Mischa Barton loves playing gayYou remember that t.A.T.u movie Dorothy Snarker told us about last May, right? The film — You and I — stars Mischa Barton and Shantel Van Santen (of ANTM: SI) as Russian and American teenagers who fall in love to the rousing faux-lesbian sounds of t.A.T.u., and then get swept up into some kind of murder/drug ring.
Well, Barton wasn't at the premiere in Cannes, but in an interview this week she finally mentioned the movie. "I did a film about t.A.T.u, the Russian girl band, and that was interesting," she said. "This whole corrupt Russian music industry formed this fake lesbian band. It's an odd story but a fascinating one." You know what else falls into that odd-but-fascinating category? Barton said when it comes to acting, she prefers to kiss girls:
Also, she has no idea why people keep offering her lesbian roles: "I don't know why that keeps happening to me, but my scripts have a lot of girl-on-girl kissing." Yeah, I don't know why that happens to you either. Oh, wait — yes I do. Mischa Barton in Once and Again, circa 2002:

We still can't tell you when this t.A.T.u movie is going to be released. The film's producers told AfterEllen.com they hope it will be late 2009. What we can do, however, is make an assumption about Mischa Barton's career, based to math. It appears that she plays a lesbian/bisexual character every three years, and that each time the characters get progressively crazier. Katie was normal and endearing, Marissa was earnest but pretty much nuts, and it looks like her Russian character in You and I might be legitimately bananas. So, if my calculations are correct, Barton will be playing a full-blown lesbian sociopath in 2011. I don't know about you, but I can hardly wait. Submitted by on June 29, 2009 - 12:00pm. |

while i cant blame her for wanting to get paid to kiss girls, and i dont think any other lady here would pass up that job, i still have zero respect for her as an actress. she either shows indifference, or tears and calling her a one dimensional actress would be an unsult to the other 1D actress' out there.

This post should be renamed "Mischa Barton loves using cheap shocks while attempting to reinvigorate her stalled career". (But perhaps that is prohibitively long). But still: Wasn't the Marissa/Alex lesbian storyline on the OC a shameless ratings grab? Didn't her last movie go direct to DVD? She sucks. I think we should all just stand back and watch her career wither away to nothing. It would certainly be the humane thing to do. Let's fondly remember Lawn Dogs and leave it at that. Go away Mischa Barton. The "I like kissing girls" bit is so old.

I think Mischa and Evan back in 2002 made a bet to see who could kiss the most girls on screen. But the work had to be "ok" and porno wouldn't count. Then Mischa started the bet with Olivia. lol I'm weird.

Like Femm stated, she was in Lost and Delirious (though she was not a lesbian or bisexual in that film) and she was also in Julie Johnson as the daughter of Lili Taylor's character Julie Johnson, who was bisexual and in the film had a relationship with Courtney Love's character.
Let's see... that makes 1 lesbian role (Once and Again), 2 bisexual roles (The O.C. and You and I) and 2 roles in films dealing with lesbian/bisexual subject matter (Lost and Delirious and Julie Johnson)... just for those keeping count.
