Padma Lakshmi is so delectable that lesbians have long ago forgiven her for being a, um, meat eater.
She certainly didn’t start that way, as she told People:
I grew up a vegetarian. Then, because I grew up in the states, I started slowly eating meat. First it was bologna sandwiches, or pepperoni on pizza. As a teenager, [my friends and I] would always go have burgers. I would scarf them down!
What? Of course I was talking about her diet. What did you think?
Lakshmi will not be a PETA pleaser any time soon, now that she is in a commercial for Hardee’s Bacon Western Thickburger.
Given her passion for food, I’m not surprised that Lakshmi finds even a fast-food burger ad sexy:
I think it’s a beautiful love song to food. I think eating in itself is the act of great sensuality, so all you have to do is point the camera in the right direction.
I’m inclined to agree, assuming the right direction is anywhere Padma happens to be.
Having Lakshmi as spokesperson certainly stirs my hunger more than the previous Hardee’s burger babe. And if scarfing bacon cheeseburgers is the way to Padma’s heart, then damn the cholesterol and full speed ahead. I can hardly wait for dessert.
