Ghostella's Haunted Tomb: "Noir D’Ivoire"

Join wannabe horror host Ghostella (Heidi Martinuzzi) as she tries to decipher the hidden meaning in the surrealist French horror film Noir D’Ivoire (1962).

Even if film noir isn't your thing, watch just for Ghostella's argument with her uninvited guest. And the last two minutes. Genius.

    Brilliant. That was the best

Brilliant. That was the best parody. The pretentious European surrealist film style was just right, especially at the beginning with all the different shots. And that was the second worst French I've ever heard; sheer hilarity! This keeps getting better and better. Can't wait for more.

    I'm spooked.

I don't know if I should be, but I'm scared. It was dark and rainy while I watched it though, so that didn't help.

anyway I thought that was awesome...especially the sidekick part.

    Totally agree, best yet.

Totally agree, best yet. Ghostella (who has no sidekick) "what the hell was that?" I've found myself asking that same question many times.

    Thank you

That was awesome. Especially the interpretation at the end *snicker*

I'm going to send the link to all my supposedly intellectual artistic friends, who made me sit through one too many bad film noirs, including long serious discussions afterwards about what it all meant.

    LOVE the screaming cat!

    classic

Corpsella's interpretation took me back to my college poetry class; you had to either come up with some b.s. meaning or fail. I got really good at pretending to be intellectual. (It's all in the inflection.)

and yes, I actually reversed the audio to hear the "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir"

Voulez vous watche' the vlog avec moi?

This was the funniest one yet.  Stacie is hysterical as Corpsella!

I am fascinated by the transformation of Ghostella in each episode.  She keeps looking more and more ragged/haggard/disheveled.  We never found out what happened with her g/f.

Keep up the great work ladies, it's a joy to behold!!

    Rydia Auften's picture

    Loved it!

Stacie Ponder is AMAZING! I love this series!

I swear it, I actually felt scared when the scary faces would suddenly appear.  So far, the Ponder roomy is the best interrupter (but I still laugh my ass off when "Jen" breaks up with Ghostella--just because its so inconvenient) and I hope she'll appear again sometime (but not everytime).

Anyway, the movie looked good, great sound effects, can't wait for more.

    Now I remember, why I

Now I remember, why I usually don't like Horror-movies: I spilled coffee all over myself the first time the white face appeared and I think I had a minor heart-attack!!

    The screaming Cat? ROFLMAO!!!!!

    Great Vlog!

    ich schicke dir: LIEBE

OMG, the title came from alone by entering an "i" into the subject box - it says (in a kind of esoteric sort of way) "I'm sending you: LOVE ... I don't know whats scarier - Stacie with the white mask, or my lovestricken PC ...

well, originally I wanted to write:

    Stacie, your AWESOME!!

I want to be Ghostella when I grow up

This was just too effin' hilarious.  Kudos to the cast and crew. Loved the screaming cat and Corpsella's film studies analysis at the end. Man, I miss those college film studies classes.  : )
    stephanieallen82's picture

    The ending...

....was definitely the BEST part!  I'm still laughing!

Great job, Stacie, as usual!! :o)

    Le Awesome!

This movie was so spot-on, I'm not sure it actually qualifies as a parody.

"I guess I should have paid more attention in Spanish class." - yep, I feel your pain, Ghostella.

    Brilliant.

    OMG Stacie with the glasses

OMG Stacie with the glasses and the French speaking was so funny, I love how this is so random and it's really different each week. Also, when the woman turned around I was expecting some scary mask lol and instead I saw a mustache, that was genius!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There is too much love in this world to have to deal with hate.

    i'm actually scared!!

i suppose sitting in my room in the dark watching this at midnight doesn't help. those masks scared me! i was expecting something really bad when the woman turned around and instead it was a moustache, i laughed. loved the screaming cat and Corpsella. i felt just like Ghostella at the end. Corpsella's interpretation reminded me of my art history class, make up something good about the painting and you'll get an "A".

love the series, love the glasses Stacie. thanks.

    BRILLIANT!!

I know that Stacie is producing these short films for about a dollar each and I honestly think based on that she is the MOST brilliant producer/writer/director/cineematographer/prop-master/character-actor-comedian in the HISTORY of film.

This short was the best yet and I laughed my ass off. I especially loved the mustached women, ghostella's distrracting white thighs, the pretentious acting, the fluttering and bulging eyeballs, the miscue with the tape recorder, the lewd eggplant, but esp. the film commentary done by Corpsella, the pesky and unwanted sidekick.

    BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!!

Make a feature film Stacie! I'd hire you if I won the lottery.

    Lezliemac's picture

    La véritable problématique ici est

was it really the cat screaming ? Or was it the eggplant?

My frenchness obviously grants me a greater understanding of all nonsensical dumb pretentious WTF movies. I can therefore assure you, with outstanding arrogance (and a very strong accent), that the aubergine actually stands for the inner watermelon of moustache girl. Or was it the skull ? Can't recall. The rain abuse has washed away all my braincells...

    Stacie Ponder, you are BRILLIANT.
Ghostella, for private French lessons, call me...

    spotticus's picture

    hahahaha! Brilliant comment!

Perhaps it was the eggplant screaming.  Your comment cracks me up!  That is why "Ghostella's Haunted Tomb" rocks.

    I just "discovered" this

I just "discovered" this tonight and watched all the episodes in one sitting. Totally hilarious, and I now have a crush on Ghostella. And consequently, Stacie Ponder for creating this whole thing.

I can't decide what I like better, Ghostella's interjections or the ridiculously awesome "films" she's showing. The whole breaking character thing reminds me of SNL's "Goth Talk" - I imagine the connection's probably already been made.

    Bring back Corpsella!

    Sheer brilliance.
