Lesbian couple rumored to be part of the new "Amazing Race"I’m not one for crappy reality TV, (oh who am I kidding, I could watch Bret Michaels search for his Rock of Love until his wig needs a wig) but the folks over at The Amazing Race have piqued my interest with the cast of characters being proposed for its 15th season. Does anyone else hear the lesbian sirens calling?
According to the site Online Poker Scene, professional queen of hearts Tiffany Michelle is confirmed for the show.
I mean, who knew such hot girls played professional poker? Normally, when I think cards, I can only picture dogs smoking cigars while wearing visors. My mind is now blown and I’m thinking that while it still has got to be one of the most boring “sports” to watch, at least there’s something pretty to look at. The site goes on to say, “Other unconfirmed reports have two Harlem Globetrotters, Miss America 2004, and a lesbian Cirque du Soleil couple appearing on the show. Each team boasts its own unique relationship such as couples, friends, brothers, sisters, mother and son, or father and daughter. The 14th cycle included the Amazing Race's first deaf contestant, Luke. It also featured Mike White, the writer behind School of Rock and Orange County.” The show has also featured lesbian contestants in previous seasons. A trapeze duo as part of Cirque de Soleil, most likely not the ones joining the show Is it my birthday already? Lesbian Cirque du Soleil couple? The possibilities are endless and my mind is proving to be more flexible than I could ever imagine it to be! I don’t think I can get to my DVR quickly enough, even if it’s just for one episode. Will you be tuning in to CBS when it debuts Sept. 27? Submitted by on July 30, 2009 - 4:00pm. |

TAR
One of my favorite shows
About time for a lesbian couple again. Every season seems to have a gay couple -- Which I am glad to see -- But let's not forget about the ladies.

Crappy? Hardly.
Uh, Hornito, are you one of those people who assumes all reality TV is the same and is all crappy? If you don't like it, that's fine, but calling The Amazing Race crappy illustrates you probably have never watched it. The show consistently wins Emmys and is loved by plenty of people who don't watch any other reality shows, myself included, because of how well-produced and good it is. It focuses on real relationships between the contestants (not forced relationships formed on camera, like the Bachelor). And it explores the cultures of the world, including countries I honestly had never heard of, not by simply showing the landscape or telling you historical facts, but by having teams perform tasks related to the daily life or livelihood of the country they are in. You, "Hornito," may not enjoy, say, country music or rap music, but that doesn't mean every single country or rap song is crappy. Please form your thoughts and subsequently your sentences better if you're going to be a writer. You've admittedly watched that disgusting Bret Micheals' dating show, so you should know all about what constitutes "crappy reality TV."
Anyway, I would be thrilled if they had a lesbian couple on the show. They have only had one other lesbian couple... and they were middle-aged ministers, so... couldn't exactly relate to them. Their racing kind of sucked and I thought they were a little boring. They have had other lesbians on the show, but not in relationships and their sexuality never came up on the show. This show has had a lot of gay men -- it's time to bring out some ladies! And maybe, they can be the first female-female team to finally win the show! That would be excellent.
oh god
no, don't start with that "we all have our opinions" cause, why didn't u just said "actually, i don't think it's crappy" and give all the reasons u gave in ur comment, but it was really necessary? really?

I'm sick of this kind of comments that criticize in such an unkind way, i don't think mia (hornito) it's a bad writer because she thinks this kind of shows are usually crappy and writes her opinion about it, and this article wasn't negative at all, so what is the purpose of your comment's tone?, it's not the first time i read this kind of things and i actually found a forum a couple of weeks ago that asked the same question, why won't anyone in here calm down and stop being so negative towards the writers?
Hello.
As we learned in grade school: Show, don't tell. "Crappy" doesn't say anything; it's just dismissive.
And shockingly, the people who are going to read a post about casting on The Amazing Race may actually enjoy The Amazing Race or reality TV in general. Another grade school lesson: Know your audience; write for your audience.
Lesbian couple
Every lesbian couple that I have seen on there has been of the elderly age. Not saying anything wrong with that but come on, show the young lesbian couples some love too. We got dreams and goals and ambitions too. Age is just a number!
Matt's world you just live in it!
Can't Wait
The Amazing Race is, by far, my favorite reality show and I'm excited for the new season to start. I'm glad to hear there's a possibility of their being another lesbian couple on the show...I hope they last longer than Pat and Kate did on Season 12.
Tiffany Michelle's not the first poker player to compete on TAR...we already know she's a better poker player than Boston Rob...let's hope she's a better racer too.
