Muppet memories: Liza and Rita reinvent the classics

You might have noticed that I'm a Muppet fan. I have many fond memories of The Muppet Show and have been known to search for clips when I need cheering up. So I was thrilled to come across one of my favorite skits, an interpretation of "Copacabana" — and was also stunned to realize I had completely forgotten that Liza Minnelli played Lola the showgirl!

This explains so much about my psyche, not to mention my CD collection.

    I love the one with Rita Moreno! Often look at it when I need a little pick me up! :)

    The Liza episode was from Season 4. It was a murder mystery!

    THANKS, Scribegrrrl for feeding me a muppet story.  It makes my friday even better.  I can't wait for Season 2 to come out on DVD.  My girlfriend is getting it for me for Christmas for sure.  I play Season 1 (that I got last Christmas) when I need a pick me up on the weekend.  I'm partial to Kermee but my girlfriend loves the hospital.

    Raquel was an early crush for me (before I really understood why I was so "smitten";-) )

    What a classy (sexy) woman!

    The same could be said of that sizzlin' talent...Rita Moreno!

    Kermit: "You painted them gold right?"

    Scooter: "No..sort of a rust color"

    Kermit: "Scooter!! Shirley Bassey can't sing rust-finger!!"

    Love that episode.
