Katie Holmes and Sigourney Weaver turn to “Stone”

I’m a sucker for shows about the paranormal. Ghost Whisperer? Check. Medium? Check. Blood Ties? Check. The fact that these shows star very sexy women is purely coincidental.

But I have mixed feelings about Eli Stone — not that the show has a shortage of gorgeous females. If you wondered what happened to Natasha Henstridge after Commander in Chief was canceled, wonder no more. Henstridge plays Taylor Wethersby, Eli’s ex-fiancée and fellow attorney. Such a pretty, um, face.

The unsettling thing about Eli Stone is that Eli’s prophetic visions are attributed to a brain aneurysm. When I stop to think that an aneurysm might allow someone to see into the future, I get all caught up in the concept of time and simultaneous dimensions and before long, I begin to believe that I have an aneurysm myself. So, rather than ponder whether Eli has an illness or a gift, let’s look ahead to two acclaimed guest stars for Eli Stone, Season 2.

First up: Katie Holmes will play an attorney on the Oct. 21 episode, marking her return to television. Rumor has it that she will be in one of the show’s trademark song-and-dance numbers.

Holmes is a friend of the show's producer Greg Berlanti, who also produced Dawson’s Creek. Sure, the role is stunt casting, but I’ll be happy to see Katie on television again. I still miss Joey Potter.

On board for later in the season is everyone’s favorite alien fighter, Sigourney Weaver.

Weaver will play Eli’s therapist, who has a big task ahead trying to analyze the mind of a man who thinks God looks like George Michael. (Although, come to think of it, that’s better than George Burns.) I don’t know about you, but that deep, rich voice of hers could soothe my irrational fears any old day.

    Is it Kate Holmes these days? Ofcourse she is friends with greg berlanti he made it Joey's creek instead of Dawsons... She's a good actress though

    I think Tom must've hacked in and changed all of the mentions to "Kate." It's as it should be now. She'll always be Katie to me, too. Actually, she'll always be Joey to me!

    She was definetly good as Joey Potter in the first 2 seaons of Dawson´s creek. It just sucks that she´s not joey potter but naive glamour wanting actress

    I've watched Eli Stone and have been diggin' it.

    It has a solid cast the writing has been good, and I have even laughed out loud.

    Interesting guest stars will help through the second season, and that may bring in more interest in the show and give it the chance it needs to find a solid fan base.

    I'll be watching to see how long a show like this can stay on air.

    My guess...not long seeing it's a spiritual show and the public are more interested in shows like Survivor.

    I will probably just YT or LV the Katie parts.  Actually, it will probably be on every entertainment talk show around. I doubt I'll have to look for the clips at all.

    I miss Joey too.  *sigh*  I think I had it worse for her than Pacey and Dawson combined.

    I was watching season 2 ( the best season!!! ) and all im thinking is joey shut up! But i used to love Joey, she is gorgeous in all seasons.

    I LOVE Eli Stone -- I tuned it for the lead actor (you know the dude that was once married to Angelina Jolie -- Jonny Lee Miller) - and fell for the whole cast. It's funny, it smart, its fun -- AND Garbor gets to sing, 'nuff said

    I'm a big Eli Stone fan and am glad to hear that there will be some cool guest stars - especially Sigourney Weaver! Maybe Eli will have a vision of her fighting aliens while singing and dancing!

     There are lots of cool women on the show. Loretta Devine is always fabulous and I have a major crush on Julie Gonzalo (who plays the cute and idealistic attorney Maggie Dekker).

    I started watching because of Victor Garbor (I loved him on Alias) and was so happy it was better then his last show (he played a smarmy lawyer). I think it's a cute show, and has a really good cast. I generally hate "special guest star" episodes because they focus too much on the star and not enough on the storyline. Hopefully that won't be the case here.
