"Grey's Anatomy" and my yen for Yang

Fall TV is on the horizon and that means one thing: spoilers and speculation. OK, two things. And I’ve got some Grey’s Anatomy spoilers right here. So if you don’t want to know, enjoy Sandra Oh for a few minutes and move on.

Still here? You read the last chapter of Deathly Hallows first, didn’t you?

Grey’s Anatomy has been good to Sandra Oh. She’s won a Golden Globe and a SAG Award and has been nominated for an Emmy three years in a row. Maybe this year, she’ll win. Hey, she convinced everybody she enjoyed kissing Isaiah Washington — now that is good acting!

Oh’s character, Cristina Yang, has not been so lucky. The third season finale of Grey’s ended with her fiancé, Dr. Preston Burke (Washington) not only bailing out on the wedding, but taking off. Can you believe anyone would leave Cristina at the altar? I mean, really.

What’s next for Yang? According to BuddyTV, she’s going on her honeymoon — with Meredith. When they get back, Burke’s gone for good. However, his mom (the legendary Diahann Carroll) will be back in the second episode. Remember that choker she loaned Cristina for the wedding? She wants it back. Hilarity ensues.

The real question is what the Grey’s writers will do with Cristina the rest of the season. I’m hoping her snarky side will be back in full force. And, naturally, I’ve got my fingers crossed that the bisexual story line will be resurrected with Cristina Yang smack dab in the middle of it.

Whatever happens with Yang, Shonda Rhimes and company have a lot to make up for after a disappointing third season. George and Izzie was just icky. Mer and Der — who cares? Bailey's not Chief Resident — huh? Addison has gone into Private Practice. And Callie? Can we please just have Sara Ramirez in every scene? Thanks.

Are you looking forward to this season of Grey’s? Any predictions? What is your dream story line for Cristina? As if I didn’t know.

    *swoon*

I've totally had a crush on Sandra Oh ever since I first saw her in 'Under the Tuscan Sun' (she makes SUCH a good lesbian *sigh*).

And yes, I'd love for her character to find love with a woman after the way Burke treated her *grumble* (not often you dislike the character AND the actor, for seperate reasons).

Course, I wouldn't want it to be with Meredith, because aside from Meredith being way too annoying, it would reduce a lesbian relationship to merely an 'extended friendship', and given how our relationships are marginalised in the media already, not keen on that idea. Not Izzy, because ... just well, Izzy is so straight she makes levels look kinked, and not Callie, because well, as much as I do love her (and I do) I just don't think they'd work and be believable as a couple.

Maybe now that Meredith's sister has turned up, she'd target Cristina ... I mean, not only would that rock, but seriously would provide some drama between Cristina and Meredith.

Cristina as a character is just begging to come out *grin* And just because I am horribly biased for that to occur doesn't mean I'm not right! *bigger grin*

    to be honest

I pretty much lost interest in the show throughout its third season. It was only in the last few minutes of the finale that my interest re-sparked. Now it all depends on what course the show takes. Too much Meredith drama would just make me jump ship for good.

However, more screen time for Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson and Sara Ramirez (preferably in a love triangle) - can definately make me Shonda's biggest fan!

the fact that she payed a

the fact that she payed a lesbian doesn't make her more attractive to me than anybody else ... but I do like her on Grey

    Yay Cristina!

I gotta say when I saw Roger Rees show up as Cristina's former flame I said "That's not a woman!" and I was highly disappointed.  Alas, it is a major network.  Hopefully Cashmere Mafia will open up some doors for women relationships and we might meet one of Cristina's former girlfriends soon!

Better yet, her and Callie!  ;-)

    I'm giddy with glee!

How come the AE bloggers are

How come the AE bloggers are so against George and Izzie together? I love them. I mean, I like Callie's character, I just don't like her for George. She makes him her bitch, and I just don't really like that for him. Though I didn' think I'd like George and Izzie together before Season 3, they grew on me and at this point, I'd really just like for her to get something that she wants without it having to completely crumble.

    Well ...

I can't speak for the AE bloggers, but the vibe I haver always gotten from George and Izzie was a brother-sister one, hence, having them get together has just HUGE ick factor, no matter how much you try to tell yourself that they aren't actually brother and sister.

Course, this could also be increased for me by the fact that I actually really like George and Callie together *grin* ... and yeah, sure, so she's the dominant one in the relationship. If I am not going to get a large range of lesbian relationships anywhere on television, at the very least I can enjoy this relative rarity in straight relationships, where the woman is senior, with more experience, more capable, and stronger.

    Yeah, what she said

For me, it is the brother-sister dynamic that makes it icky. Plus I'm not a fan of cheating on your spouse. I'm just funny that way. Honestly, I'm not convinced that George and Callie are a good fit, either, but unless they split, I'm hanging in with them as a couple. (BTW, I suspect that if you gathered all of us AE bloggers in a room and said, "George and Izzie. Discuss." you'd be hard-pressed to find two of us who have exactly the same opinion. I don't even agree with myself from one day to the next! I just spout out my opinion of the moment and hope I'll get to hear yours in return.)

    oh season 3

Thank you fo the lovely pictures. I think that sadly I won't be watching it next season. I just got fed up with everything during season 3 - well, everything apart from Christina. She'd probably be the only reason for me bothering... and not just because of the possible bisexual storyline they shelved last season.

If Sara Ramirez gets more screen time I won't be able to stay away. As long as she doesn't have to be part of the George/Izzy freak show. ugh. Pain.

Who are you, and how do you

Who are you, and how do you know me so well??? I *did* read the last chapter of Deathly Hallows first... Hehe

Cristina rocks. She is the most interesting (and funny) character of Grey's... And I actually liked her relationship with Burke until he became a boring pain in the... (can I use bad words here? better not)

I think she deserves a lot of attention, her character can grow so much yet...

Cristina and Meredith, as George and Izzie... They are best friends, and that's kind of like family. I can't even think about them getting involved...

I will wait and see! =D
