TV Alert: “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” airs tonightI daresay that, out of all the Peanuts television specials, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving may be the lesbian favorite. It does, after all, focus on one of our favorite speculative lesbians, Peppermint Patty.
The story is classic Peanuts: Charlie Brown is planning to go to his grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving until Peppermint Patty calls and tells him she has no place to spend the holiday. Linus eases Chuck’s guilt by suggesting that they have two dinners, one of which is with the gang.
Peppermint Patty is at first critical of the feast, which consists of popcorn, buttered toast, ice cream, pretzels and jelly beans, in keeping with Chuck’s cooking skills.
Eventually, of course, she learns a valuable lesson and the gang celebrates happily.
As always, Patty brings her best girl Marcie along for support. To make sure you don’t miss a single second of subtext, spend a few minutes reviewing scribegrrrl’s insightful analysis before you watch the show. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and again Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET. Submitted by on November 25, 2008 - 1:00pm. |

Thank you!
family tradition!
Whew
yay Snoopy!
I never get tired of the whole Peanuts gang - I saw it on last night after finishing up our newsletter, and started txting friends with glee. It's the one cartoon from my childhood that I will stop and watch.
Cheers,
Bambi
