We're Getting Nowhere: "The L Word" 5.2

This week the terrible three talk about how to hand-signal your way out of a bad lesbian pickup, why they'd "click up" with Kit/Pam Grier if they ever had the opportunity, and which celebrity mother/daughter duos they find do-able (it's not as gross as it sounds).

In between tangents, they also recap the latest episode of The L Word, complete with puppet prison sex and a reenactment of the ridiculous scene of the bridesmaids running after Shane at the end of the episode. You know they had to go there!

The reinactment of Helena & Dusty with sock puppet & male doll was possibly the least attractive thing I've ever seen ;)

If memory serves me right (and it usually doesn't, I had a lot of fun in the 80's) the Dusty Doll was also the Aiden doll on the SON blogs. Maybe it's time for another trip to the .99 cent store. Or perhaps a "guest star" sock-puppet who can represent any newcomers. Wait and see if they survive the L Word love 'em and leave 'em curse.

with me and my friends. (If it only it was true.I would make food and cocktails!) Anyways, since sunday I was looking forwatd to this. The sock puppets were hilarious and for sock puppets acting it was dead on! I too thought the chick was hot that Tina totally messed it up with. I want her back! I too also loved that Helena was getting turned on by her roommate cause she would. Also, I too was DYING about the shower scene. We totally got set up!! I was like "OOOHH!! eeww!!" Then I started laughing cause that is not a normal shower scene. Damn IC!

Shower scene re-enactment was hilarious. "I put the oofa in loofa" LOL

Karman and Jillie chasing after the car screaming like madmen (I mean girls :P )....

Loved the "save me" segment. how could one NOT understand these gestures..... watching Jill doing these gestures while Karman doesnt get it must be hilariously funny when they go out.

Ok, that was the lamest opening joke I've ever seen! Haha!

For some reason it looked like Jennifer was having a lot of fun making the opening. She has this smirk:p But shane and bette together, I don't know... Looked weird to me. But so did bette an helena.

Oh wow the whole Bette and Shane make out session seriously made me shout out "Nooo! Bad bad bad!". But I absolutely loved Bette and Helena together, even though it was quite a shock to my brain, because I've never imagined those two together, it was still sorta hot. lol Tina is total bottom. I wouldn't mind seeing her in more sex scenes, I mean come on she's hot.

I too was wondering what the hell Shane was doing! What the fuck, is she using her mind? I mean who would be packin' at straight wedding. If I think about all the things that don't make sense in this show my brain would start to hurt.

I really like that they used real bodies instead of models. I'll admit I missed the eye candy but good for them for having at least one thing seem real in that fake-ass prison.

I wanna a forward/backward cowboy shirt too!

I think everyone and their mom thought Dusty was playing with lil Dusty. It would've made Dusty so much cooler in my mind.

I so hope Sarah Shahi makes a guest appearance at the end of the season like Erin did. I love her new character but I really miss Carmen. Oh god do I miss her. So hot so awesome.

I'd just like to say y'all were definitely NOT the only ones wondering how Shane is constantly "prepared" for her sexual encounters. It was the subject of serious debate at our LWord night. We concluded maybe Shane's like a mixer, she just comes equipped with different attachments. Now doesn't THAT put the KitchenAid monstrosity Adele bought for Jenny's wedding present in a WHOLE new light? We also concur on the whole "She's All That" moment impending for Adele, what we THOUGHT was going on with Dusty before we realized she was having a nightmare, and on Jodi's tragic run in with the crimp iron. There's obviously some lesbian mind melding going on here...either that or this show has lost all semblance of subtlety...not that it had much to lose in the first place.

That made my day... you three always make me laugh no matter what you're talking about. The fact that you're recapping TLW is sweet. The cat's appearances were great and you all appeared oblivious to her... very funny. It's not all fun and games on your show either. You tackled some hard hitting questions like "What's going on with Shane and the forward cowboy position?" and "Did anyone else think at first that Dusty was doing something other then having a nightmare?". I always wondered that about Shane and kind of figured she just always kept a strap on... well, strapped on. I sort of figured ths out in Season 3 when she steps out on Carmen and has sex with Cherie Jaffie by the pool. It looks like it anyway.

The Shane storyline seemed sooo far fetched. What does she have bottled that she can turn otherwise straight women into insta - lesbians.

Great recap ladies. Loved the special appearance by the cat (Mr. Piddles?)

Oh and how great was Mia this episode. Heee larious

Karmen you're not alone. I don't mine seeing Nina/Tina having sex. and I too was never really keen on the Phyllis/Joyce relationship buts it's grown on me and blossomed into some hilarious scenes.

I just want to take off my hat to the women in the shower scene, takes a lot of guts to shade your clothes off to shoot a nude scene, especially when you don't fall into what society finds beautiful. Kudos to whoever was in charge of the casting. That's all I have to say.
