Filling Up and Spilling Over...With Gratitude
Thank you for an AMAZING interview with the women's music foundress Cris Williamson. I was "filling up and spilling over" with gratitude and emotion as I listened to Cris recount her life, her work, and her love in this world.
Cris was my saving grace during my college years as I was "coming out" in the early 80s, supported by my discovery of Cris and Meg Christian's Carnegie Hall event, and the beautiful music that assured me I would be okay in this world. And, in the 25 years that have since passed, I have been a devoted fan.
I was particularly touched by Cris' remark that she is sometimes tired at 61. She should be! She has carried me and a world of women with her music, her inspiration and her art, for decades. And for that I am forever indebted!
Bless you, Cris, and thank you, Andrea, for bringing this to us!
Sweet Woman, Rise Inside My Glow
ahh, now this woman could truly SING...
we are trying to learn "Song of the Soul" for our next Unity presentation....
i tell you, when you hear cris sing "Shooting Star" and "Sweet Woman", you will know why my generation counts ourselves as some of the lucky ones to hear the true songbirds of women's music: cris and meg christian, sing the songs of our hearts and soul.
tyvm for acknowledging this contribution to our "her"itage. and herstory.
