On Episode 5 of All Access Pass, Andrea Meyerson brings us to the backyard of accomplished aerialist and actress Dreya Weber. Andrea asks Dreya what it was like to film the sexy scenes in The Gymnast and how it is to work with Cher at Caesar's Palace. Then she attempts to learn some of Dreya's mid-air moves.
Despite Dreya's instructions, Andrea finds out being an aerialist is harder than it appears. All Access Pass: Dreya Weber

Breathtaking aerial stunts
Could this be anymore stunning?
I had no idea that Dreya Weber had such an incredible career. I saw her in the Gymnast and thought, wow, and looked up a few of her other things, but that was a while ago. And now I find out she's working with Cher, having direct contact with the diva herself. I should really stay on top of things.
Dreya is so physically fit it would probably put Jackie Warner to shame. It's amazing, the work she does; I'm in awe. I can't wait to see her in Vegas at the Cher show (another great reason to go)!
Dreya is awesome!
I had the opportunity in April at the Wolfe Video Party in Tampa to see just a little bit of what Dreya can do and I can say that even in that short amount of time that I saw her perform, she was not only a top performance athlete but moved with such grace and fluidity that it was quite a spectacular sight to behold.
I got to speak with her briefly afterwards (she signed autographs for fans and posed for pictures with fans as well)... and she was so wonderfully kind to everyone!
I have enjoyed Dreya since I first saw her acting in Everything Relative as the very sexy Luce and then The Gymnast, which was fantastic, as she was able to incorporate what she does for a living with the bit of acting she does here and there. Her work with Pink and Cher has given her a chance to share her "aerial art" with so many more people that might not have gotten the chance to see just how talented a woman Dreya is and how boundless her energy is as well.
Thank you Trish for bringing the Andrea Meyerson interview with Dreya to the pages of AfterEllen, so that everyone who didn't yet know the fantastic Dreya Weber will now get the chance to familiarize themselves with her and her work!

Who doesn't blog these days?
Just in time for Denver's Women's Pride party which includes...
AERIALISTS!!! How about the time of this! Wonderful stuff! Can't wait to see this stuff live. Dreya makes it look so easy and Andrea...not so much. I knew there was a reason I should have gone to a Pink concert dang it...
If you're in Denver tomorrow night join 2000 women for the Party.
Thank you for reminding me
... why I liked watching the Gymnast; the eye candy!
Great interview. It's nice to hear some background stories on her work (her saving Pink story is funny). And Andrea showing off... ;)
PS Dreya's probably all to familiar with women ogling that fit body of hers!

South Africa...
Did I hear right or did Dreya say South Africa is "culturally backwards"? Hmmm, I take exception to that!! South Africa is rich in culture, we are diverse and when it comes to homosexual partnerships we were the 5th country in the world to legalize same sex marriage. We granted same-sex immigration rights back in 1999, legalised same-sex adoption in 2002 and same-sex marriage in 2006. Yes we've had homophobic incidents (and a handful of homophobic murders), which are by no means acceptable, but correct me if I'm wrong so has America. But what does 'cultural' mean anyway, because it certainly has a wider definition than the stance on homosexuality. You mean we're not completely westernised, or Americanised, with McDonalds and Starbucks dotted over the country like a bad rash?
I don't mean to sound like the tourist board it's just that that comment came across as ignorant. South Africa does have massive problems, but is not culturally backwards. In my opinion anyway! Okay, that's my rant over! Back to watching talented girls with toned arms.
Wow I completely missed
Wow I completely missed that, when did she say that?
But, I agree with you completely South Africa is anything but culturally backwards.

That's not how it came across to me
That's not how it came across to me. It sounded to me as if Dreya began by saying it was amazing all the places around the world that the film showed like South Africa 'AND' all the remote places, but it could be confusing I suppose because at that point she seemed to take a turn in her thoughts and began talking about small towns the film screened in and the backwardness of some of those places. How radical it was to show the films there, and maybe how meaningful.
Okay..
...for you I'll give her the benefit of the doubt!
Laws and Views
I think it's very important to distinguish between the laws of a society and the views and attitudes of its citizens. When one looks at things that way, what Dreya said isn't paricularly wrong. Generally speaking [South] Africans aren't very accepting of homosexuality, etc.
In a way all societies are culturally backwards.
true
All societies
Sapphistafricana I agree with what you say, there certainly needs to be wider acceptance in parts of South Africa. My point was that I felt it was a sweeping generalisation about a countries culture, when in fact culture is made up of many different things. However, since we are talking homosexuality I understand it is an important part of culture IN THIS context. I guess each country is made up of sub cultures some of which are more accepting than others, e.g. there is the bible belt in America, then there is New York - both of which are worlds apart.
Either way, agree that in most countries there are parts of society which need to be more accepting, and it's great that the film plays at various international festivals to help achieve more insight into homosexuality.

SEXY STUFF
Bridget Should Visit Dreya
Wow
Ok, this is foolish, but Dreya, you are so my type, I'm sure if I met you in person I'd have a genuine crush, not a star crush...
If I weren't practically married to my gf (and she is the bomb so no screwing with a good thing) but/or if I were say in a movie opposite you, I'd let you make the first move. It's what I do anyway, as I always end up with bisexual women (you know, I never want to assume they go both ways even if the energy is there, gotta wait for a clear sign).
Anyhow, your gorgeous, and have a great vibe.
I absolutely LOVED The
Love, Love, Loved it!
Great stuff, thanks Andrea for doing these and letting the guests strut their stuff, that was so awesome!
I am very familiar with that commercial and am so impressed with Dreya's skills, amazing to see her.
Keep up the great vlogs!
That was so beautiful
Woo Hoo!!
This was soooooo entertaining and delightful. I loved the interview, and it makes me want to get every movie Dreya has done, and to watch the Gymnast again. Dreya is such a class act. And HONEST! And real. Thank you both for giving so much.
I had a great belly laugh watching Andrea perform aerials. You rock!
