The "Gilmore Girls" movie could be on again

How much do you miss Lorelai Gilmore?

Not the Lorelai of the final seasons of Gilmore Girls. I’m talking about the original Amy Sherman-Palladino Lorelai who exchanged machine-gun-fast, pop-culture-packed dialogue with daughter Rory.

I’m talking about the Lorelai who was quirky and cute and awkward, not the Lorelai who was wishy-washy and selfish and more than a little irritating. (What exactly happened to Paul Anka, Lor, hmm?)

I miss Rory, too, of course, but not quite as much. And I have a feeling that has little to do with the character of Rory and everything to do with the fact that she’s not Lauren Graham.

But I digress.

Since Gilmore Girls ended a few years ago, rumors about a GG movie have come and gone. Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel have moved on to other roles and Sherman-Palladino has an HBO series in the works. (No word on the hat’s career.)

But Monday, Michael Ausiello told us that AS-P has not given up on the idea of a Gilmore movie. “Anything can happen,” she insists. “I’m in touch with [Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel]. If there’s a story to tell, then absolutely I think we’re all going to want to tell it. That’s the bottom line.”

Pardon me for just a moment. (SQUEE!!!)

“I think that the beauty of Gilmore, and the beauty of family relationship shows is, you never really run out of story. You’re going to battle your family until you’re all in the ground. Those things never resolve, doesn’t matter how much therapy you get. Ten years later, there’s still going to be [material] there to mine and to delve into.”

Sherman-Palladino also admitted that she had a very different path in mind for Rory and the rest of the gang. But she’s not about to spill the storyline beans. “I don’t want to totally say [what my ideas were], because if there is a movie in the making, I’m going to be basically delving back into where I left off, and then I’m kind of [screwed].”

Dare we hope for the return of our Gilmore girls? Can they recapture the magic that made us fall in love with GG in the first place? Will the last couple of seasons of GG turn out to be a dream? What do you see in Lorelai and Rory’s future?

Gilmore Girls the Movie? I wonder...

While Rory was covering Obama's campaign she met one of his supporters named Lisa. Rory and Lisa hit it off right away. Lisa big issue this election was Gay Rights and of course Rory agreed with whatever Lisa had to say on the subject or any subject because Rory was smiten with Lisa and she could just sit and listen to Lisa go on and on all day she just really enjoyed Lisa company all though she had no idea that Lisa was gay and was starting to fall for her. Just two days before the election Rory and Lisa went off to get some coffee together down at this really great coffee shop Lisa just went on and on about. Rory couldn't keep herself from laughing once they arrived at the Starbucks Cafe'. Lisa didn't like Rory laughing at her fave Cafe' so she did the only thing she could think of to shut Rory up. One second Rory was laughing her head off and the next second Rory found herself in a deep passionate kiss a kiss that was filled with so many mix emotions. Rory for the first time in a really long time felt something really special and Lisa felt all the same. The little kiss quickly turn into two little kisses then three and four! Rory finally pulled away leaving Lisa kissing air for a brief second before opening her eye's to ask Rory Whats wrong? Rory told her to hold on as she reached into her purse to grab her cell phone which Lisa only just now realized was ringing. Rory? Hi! It's me, your Mother, you know Lorelai Gilmore? Said the person on Rory's phone who Lisa was starting to suspect that it was Rory's mother Lorelai. Interesting timing Lisa said to Rory. Rory said yea back to Lisa before answering the phone Hi mom, yes I know it's you. –

    haha what do you think?

    FINALLY!

I've always thought that Gilmore Girls was severely lacking a lesbian story-line.  Or, at least, a good lesbian kiss. ;)

    please let this happen

    How amazing would that be?

I heart Lauren Graham, I'd watch her and Alexis Beldel in anything.  Lauren is hilarious and was one of my first crushes, haha.

I would definitely go and see this film if and when it comes out.

I'm so glad Rory didn't end up with douche bag, I mean Logan.

I love your blogs, Linster! The whole sentence with "Pardon me for just a moment. (SQUEE!!!)" made me laugh so hard :)

And of course: I'll watch anything that has Lauren Graham in it. Especially if it means that there is more Lorelai Gilmore for me!

    Favorite Show Ever

Even though I have every season on DVD, I still love watching the GG reruns on ABC Family every evening while my roommate and I eat dinner.

Although a Gilmore Girls movie would be awesome, I'm just looking forward to seeing Lauren Graham every week on Parenthood.

    Awesome

I have been waiting so long for a Gilmore girls movie. I have seen every episode on E4 way back when, loved it. I just hope the movie will happen. I really miss Rory and Lorelai as well as Lauren Graham and Alexis Beldel. <3 Gotta love them both :-)

    Could they...

    ..Just make Paris gay already???

Paris would be much happier (as happy as she can get being wound as tight as she is). I would be happy (as much as I can with a fictional person's personal life). And it would sooo explain that impulsive Spring Break kiss she planted on Rory.

    Come on. Pretty please?

    This is SO TRUE..  lmao
