Kath thinks her daughter is a lesbian on "Kath and Kim"Last night's episode of Kath and Kim, aptly titled "Gay," dealt with Kath coming to terms with what she thought was Kim's lesbianism.
It all starts (as it often does) when the repair lady shows up to fix the television. Kim recognizes her as Penny Peterson, her old BFF from high school, whom everybody knew to be gay. Kath freaks out a little when Kim asks her later over mall food, "What if I was gay?"
"Oh, you could never be gay," Kath says. "You're too fashion-forward. And even if you were, Tom Cruise says you can be cured with vitamins and exercise." Check out the best gay highlights from the episode: My heating and air lady looks remarkably like Penny Peterson, only she actually is a lesbian. When lightning blew up all of my electronics and central air-conditioning this summer, my own personal Penny came to check it out. I asked her if she could prove that it was lightning so my homeowner's insurance would pay to fix my stuff, and she winked and blasted my transformer (not a euphemism) with 1.21 jiggewatts of electricity or something. There really should be a gay Yellow Pages. NBC has ordered a full season of Kath and Kim, even though the ratings and reviews are terrible. At least we got a gay-themed episode. There's nothing like a misunderstanding where "high-def capabilities" is mistaken for "lesbian sex." Submitted by on November 21, 2008 - 12:00pm. |

There's a US version of the show! huh i guess u do learn something new everyday!
Mwahxxx
Uh...
Did he just say, "It's Britney, bitch" when he attacked the guy at the bar?
Because if he did...That's amazing :0)
Thanks for brightening my day with Kath and Kim. Is there anything better than a show that has a gay-ish plotline AND Britney Spears references? Not as of yet.
That's exactly what he said
I haven't watched the
Sorry...
The Aussie version is far superior. Gina Riley and Jane Turner rock as Kath and Kim, and half the fun is that we know they are the same age in real life. Then of course theres Magda as second best friend Sharon.. Excellent!
Some of the humour wouldn't transfer to the US, such as the wedding eppy when Kim brings home a statue of little cheeses because she thought that is what Kath asked for. Kath's reaction - 'Gawd, Kim.. Little baby Jesus, Kim, Jesus!!' ROTFLMAO!!
PLEASE try to check out the Australian version, PLEASE!
Who plays Sharon?
lol!!
I know!! Sharon is so cool because shes not.. if you know what I mean..!! I love all the different sports injuries she has, and how proud she is off her 'necking' rashes!! I don't know how they are going to do the netball scenes, or the Bolton twins - Kylie and Dannii!!!!
No idea who plays her in the US..
Sharon is not in the US
Sharon is not in the US version at all... I think her character didn't translate at all! Is there netball in america?
I love Sharon...
The "statue of little baby cheeses/Jesus" I was laughing so hard i think i was crying!
"We're effluent kimmy we're effluent"
Insta-acceptance
I watched this last night and loved every minute of it. The best part was Kath's instant acceptance after reading books in Borders. Ha, if only!
I'm sure the Australian version is better, just as the British version of The Office will always be king. But we do well with what we have!

hahah love it
Kath - "I was so keen on having a lesbian daughter and being like, you know, Cher."
hahahah the overly serious sarcastic humor is the gold, these writers are amazing.
Ohh and at the end :
Kath- "Now are you sure you're not some version of gay?"
(hinting at bisexuality)
Hahaha I love how TV is embracing lesbianism and poking fun at stereotypes.
Kath & Kim is my new favorite comedy, after The Cho Show :)
yeah
yeah
The "cheesy stereotypes"
"There is homophobia in every corner and pocket of this world, but at the core ... you just love someone and want to make mixedtapes for them" -Sara Quin
Kath and Kim
Does the american version of Kath and Kim still air on Aussie television, i know our Kath and Kim airs on sunday i think.
But to see her was to love her, love but her and love forever - Robert Burns
Nope
summer broadcast
Ha!
I asked her if she could prove that it was lightning so my homeowner's insurance would pay to fix my stuff, and she winked and blasted my transformer (not a euphemism) with 1.21 jiggewatts of electricity or something.
That made me laugh.
And like someone said, I'm sure the other versions of the Office and Kath and Kim, etc. are 'far superior' etc. but I rather like these. Especially the Office. :)
This is my favourite episode
Gay Signs
can anybody please describe
I would, but...
I'm having 'computer vs. video clip' issues. ;/ Sorry.
This, "she winked and blasted my transformer (not a euphemism)."
Very cute & clever. :)
And yes- the signs in the mall- hilarious!
Comedy
Comedy pokes fun in a sarcastic way by purposely bringing attention to the subject mentioned, not actually making fun of the subject but of how the subject is perceived and treated by society, actually making fun of how others ignorantly perceive it.
