TV alert: "Damages" finale tonight

It's been a bumpy first season for Damages. I've eagerly anticipated every episode, and I've even felt reasonably satisfied each time the credits have rolled — especially if I've been treated to a gratuitous shot of Glenn Close strutting in her perfectly tailored trousers.

So I'll be sad to see it go, but I'll be really, really glad to get some answers. Did Patty Hewes get her hooks into absolutely everyone, including Rose Byrne's character's husband's stalker? (Ouch, sorry about that.) Does Patty have any kind of moral center? Has Ellen Parsons become just as heartless and evil? And above all, what the hell are they going to do next season?!

The finale is tonight on FX — it airs twice back-to-back, so watch it and then watch it again. You know, for the eye candy if nothing else.

    Damages

I'm kind of alarmed that next season might involve Ellen's trial. I really, really hope that they're not going to do that to the viewers. Otherwise, I'm glued to this show. Not like my glue to The Closer, but still pretty close.

This is one series I admit to having watched online. I wish this would come out on DVD in Europe without even having been aired on t.v. Because who wants this brilliantly crafted show dubbed in German and have all the Earl Anthonys and Ho-Hos reduced to absolutely un-funny phrases?

I love this show. And I'm sure, I'll buy this on DVD if they ever decide to make it available. Although the body count is pretty high on this show, I have found myself drawn to the absolutely well-portioned plot and the well-written and well-acted characters. While I not always like totally unreliable characters in terms of morality, here it doesn't seem to bother me at all. I wanna know how it all plays out in the series finale.

I hope, the second season won't be Ellen's trial although I'm seeing it going that way. Before the 12th episode I thought the producers would have to do what "24" did. Keep two or three main characters and do a whole new story. I couldn't even see Patty Hewes in the new season. But now she doesn't seem so guilty. And I really hope Glenn Close can be in it again. The series needs her.

Anyway, I'm very curious as to what's going to happen...
