Megan Fox is not the next CatwomanMegan Fox, I just wanted to let you know you can have this Catwoman costume — when you pry it from mine and Michelle Pfeiffer's cold, dead hands. It's none of your business what we were doing with it, and yes, we also have the whip, and it's none of your business what we were doing with that either. The point is, you and I both know that Chris Nolan is not going to cast you in the next Batman movie. It's not that you're not awesome as a &mdash what's your role in Transformers, again? Oh, right — bikini-wearer, but superheroes and robots are not the same thing.
You know who doesn't seem to know that you're not going to be the next Catwoman? The Internet. It's hard to open up Google Reader these days without finding six or seven blogs claiming that you've locked up the role. It is out of control this week, thanks to So, why don't you take some time from your busy schedule promoting Potential Catwomen now that we know this Megan Fox thing is never going to happen:
Anne Hathaway — The flip side of the corrupt Catwoman is the vulnerable Selina Kyle. You have to believe one to believe the other. We like Hathaway tortured (Rachel Getting Married), but we loved Get Smart so much that we bought it on DVD. Why not combine the tortured/action magic. That's what Batman is all about.
Eliza Dushku — She's not your typical A-lister, but part the pull of Batman is the Indie-gasm we get from seeing Maggie Gyllenhaal and Aaron Eckhart rock summer blockbusters. Dushku is a cult favorite and might be just the kind of Batman villain coup we've come to love.
Rosario Dawson — She was the voice of Artemis in the new Wonder Woman animated movie, and Catwoman's sultry inflection is almost half the battle. It's time for Dawson to make the full throttle leap to permanent superstar, and Catwoman could be the way for her to do it. Plus, Sin City proved that full-on leather agrees with her.
Emily Blunt — How about a British Selina Kyle and an American Catwoman? That'll befuddle Batman/Bruce Wayne! (Her accent throws us, that's for sure.) Like Dushku, Emily Blunt brings the Indie(ish) card into play. She doesn't have any action credentials to speak of, but after seeing her in The Devil Wears Prada, we know she'd have no trouble welding a firearm.
Eva Mendes — There is something naturally feline about Eva Mendes, and we can't overstate the importance of lips inside that Catwoman face mask. She's a seasoned green screen-er after playing Sand Saref in The Spirit, and there's no doubt she's got the seductress thing down. I Got One Question About This New Catwoman Remake
What was wrong with Halle Berry playing the sulturous bad/good-girl kitty? Why is there a need for a new Catwoman film? Okay that was two.
Oh there is need...
...cause as much as I like Halle Berry, that movie was utter crap in pretty much every department - I didn't even like the full catwoman costume. I think that Ms Berry would agree.
The mark to meet, in my opinion, is Michelle Pfiefer's potrayal of catwoman. Once they have that, they just need to build from there and they'd be set.

My mom didn't like Catwoman w/ Halle Berry at all. I liked the mythological background of catwoman but I guess a lot of people don't. I like Catwoman w/ Halleberry. Michelle actually has her beat.
If they're going to do Catwoman, I hope they add a storyline or something. Don't make a Catwoman film just to get another smokin' hot actress in a kitty suit. I need substance w/ my cat ladies. -Gen Xers at work. Speakin of Cats...do ya think they'll bring Thundercats to screen?

I love Amy Adams, but I do not think she plays the villianess role well. Adams was quite horrible in "Cruel Intentions 2." Granted, what wasn't bad about "Cruel Intentions 2?" Still, I just can't see her pulling off the dark sexiness that is Selena Kyle/Catwoman.
My vote is for Christina Ricci or Chloe Sevigny.

I can get behind this casting. as a complete batman nut, I've been having a hard time with these new incarnations. And casting catwoman is beyond difficult after lee meriwether, eartha kitt, and michelle pfeiffer. not to mention the spot on voice of Adrienne Barbeau.

If I were casting...
I'd go for Eva Green first. I think she can pull off the duality that is Catwoman just fine. And then there's that voice of hers...yummy!
I'd consider either of the Underworld chicas too...Kate Beckinsale or Rhona Mitra, they can rock that leather outfit's world.
And call me crazy but I'd love to see Julianne Moore as Batwoman/Kate Kane. I know she's prolly a bit old for the part, but whatever, she's a smokin' redhead.

I don't think any actress under 30 should even be considered for catwoman. You listed a lot of way-too-young candidates. We need a woman in the role.
(my one exception is Olivia Wilde and even then my bias for her hottness doesn't quite win out over who catwoman is).

I was reading through the comments thinking the exact same thing! Glad you pointed it out, though, saved me the trouble. For some odd reason Birds of Prey has been on my mind all day, and the thought on who I would cast as Catwoman was one of the focal points. We need someone who can pull off not just the sexy, asskicking, claw wielding....what was..oh, yeah, well not just all things Catwoman, but also the tenderness, nievety, kindness...wha-- Man not again, well also everything that embodies Selina Kyle. As far as the look, I don't know why but I'm really inclined to a lady of color. Preferably an actress that actually is of color, but I'd settle for one that can pull it off, convincingly. Eva Mendez and Jennifer Beals come to mind. Lena Olin and Sarah Shahi might be treding the edge, age wise. If it is someone white I think Kate Beckinsale could deffinetly walk in Michelle's boots, though I doubt anyone'll be able to fill them. As for Emily Blunt, I might have mentioned before, but to me she would totally kill as Oracle, but that's just me. Okay, semi-rant over.
