"Lost" season 4 trailer

Last week, ABC announced that Lost will return Jan. 31, airing Thursdays at 9 (yes, that's currently Grey's Anatomy's spot, but new episodes of Grey's will soon run out because of the writers' strike). Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof considers the time change a great move because it means the show won't have to compete with American Idol.

Here's a new trailer for the fourth season — this one is a little longer than the teaser released last week:

I know many viewers gave up on Lost last season (or maybe way before that), but I'm still watching. And considering the imminent dearth of well-written TV, it looks even more appealing. The trailer is obviously intended to inspire questions, like who dies? Who makes it home? Is it better to stay on the island or flee? Most important, why such brief glimpses of Elizabeth Mitchell?

Executive producer Carlton Cuse promises answers this year: The first half of the season will set up some mysteries, but the second half will tie up all the loose threads. Cuse knows that some fans think the question-to-answer ration has been way off:

“The audience just needs to be warned,” Cuse said. “There’s a very cool cliffhanger at the end of the eighth episode. But most of the major questions were designed to get answered at the second half of the season. The whole idea that we’re actually looking forward as well as looking back is something we’re very excited about as storytellers. But there is a fear that if the strike continues and we’re not able to complete the season, that people might feel a little frustrated because those eight episodes aren’t conclusive.”

And it's true that Lost fans are downright rabid. You can peruse a Lost wiki, read a slew of message boards, and boggle your mind with sites that ponder those puzzling numbers.

I'm not into all of that, but I wouldn't say no to a Dharma Rubik's Cube this holiday season.

There's also a Kate action figure.

And a Sun action figure.

Again, where's Juliet? How am I supposed to act out a three-way without a Juliet action figure?

Where is the link for the "Lost" trailer?

Scribegrrrl, I love you and your snarky spot-on reviews, but what happened to the link for the "Lost" Season 4 trailer?  There's nothing there!

And yes, I am also a huge Elizabeth Mitchell fan!  She gets the "You Are Hot" bunny!

    yeah

i know the show has gotten a little meandering and times, and the question-to-answer ratio has been way skewed...but...

this show is still fascinating as hell and i am there until the bitter end. i can't leave a mystery halfway through...i must KNOW!!!

    Love Lost!!

I love Lost!!  But I can understand that some folks just get plain frustrated with the whole lack of answers thing and sometimes it does seem to ramble a bit.  But here is why I really like this show.

    1) Kate and Julia are HOT!

    2) The basic way the show is written (not always the details as in the way it rambles sometimes) but the way it is written is brilliant and very different from anything else.  If you really get into mysteries and dive deeper than just watching the show they have actually crossed the line between fiction and reality many times and it is brilliant.  Example:  A character on the show actually published a novel that you can buy at any bookstore....yes a fictional character not the actor playing the character.  Example 2: Dharma is a real company that exists and does odd think tank type experiments.  So I think it is some brilliant writing when it takes me beyond just watching the show and into more of the mystery.

    3) The characters are multi-dimensional.  The main characters anyway aren't pure good or pure evil.  They all have some good and some bad so you aren't always sure how they will react in a given situation.  Now of course I have sat there sometimes like everyone else and been really pissed off when they have made a character do something I didn't like....but it isn't my hand on the script.

    4) Did I mention that Kate and Julia are HOT!!!

    More Lost questions

Wait what? Which character published a novel? And Dharma is a real company as in really real? lol...really? I thought I was a fairly observant LOST fan but didn't know either of those things. Very interesting...just when I thought I couldn't have any more questions!

    Sorry, Elizabeth Mitchell

Sorry, Elizabeth Mitchell is NOT looking her best on Lost, gimme Evangeline Lilly (Kate), Yunjin Kim (Sun), Michelle Rodriguez (Ana Lucia), Emilie de Ravin (Claire), Tania Raymonde (Alex), or Lana Parrilla (Greta, AKA Hot Sorta Dykey Woman Who Lasted a Total of Two Episodes) any day!

And yes, I only continue to watch this show because of the hotties on it.

    Lost on Lost

I have kept up watching it but i admit to being a little lost on what in the heck is going on.  I hope we get some resolution in the next segment of the show.

Thanks for the update and trailer.

    Watch Lost again

I hope the 4th season will pick up the same pace as in 1st season. Now I gotta go back  and buy Lost's dvd pack Season 1-3 to figure out where the next season is headed. I'm glad Lost won't be in the way of AI time slot. Smart move on producers part. AI is way too popular.

I'm in Vibe this month...pick up a copy..check me out and then put it back on the stand. thanks.

    Can't Wait

I love this show and the season finale last year was brillant.  I was so happy that I avoided spoilers so I could really experience the episode.  I can't wait to see who else got off the island and who died..etc...
