We have great news and maybe not-so-great news about Dana Delany.
The great is that the story about her meeting with Jennifer Beals has a bit more to it than we knew. On Jimmy Kimmel Live last Friday, she talked about her roles on Desperate Housewives and The L Word. The first few minutes are stories we know, but Delany is so cute telling them that you’ll enjoy hearing them again.
As if that weren’t enough, Delany goes on to confess that she really, really enjoys being naked in the water.
Let’s all pause for a few moments to revel in the thought of Dana Delany, naked in a hot tub with a can of ReddiWip.
Now add Jennifer Beals, also naked.

The not-so-great news comes in the form of a scoop from EW’s Michael Ausiello, who says, “Dana Delany is so well-regarded over at ABC that network prez Steve McPherson is inviting her to cheat on Desperate Housewives by starring in Body of Evidence, an Alphabet pilot that, if it’s picked up, would almost certainly take her away permanently from Wisteria Lane.”
The role is contingent on Delany and ABC working out a deal – nothing is settled yet. But I can totally see her in the part: a “brilliant and tenacious” female medical examiner who used to work as a neurosurgeon. With glasses, please.
Delany’s character Katherine has been through the ringer on Desperate Housewives, so perhaps the move would be good for her. And since Julie Benz, who plays Katherine’s lesbian love interest Robin, also is doing a pilot, we suspected that the DH lesbian relationship would be short-lived. Perhaps if both actresses leave the show, we could at least imagine them living happily ever after.
