to let myself care enough to complain. They didn't interest me much from the start and so I just focus on Spencer/Ashley which wasn't that bad as people are saying.

Jenn and Dee... y'all crack me up!!  Thank you for making the finale bearable.   I couldn't stop laughing because y'all are SO on point! And throwin' back to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Thundercats was hilarious!    

...and I totally agree that Spencer did look sexy as hell in the 5 year later episode!  

 I don't even like The L Word, but I will watch the recaps just because you 2 will be doing them!

*side note* i also have this theory that chelsea was kinda homeless. her "place" was always shot at her studio. good things she's going to a top notch school in paris! surely they'll provide a proper place for her to live. ha!

Dee and Jenn, I haven't seen a single episode of SoN, not a one! As others have posted in previous vlogs, I can watch you two talk about shows I've never seen all day. I just discovered yall last week & I've caught up with all of your vlogs so far. How did I completly miss you two?!

Dee, you're gorgeous! Like for real, you have completley knocked Nicole Pina off of my internet woman pedestal. Haha, seriously, you're too cute! I'm so embarrased, but I just had to put it out there. Dee rules! Glad yall are coming back to vlog The L Word!

Hey Everyone!

Glad you enjoyed the latest episode. This is not the way I would have like to see South of Nowhere go out, but I guess it is what it is. It would be great if the show was picked up by someone else and given an all new writting staff. But I won't even get in to all that.

Now to the things:

1) Yes Jenn and I knew about Danso Gordon and his reasons for leaving the show (thanks for the post just in case other people didn't know). We were pouring one out for Clay because he was a great brother, decent character and had potential to have a really interesting storyline. As for Danso the guy that played Clay........well I am trying not to be mean, so I won't say anything at all.

2) South will always hold a special place in my tv heart. It was one of my favorite shows, so I guess it can seem that I am harsh critic of it.  I can expound on SoN theory for hours/pages (and have actually done so before, shout out to my forum peeps thanks for putting up with all my nonsense). Jenn usually has to keep me under control when we are vlogging, because if not I will go off on a tangent about a button or some other misc. item that is irrelevant to the plot. I am sad to see SoN end, and end in this way (I guess it could have been worse, but it could have been a whole lot better).  I wish the cast good fortune in their future (and current) projects. 

3) .....hmm don't really have a 3 .......oh yea, to end on a good note, I now officially have no reason to ever watch The N again! :o)
