Tila Tequila vs. the 8-year-old boyAbout a month ago, two books were published with the same theme: getting girls to like you. The first, How to Talk to Girls was written by an 8-year-old boy. The second, Hooking Up with Tila Tequila: A Guide to Love, Fame, Happiness, Success, and Being the Life of the Party, was written by — well, you don't need me to tell you; it's right there in the title.
Because I care about getting girls to like me, I read both books to see which one had better advice. Let's tackle Tila Tequila first. The first thing Tila Tequila wants to you know when you open up her book to the beginning chapter — titled "Sluts" — is that you can "f--k off." No kidding, that's how she starts the book. The next chapter is called "Haters" and in it Tila Tequila is shocked and outraged that she hasn't been more accepted by the lesbian and bisexual community; or accepted by women in general. There is an entire chapter dedicated to teaching men what women want. To wit: "No matter how crazy we get, just sit back and go, 'You know my girl is dramatic. She's a chick. That's just how it is.'"
In the chapter about women pleasing other women, Tequila offers this gem: "Sometimes girls get tired of dealing with guys being all tough and macho, and all of a sudden they find themselves being into other chicks." Got that? Girls are into guys until guys act petulant, and then girls are into other girls for backup. (I cannot figure out why women and lesbians/bisexuals don't like this woman.) Tila Tequila's practical advice on getting girls to like you? Nothing. Seriously. In the "getting a guy to like you" chapter she says you should always act like a lady. (Ironically, she writes that sentence directly after 50 pages of nudey pictures which she suggests you "get your rocks off to.") She also advises girls to not be needy and not call more than twice without a response. Oh, and hold off on having sex until you just absolutely must. How does the second-grader's advice in How to Talk to Girls stack up to Tila Tequila's? Here are some of his tips:

I was actually thinking the same, at least the boy
makes more sense. Ms. Tequila is a sad case of cheap entertainment, however, she may contribute to consolidate all that mythology amongst certain groups. Girls into girls because men dont behave? so as long as men behave women do not "need" to turn to the "B group"? yeah right!.

I heard about this boy a few weeks ago in the morning radio show. He's going to publish another book next year. In such young age, this boy has read a lot of books, the publisher was in awe upon meeting this boy, that's what the radio show said.

Tila is an embarrassment to all living things (intelligent or otherwise) and should not be given one more moment of airtime or piece of paper upon which to print her "advice."
There is only one writer among these two with a childish approach to matters of the heart and it's not the 8 year old.

Tila Tequila is a joke. Do we still have to call her a bisexual because let's face it, she's fake as hell.
And she has the gall to say we should love her? Lady, we do not use women as a back-up to women, we are not promiscuos, and thank the Godess, we are not you.
The little boy wins. Not just because he's a better writer than Tila (even though, he really is) but because his advice is what any guy or lesbian will listen to because it is sweet and honest.

Kids always have the best advice
Seriously because things are so simple and basic. You want to know how you look in an outfit- don't ask your friends, ask your little brother ... sometimes your little sister (although because you're the BIG sister they tend to agree more than a boy would). Same with dating. You like someone, you think they like you... tell a kid the situation (the G/PG 13 version) and they got you!

I did watch A Shot At
I did watch A Shot At Love.. and was hooked on it. The entertainment factor was just too big to pass. However, the kid gives more sound advice in a few lines than she seems to in an entire book. So, kudos to you kiddo, you already know what's up. Tila can go back to her less than mediocre recording career...or do another brainless reality show for MTV.

because almost everything he said is what i go by. he's a smart 8 year old boy but ironically i bet he's going to have the worst luck with girls when he gets older. thats usually what happens, lol.

Hmm.. I didn't know Tila was smart enough to read more less right a book... Seriously she's outraged that the lesbian community doesn't want her... I can't imagine why!! I tried watching her show and maybe if i was a freshmen boy in high school i might enjoy it but im not and the show sucked.... But knowing MTV they have to out do themselves by having not ONE but TWO bisexual girls.. ugh it makes me sick!

I guess she assumes that her 'fan base' and myspace friends have an IQ adequate enough to get through the book (after all, it sounds like there are more pictures than words anyway) and are thusly stupid enough to not really GET the gist of relationship/friends etc.
