Hot moms get a list of their ownSince we’re celebrating hotness today and since yesterday was Mother’s Day, what better way to honor both than with a list of hot moms? That’s exactly what The Daily Beast was thinking, no doubt, when it listed “The Hottest Cool Moms.”
Some of these women are on the AfterEllen.com Hot 100, but all are undoubtedly gorgeous, sexy women. Meryl Streep Crushes come and go, but Meryl has been in my personal Top 10 since before I even knew why I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. In the midst of an incredible career, Marvelous Meryl has raised four children, Henry, Mamie, Grace and Louisa — all well on their way to being as gorgeous and gifted as their mom. Brooke Shields Former Calvin Klein model Brooke can still rock a pair of jeans while tooling around town with daughters Rowan and Grier. And Sinead O'Connor, who had her first child at the age of 20, just as her top selling single came out Nothing Compares to U. She now has a brood of 4, all from different fathers who she's raising in Dublin.
And MIA, who gave birth to her first born, the day after she rapped at the Grammys.

I met someone on this list once...
My BFF and I went to a taping of The Daily Show back in August '06, because a connection was able to get us tix and backstage. (So awesome!) As we waited in the green room for rehearsal to finish, in walks this professorial looking dude and his GORGEOUS wife. I didn't recognize either of them, but just minutes before we had met John Oliver, who told us it was his first day working for TDS, and since they were also from the UK, we figured they were probably his friends, there to offer support. So we struck up a conversation and spent the rest of rehearsal talking politics, UK-US relations and how Blair was all up Bush's ass or whatever.
Rehearsal ended, we were let into the VIP seating of the studio, and we kept talking on and off. But some of the crew were coming up speak with them, and one of them said something about a book that the lady was writing, and once I heard the word book, it finally dawned on me who I'd been talking with this entire time. Before I could stop myself, I slapped a hand on my BFF's thigh and said, really fast and way louder than I would've liked, "OH MY GOD IT'S JK FUCKING ROWLING!"
To this day I don't know whether she heard me or not, but after she was done talking with the staff member, I told her that we were big fans of her work and apologized to her for not recognizing her before, but that it was because she is just so much more stunning in real life than in her press photos. Which she TOTALLY IS, y'all, I am not even kidding you. So besides being insanely talented and incredibly beautiful, she is also totally nice and down to earth and unpretentious. She is made of awesome.
C'mon now...
Brooke Smith, anyone? She has two daughters, the youngest being adopted. And, y'know, she's freaking Brooke Smith.
