Danica McKellar brings love to "The Big Bang Theory"

Since The Wonder Years doesn’t show up too often in reruns, I love seeing the actors, especially the kids, in other roles. After all, Wonder Years was appointment TV for the six seasons it aired — and I miss it.

Fortunately, one of the actors we get to see from time to time is Danica McKellar, who was Kevin’s dream girl, Winnie Cooper, on the series.

McKellar has grown up to be a beautiful, whip-smart nerd. And I mean that in the best possible sense. She has made it her mission in life to convince middle school girls that math is cool.

Her two books on the subject have made the New York Times children’s bestseller lists, so apparently the girls are listening. And I have to say, if someone like Danica had told Little Linster that math was cool, I would’ve listened — with rapt attention.

Now McKellar is set to guest star on the show that all whip-smart nerds adore, The Big Bang Theory. All we know so far is that her name will be Abby, she is a grad student at Cal Tech, and she will be a character’s love interest.

The episode will air Jan. 11, so we’ll know then who gets the girl. Any guesses?
