Sarah Shahi lands a new pilot on USASarah Shahi's characters have worn many vocational hats over the years.
She's done the cop thing.
The DJ thing.
The falling in love with Shane thing.
I know that's not really a job, but so many lesbians have done it, I hear they're offering a minor in Shane at Smith these days. Lucky for us TV execs are going to continue to let her try on hats until she finds one that fits just right. The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Shahi has landed the lead in a new USA Network pilot, Facing Kate. Information is scarce; USA hasn't even ordered the show yet, but assuming the pilot does get picked up, Facing Kate will follow "Kate (Shahi), a divorced San Francisco woman who leaves her job as a lawyer to become a mediator." USA has developed some pretty solid original programming over the last few years with Monk, Psych, Burn Notice and In Plain Sight. And thanks to Kyra Sedgwick, cable is now the go-to for dramas centered around strong, independent women. So, here's hoping USA can pull it together and make Facing Kate a star vehicle for Shahi. Will you watch if Facing Kate gets picked up? Submitted by on October 22, 2009 - 3:00pm. |

I wouldn't mind watching Sarah Shahi 'facing Kate' again! LOL
If it airs here, I will always watch for the perve. I never watched Life too much because a) my gf got bored, and b) the ginger guy annoyed me, but sometimes I would sneak it on to drool over!

It Ain't Life, But It'll Do
OMG, this is great news!
Just the other day I saw a commercial for a new program from USA and thought, "I don't know why they just didn't pick up Life," and now we get this news. I'm so excited and willl definitely be watching if it's picked up...
I still miss Damian Lewis, though.

Sarah Shahi>>
Hell yes, I'll watch this show!
Sarah is the reason this show will pull me in BUT the premise of the show is what will make me stick around: it sounds complex.
If Sarah Shahi is in...

You forgot,
You forgot, "teacher". And I forget the name of that sitcom in which she played the teacher. Oh, duh. It was called "Teachers"

I've watched her in everything she's done, why stop now. Oh and in addition to "Teachers", she was a stripper in The Dog Problem, but I don't know if that counts cause it was a movie.
I still miss Life!

I like your quote
Um...
Was I the only one that read Facing Kate and my mind immediately went to Kate Moennig (aka:Shane)?
Anyway, USA has done a fairly solid job with some shows, so I'll likely give this one a look before deciding one way or another.
I'm still kinda mad that Life got axed... that was a really great show and deserved a longer run.

I'll watch...
Facing Kate Moennig...
oh, that's right, she did that already! <smirk> Come on, USA, is that really the best title you can think of for a show? What a stupid title. Sarah Shahi deserves better.
I Trust USA More Than the Main Networks

I'd check out any show she was going to appear on, but I'm happy this one is coming out on USA--as quickly as the major networks are cancelling shows any more, I almost hate to get invested in any new shows! But you're right about USA, so here's hoping...for Shahi and her fans!

Wow, she's hot in the DJ
Wow, she's hot in the DJ photo from The L Word! I loved her in that show, but hated that she was cast as a Mexican character instead of just letting her be Indian. They could have done the same storyline but made her background Indian instead. To me, she doesn't even look Hispanic...
Anyway, yes I'll watch to support her (I'm glad she's the lead instead of a support character), but like others have pointed out... If the story sucks, I won't stick around.
yay carmen!
she if friggin hot! gonna watch of course, for the life of me i miss her!

Love Sarah but... USA?
I love Sarah... really... she's gorgeous but more than that she is an incredibly nuanced actress that has been too often typecast and underused due to her physique (Life Season 2 anyone?) but why does it have to be a court drama on USA?
The only really good show that was ever on USA was Karen Sisco and they had no idea what to do with a show where the lead was a female who was alternatively as tough as the boys and as femme as the softest melt-in-your-mouth pice of candy and now they're playing interested in female audiences... thanks to other female centric shows like The Closer or Saving Grace... and all they have to offer are turkeys like In Plain Sight (and believe me it's killing me because I adore Mary McCormack)?
So... I'm not holding my breath.
