Lesbian Scientistics: GLAAD's Responsibility Index Edition

You know who's doing a lot of watching? Making a list and checking it twice? Nope, not Santa Claus — it's Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), that's who. Specifically, they've been poring over 6,000 hours of television from last year, and yesterday they handed out report cards to every broadcast and cable network.

GLAAD's third annual Network Responsibility Index evaluates the quality and quantity of LGBT-friendly programming on primetime television.

HBO and Showtime received the best marks because they had the highest percentage of LGBT-inclusive hours of programming. ABC ranked highest among broadcast networks, while CBS and NBC failed miserably.

You can read the entire 41-page report here, or you can let us distill the information for you with some Lesbian Scientistics:

Are you surprised by any of GLAAD's findings?

    Bring Back Erica Hahn already!

As far as ABC's concerned, they could even bring Erica back from the Parking Lot Of No Return (hell, they bring people back from the dead all the time on that crazy show, I can't see how it'd be difficult to make her walk a hundred feet)

    I agree

Even though bringing Arizona and letting her stay was nice, it doesn't really make up the Erica thing. Callie & Erica story was the best thing that's ever happened in that series, the "lack of chemistry" explanation was crappy. So ABC, I'm still bitter.

    Right??

I'm relieved I'm not the only one out there who thinks Callie and Erica were the best couple in Human History! They felt real at least, I could actually relate to the way they handled their relationship.

    Ha!

I really like that pie chart! "Don't banish anymore lesbians to the parking lot of no return" LOL Think the people over at Greys are gonna pay attention & not give Arizona the same fate?

    CBS=Otalia?

I don't understand why CBS is so low. Isn't that where Otalia is shown on Guiding Light?

    Primetime

GLAAD's report only covers primetime TV. Well, I say "only." It's still 6,000 hours of television!

    GO TEAM TINA!

they should let tina fey just take over!

she's everything tv needs these days :)

Fox sucks at conveying anything serious enough for me to watch these days, except for house and bones. what really annoys me is that stupid morning show with that sleezy yet sarcastic weather girl jullian. im just amazed steve (the old guy) is still stuck with those two blondes :) still i watch sometimes... nbc and cbs don't even exist in TV land. ABC is getting there more and more everyday, event though they are sponsored by Disney but i think ABC family won't be tasting the rainbow anytime soon...
