Sleeveface: Save your old albumsSometimes a website comes along that reminds me what the internet is for. That happened this week when a friend sent me a link to Sleeveface.com. The site defines Sleeveface as "one or more persons obscuring or augmenting any part of their body or bodies with record sleeve(s), causing an illusion." They should have said "causing an illusion and awesomeness." Because it's so, so good. Here are some of my favorites so far (there are still so many I haven't seen!): Janis Joplin, by MathiasSchweppes Peaches, by sophiekingo Tina Turner (Private Dancer), by See Gee
Madonna, by solace Heart, by wigglitt Louis Armstrong, by See Gee Anne Murray, by gardenhoe Blondie, by Stephen Sleeveface How great is this concept? I don't think it should count, though, when people use CD booklets. It's all about the vinyl. Along with the website, Sleeveface is on Facebook and Flickr. I don't know if I have the necessary artistic vision, but I think I'll have to try to do something with my Lisa Whelchel album. And maybe a few others — who can resist?
If you've contributed to the Sleeveface phenomenon, be sure to post your photo or link in the comments. And if you want to give it a try, watch the "How to Sleeveface" instructional video. Submitted by on February 28, 2008 - 10:01am. |

Genius.
Gaaah. It sucks that all of my records are back home...make me want to run to the nearest Goodwill. I'm in need of a new profile pic, ^^.
...and all was well, and the world smiled.
Lisa Whelchel, bwahahahahahaha...
Wow, that's awesome, was that her "Facts of Life" greatest hits compliation....Maybe she can get pdiddy or timbaland to remix it for her, that would be off the hook!! ;-)
Poor me.
Pity I don't have any vinyl. I was born in the audio cassette era and am growing up in a constantly evolving world of CDs and DVDs.
