The Incredibly True Adventures of Francine and KatchooI can’t believe that two years have passed since we said goodbye to Strangers in Paradise.
Missing comic book characters has been a new experience for me. But after 90 issues, not including the one-shots, Francine and Katchoo were like family.
Fortunately, the girls have not gone gently into that good night.
Oops, how did that get here? What I meant is that Fran & Kat are alive and well in the mind of their creator, Terry Moore.
From time to time over the past couple of years, Terry has posted pictures of what the couple has been up to.
I just can’t get enough of those women. A lot of AfterEllen.com readers feel that way, I know, which is nice for Terry, since he just announced publication of the Strangers in Paradise Omnibus, to be released at the San Diego Comic Con in July.
The Omnibus contains the complete SiP story — all 1,926 pages of carefully repositioned, art — in two hardcover volumes with dust jackets plus a bonus color cover gallery hardcover with dust jacket, all in a slipcase. This is the complete complete SiP; Terry put in all the “dirty bits” that he cut from the original run. The 10 one-shot issues like Xena, Molly & Poo and the superhero issue will be in the back of Book Two.
According to Terry, the story will be in perfect reading order for the first time. As SiP readers know, one of Terry’s tricks was to hop back and forth in time and totally confuse us. But this time, issue 25 will be between issues 12 and 13, where it should be. I’m really looking forward to that, since I wasn’t too successful at going back and figuring out how to read the series linearly.
As you can see, Katchoo and Francine already have their copy of the Omnibus — an advantage of living with Terry, I guess. You can pre-order your very own signed and numbered copy at the Strangers in Paradise website. Meanwhile, keep up with all of Terry Moore’s incredibly true adventures at his Facebook page or follow him on Twitter.
Will the SiP Omnibus be on your shelf this summer? Submitted by on May 15, 2009 - 12:30pm. |

Ok ok. I bought it. Should
eeeeee!
I stoped visiting the SIP website reacently just cause i was too bummed out the series was over.
This is exciting tho!!!
Yah the price tag is a little imposing...but-think of it this way
SIP ran 90 issues give or take molly and poo, and the 1 shots- which are included- so 100 issues- its like a 1.50 an issue. which is half of what you'd pay pr issue.and this is hard cover- and signed..granted Terry Moore doesnt charge for autographs-*that i've ever seen* but its a nice added bonus to people who pre order it.
Yah is alot up front- but this story is SOOOOOO worth it. SIP was an amazing series. Supporting independant non-superheroie comics is a good thing!
I finally caved in and pre-ordered the SiP omnibus
I like the stuff Terry draws of Katchoo and Francine.
The one above with them entwined together on a (love) seat is actually a commissioned piece Terry drew for two friends of mine in Belgium :)

Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered it.
160 clams!
Yowza. Worth it, sure, but dang. I stopped reading this comic at issue 75 (just checked my collection), and had no idea these two ended up together! I remember Katchoo smooching Francine in a bathroom somewhere, and Francine liking it very much, but the last I knew, F was married to Brad. So, yay, Katchoo finally got the girl!
And thanks so much for accidentally including the bed scene.
yes
SIP 4ever
YAYYYYYYY!!! I was always reading my friend's copies when I'd visit her in CA and since I have not been lately, I never got to finish the series. Now I have ordered my own set!!

In that case...
Thank YOU for commissioning that piece.
