Ellen Barkin and Famke Janssen join “The Chameleon”

Here’s one more reason to celebrate Friday: Two of the sexiest over-40 women in Hollywood are making a film together.

Ellen Barkin and Famke Janssen will star in Jean Paul Salome’s The Chameleon, scheduled for release in 2010.

The Chameleon is based on the true story of Frédéric Bourdin, a man who assumed at least 39 identities — including three missing teenagers. A New Yorker article in August told the incredible tale, which I found absolutely riveting. I can barely believe that Bourdin was able to pull off one deception after another for 20 years.

The film focuses on one of the missing-persons cases, the reunion of Nicholas Barclay and his family. Bourdin posed as Barclay, claiming that he had escaped from a child prostitution ring, until people started questioning his true identity. Canadian actor Marc-Adre Grodin will play Bourdin, a.k.a. The Chameleon

Barkin plays the missing boy’s cougar mother.

Who wouldn’t pretend to be her kid? Seriously.

Janssen plays an FBI agent pursuing Bourdin.

Wanted: Famke Janssen to pursue me.

I love movies like this, so I’d see it no matter who starred. But the prospect of Barkin and Janssen onscreen together certainly will make me watch for the premier. Especially given the chance Barkin will wear this dress.

Is The Chameleon your kind of movie?

    nice

I just read the New Yorker article and, though I tend to avoid thrillers (I'm frightened wayyyyy too easily), this one may be just too good to pass.

    Mercy

Mercy was a thriller that got under my skin on so many levels, yet I HAD to watch it maybe 3 or 4 times just to see Ellen Barkin and Peta Wilson. I have no idea yet what this movie is about, but nothing could keep me from seeing it.

I swear, nothing, even age, can keep Ellen from screaming lusty sex, and the fact that we see age in her face assures me she is tellling the truth about aging naturally.

    Famke,

    I cheese sandwich you.

    Mercy--Yes!!

We can only hope that Barclay's mother is single...and at least curious...after all, how many times have we seen movies where the detective/cop hooks up with suspects and involved parties.  Oh that's right...Ellen Barkin already did that...in Mercy!!!  Let's hope Famke Janssen follows her lead in that movie (I could definitely see Famke being as hot as Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson), and takes it further than was done there, at least by Ellen Barkin's character (since, goodness gracious, that movie is reponsible for the hottest dressing room scene EVER!!!)  I suppose it would be too much to ask for Peta Wilson somewhere in the script as well...but hell yes, I'll be looking forward to this movie!!!

"Sometimes you can just have, like, a moment with someone--you know, when you're doing something totally random, and...it's just, like, charged or something!  --Mischa Barton as Marissa Cooper on O.C.
