Alexis Bledel suffers the post-grad blues

Fans of Gilmore Girls watched Alexis Bledel's Rory grow from a prep school teenager into a college co-ed.

Now Bledel will be showing up as a university graduate who's about to experience a "pre-life crisis" in her new film Post-Grad.

According to the MTV Movies Blog, Bledel plays Ryden Malby, a young woman who leaves college and "the slow process of finding a new life, a new job and new love."

The film also stars Jane Lynch and Carol Burnett, which means it should at least a little hilarious. I mean, come on — those two women alone are easily two of the funniest on film. Together, they can only create pure magic. Burnett plays a "grumpy grandma" and Lynch is her daughter-in-law — I'm already excited.

According to Wikipedia, bisexual musician Missy Higgins is rumored to be working on songs for the film's soundtrack, which would give the movie a little bit more gay (as if Jane Lynch weren't enough.) Higgins lent a song to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, so perhaps Bledel is a fan.

Post-Grad hits theaters in August, but if you're looking for Alexis Bledel before then, you can see her on the two-hour series finale of ER on April 2. She will play an intern named Julia Wise. Even if she's in every scene, it won't be enough for me, and I'm sure I'll be seeing Post-Grad, despite its likely predictability.

Are you a Rory Gilmore Alexis Bledel fan?

Forget about Alexis Bledel.

Forget about Alexis Bledel. If Jane lynch is in it then I am there.

I remember!

I remember Missy Higgins mentioning the movie when I saw her in concert.  She played a song she wrote for a scene, but ultimately they told her they couldn't use it because it was "too depressing" (I can't remember what it was called, but it was a great song!).  Hopefully they changed their minds or put another one, because that would be amazing.

Lauren Graham

I like Rory Alexis, but seeing as I am 109 I have to say I prefer Lauren Graham.

I will probably wait for the movie to come out on DVD,  I can't sit still in a theater and people pay too much money for me to squirm for 2 hours.

She was always my TV

She was always my TV actress I'd turn gay for. My friends didn't actually know at the time that there wasn't much "turning" needed.

Post Grad

Sounds like The Graduate with a female twist. And without Mrs. Robinson. Or maybe there will be. Who knows. =P

Alexis!

She's gorgeous! I can't wait to see her in another movie (after a long time I have finally accepted the fact that GG is over), and if Lynch is in it too, it will be just more fun. Too bad Lauren isn't in the cast. I'll just have to be satisfied with one of the Girls ;]. I'm looking forward to see Post-Grad.

I've definitely got the

I've definitely got the graduate blues so will clutch at any straw to give me any tips or help or answrs as to what to do with my life. Hollywood predictability aside, maybe this film will have something I can relate to. However, in the next two and a half hours (or so) I will not find a job nor a girlfriend, so, already I'm feeling the disappointment of not matching up to the movies. *sigh*

Eeek.

I only watched Gilmore Girls (the only true GG I'll ever acknowledge) for Lauren Graham, so if I end up seeing this it will probably be for Jane Lynch.

But seriously, who photoshopped that cap onto her head?? It looks like it has a life of its own! They couldn't spring for an actual one for her to wear at the poster photoshoot??

Solution

Alexis just needs to start hanging out with Lauren again. That'll solve the "pre-life" crisis for her.

Hell ya!

I don't really watch the Gilmore Girls so I'm not really into the Rory things or whoever the other woman was and I will be watching this movie because I think Alexis Bledel is hot! Plus Missy Higgins song will be in it...ohhh...whatdaheck..

Lauren

If you want to see Lauren she is in the 2009 Guys and Dolls Broadway revival.  The show is awesome go see it.  Her singing and stage ability will supprise you.  I worked for the Director during rehersals of the show all winter, the cast is full of not only very talanted actors but amazing people.

I saw Missy Higgins in

I saw Missy Higgins in concert two weeks ago. I am pretty sure the song she wrote for this movie is called "We Run So Fast." It is written on the guitar and really is a beautiful song. Missy Higgins is just an incredible artist.

That's it

"We Run So Fast" is definitely the song and it really is beautiful.

I love Alexis especially in

I love Alexis especially in Tuck Everlasting and for most seasons of Gilmore Girls. I sort of out grew that show but it was good nonetheless.

She is one of the few actresses who consistently picks good movie roles.
