TV Alert: Ellen makes an appearance on "So You Think You Can Dance"

Hey Cat Deeley, what's that sound you hear?

I'll give you a hint: it's coming to So You Think You Can Dance tonight and it's hotter than the Hot Tamale Train.

Mia Michaels? Good guess! And yes, she is a guest judge on tonight's show. And yes, she is hotter than a Hot Tamale Train riding around on the surface of the sun — but I'm talking about a dancer even more popular than her!

I know, Mia! I know! I'm excited too!

OK, one more hint, Deeley, and it's just because I want to kiss you on the mouth you asked so nicely. Tonight's super special fourth guest judge has been Tweeting her excitement all week long:

Yes, you're right: Ellen DeGeneres is joining the judging panel for tonight's 99th episode of So You think You Can Dance!

OK, that's a little much. You're not that surprised; you did make the announcement on last week's show. I know: I had to rewind it five times to make sure I was hearing you correctly. Occasionally, you make my brain feel punch drunk fuzzy.

So You Think You Can Dance is down to its final eight dancers tonight, and Ellen's appearance as a guest judge is just the thing we need to pull us into the home stretch. How will Ellen respond to Mary Murphy's whooping and hollering? Will her gaydar ping on Mia Michaels? Will she get up and dance? And, perhaps most importantly, will the building actually explode from the sheer awesomeness of having Cat Deeley, Mia Michaels and Ellen it at the same time? Will I explode from watching?

Who will be tuning into Fox tonight to find out?

    I don't have a tv, so I watch the show on youtube the next day, but I am super-duper excited. I love Mia Michaels, she is so incredibly beautiful, quirky, and talented. And Cat Deeley is must be the sweetest person ever, I just want to hug her.

    I wonder if Ellen will shake her groove thing?

    that Ellen is going to be a judge. At first I was like, does she know anything about dance, other than the fact that she dances on her show all the time? But then I got over it once the idea of her, Cat, and Mia all interacting with each other sounds like some good entertainment, lol.

    Oh my god! So exciting! I'll be keeping an eye out for this on other online sources, as Fox does not come on in South Africa. I love Ellen more than I can say, she's just the most awesome! Fangirl alert!!!

    I didn't watch last week's show so I didn't know they made this announcement. I stopped tuning into it so much since my siblings watch the "I Survived a Japanese Gameshow" but today the TV will stay entirely on FOX!!

    So excited to see what Ellen will bring to the table. Wonder if Portia's gonna be in the audience too. =]

    I am sooooo in love with Mia Michaels and so you think you can dance. When I heard Ellen was going to be a guest judge I flipped out and was so excited. I cannot wait to watch tonight! I'm sure it's going to be even more hilarious than usual with Ellen

    I'm so friggin xcited! I rarely watch SYTYCD but I can't wait for tonight's show...

    Just hope Obama's speech will be shown live here on the West Coast so that I won't miss Ellen

    Ellen and Cat Deeley on the same show? Awesome, I love them both so much! They both seem like really lovely people. I used to have a massive crush on Cat when she presented Saturday morning kids TV in the UK... Her smile used to make me melt even as a 12 year old! Darn you Americans for taking her away from me! :(

    i had no idea about all this until midnight, as in a couple hours ago. about 3 hours after the show ended. i was totally ripped off from this really important information. why wasn't it posted last week right when it was announced? ya know, to prepare people who usually have no interest in dance shows. i definately would have watched it tonight though just because ellen was in it.

    I watched it. I'm a big fan of the show, and the fact that Ellen was guest judging made it that much greater. She's awesome and was her usual funny, charming self. Ellen fit in nicely and contributed many laughs (more than usual: I swear those judges are on crack sometimes). I say they give Ellen a permanent spot on the judges' panel!

    On a somewhat unrelated note, the contemporary piece performed by Melissa and Ade...it's moments like these that prove why dance is so important.
