Jennifer Garner's daytime TV dreams
I'll admit it: I sometimes have a difficult time distinguishing actors from their roles. I know that if I were to see Erin Daniels on the street, I'd say, "Oh, my God! You're alive!" And if Elizabeth Mitchell were to cross my path, I'd wonder why the jungle had turned to concrete — or, more likely, where Dr. Weaver is. But I don't think my occasional inability to separate fantasy from reality is the reason I can't get my head around the idea of Jennifer Garner creating a daytime talk show. I mean, daytime on which continent in which hemisphere?

To me, she just doesn't seem like the daytime type. But Garner and Lauren Sanchez-Whitesell (the former host of So You Think You Can Dance) are hoping to produce something they call "The View for mothers." Wait — I think that show already exists. You know, the one where everybody talks about kids all the time. Oh, that's right: It's called The View.

Sigh. I know, I know: She's not really Sydney Bristow. But if I ever tune in (accidentally, most likely) to this as-yet-untitled mommy-rific show, I'm sure I'll be waiting for Garner to suddenly put on a wig and announce that she has to go to Bucharest. Now that would be a cool mommy.

Hmmm...................
I'm with you scribe... just can't picture it. I just expect her to be kicking someone's ASS.
Can't wrap myself around that one at all.
Wow, what a concept. They
Wow, what a concept. They can have other celebrity moms on with their kids and they all can sit around and talk about how hard it is being a mom and working and raising kids and fun subjects like teething and poop.
I'd be really excited, except for that whole "I couldn't care less, auuugh -- make the channel go away quickly" thing I'm feeling.
Awe wth, Jennifer? Say it ain't so. Looks like Ben Affleck, the wig-wearing, lesbian-slayer, has sucked all the badass coolness out of yet another hot chick.
Lauren Sanchez? She is pretty much a fembot. When you can get fired off SYTYCD, that's pretty much the end of the road career-wise, isn't it. I'm mean, maybe there's still QVC.
This sounds horrible.
I was an Alias fan from day one and adore JG, but I can't imagine her doing a talk show at all. This mommy orgy promises to be particularly heinous. I hope it doesn't really happen.
Waste of Talent?
I'll admit - I'm neither here nor there with JG - but what bothers me is that it seems like suddenly she's had a child, a lovely daughter granted, and suddenly that seems to make her an expert, thus giving her the right to create/produce/what-have-you a talk-show?
Oh! I recently gave birth to Athena. Does this mean I'll get my own talk-show about the trials and tribulations of raising a God for a daughter? What's that? I'm not famous? I didn't settle the unsettle-able bachelor, Ben Affleck? My name's not Bennifer? Wow, must have missed that post-it...
what's with talkshows lately?
i dnt know about u guys, but it seems to me EVERYONE wants to have a talk show... take tyra for example... or rachel ray... or sarah warn... hahaha just kidding sarah we all love she said what!!!
terrible idea
i'm sure she's a great mom, and she does have one cute kid.
still, i think to build any kind of interest in a daytime talk show, the proposed host should at least have a credible reputation of being capable of leading and being the focal point of an entire show.
and not to be anti-kids or anything, but if it's to be a "view for mothers," um, ho-hum! i know mother's day just passed, and i do love my own mum, but at the same time, mothers and their kids are overrated and just so totally over-done. it's disgusting. and such a show would not last long because there's only so many topics the show could cover before things got to be redundant. put it on the parenting channel (is there such a thing?) if you must, but please not on daytime television!
mothers doting over kids is just so obnoxious. this jg show better not happen!
