Anyway, the first episode was funny, and Dana and Fletcher are so cute! ^.^ Can't wait for the next episodes! Who knows what kind of trouble might arise now that Fletcher starts to work for her ex (even if only indirectly).

Kudos to competion judges
Great choice by the judges.
I'm wondering if the leather cuff 'Fletch' wears is from the much acclaimed supplier, Lucky Dog Leather?
Just imagine what could've been done with some cash to match the enthusiasm!
Good luck with the rest of the series....

Georgie (Dana) does look a
Georgie (Dana) does look a lot like Amy Lee.
The series looks great. I'm looking forward to more episodes.
There's nothing original about this new web series.
It appears that the creator of this series watched one too many "Rockford Files" before putting pen to paper. Even the character's names are rehashed from old detective TV shows. The performances were flat and unbelievable. And, yet, it won the contest for best new web series. I guess that goes to show that most lesbian entertainment is still just Goddess awful.
Thank the Goddess for 3Way! At least there are some lesbians in the entertainment industry who have talent. They just aren't working on this series.
wow...so unnecessarily hars
wow...so unnecessarily harsh and inaccurate in my opinion. You have to realize that it is a cop show and that its going to be influenced by some of the classics. This dosen't mean that its a rip off. Hell, even 3 Way (which I absolutely Love) took themes from other lesbian shows and stereotypes. I imagine (and i don't want to put words into anyone's mouths here) that the character names might be in homage to past characters or tongue in cheek. I mean, George Drew--Nancy Drew? I also think the plot hasn't be advanced enough to rate the series yet.
Plus, this is the intro episode--so the things that you don't like may be fixed as the series goes along. Again, even 3 Way was a little slow at the beginning and then picked up quick as the actors got more into their characters and the storylines advanced.
I also thought the performances were great--BJ totally sold the slightly inept P.I. for me with the beginning sequence and her confrontation with her ex was believable to me. Good on you B.J. Fletcher cast/crew/writers!
I just think that your comment is unfair. And saying that most lesbian entertainment is bad? that's not exactly supporting the community now is it?
sydneyB, you are correct!
Thanks for your insights!
You are correct, the characters in B.J. Fletcher are so named in homage and tribute to some of my favourite mystery and detective characters from years past.
I felt the detective genre would be interesting to explore with lesbian protagonists. There is still much in store for Fletcher and George!
I agree
that this was uneccessarily harsh. Giving constructive criticism is one thing, but outright telling someone they don't have talent is just mean spirited.
Also, for the record, I don't agree with her opinion at all. I thought the first part was a great beginning. Of course it's going to be a little rough in the beginning stages. Even many shows that make it onto television start out a little rougher than they end up after the actors get more situated in their roles and the director gets comfortable with the material. Plus, it takes money to create high quality entertainment, and my guess is that this is a pretty low budget project which makes it that much more impressive in my opinion.
honestly...
It is styled as a campy PI show and no, it is not completely original, but most campy PI shows are that way.
That said, the only thing that seems to work in the show is the camera work and the bartender. The rest are still overacting in a new series. The beginning kissing scene looked like so many lets-show-2-women-kissing scenes, no passion, didn't even convince me that the two women had met before the production.
Please, please do something about the bartender's hair. She can be sooo beautiful. But someone decides her hair should look like Elvis with hair extensions. Aye, to each her own, I guess.
Why is there no tape in the recorder? Is that intentional? The prop doesn't seem to work for me when she was putting down her thoughts. Maybe funnier if her mental dictation continues on screen like her survelleince reports.
My 2 cents, not trying to be harsh, but do know that you can do so much better. I can see BJ as a comic, just tie the who thing in when you do dramatic timing. Excellent effort, truly. Whoever's cutting it is doing something right.
Please, keep telling us everything you don't like
Well, it sure is the first time I watched a gay PI show.
I loved it. Thought it was very funny....especially the talking into the recorder. Oh and the barfing bucket. Priceless.
More please.

Who doesn't blog these days?
Huh?
Well said!
Well said! I fully agree, that we are honored to have so many options now. I am so happy that there are so many talented people "coming out" and representing our community. What they do is challenging, both finacially and creatively. Everyone who makes anything for all to see deserves to be commended and celebrated for their contribution to the GLBT community.
The fact that Regan and her cast and crew did this without any money, shows the passion and commitment they have. I believe they are showing the world what they can do and how much they want to represent the community.
Regan and her cast and crew have great potential to do even better productions with an actual budget to work with. I hope that money offers come their way, so that they can keep doing what they obviously love to do.
CHEERS to all involved in the creation of B.J. Fletcher Private Eye!!
great writing, great performances!
i loved the exchange between Majorie and BJ that went something like:
M: "still working on your novel?"
B: "you've gotten fat"
Loved the confrontation between the exes! awesome line and the delivery was hilarious and their scene only got funnier. Also think George is pretty f-ing funny. Great job ladies! Thanks for bringing this too us and I look forward to watching more. And I definitely outtakes think are necessary!
!
"And I see you've gotten fat."
Wow. I'm almost grateful Regan wasn't been discovered before this so all of us AfterEllenites can say we knew her when. ;)
This was incredibly well done. I laughed out loud so many times. And is it wrong I'm already shipping George and Fletch? I mean, come on, the "you deserve better" scene was too cute.
"There's all KINDS of gravity here"-I'm stealing that the next time I get drunk, hope you don't mind. :)
i like
In the opening scene our
In the opening scene our hero gets hit with a hard right yet later in the bar she would have had to have been hit with a left. Other than that small detail it was amusing enough. Oh and sorry but Fletch is already taken as a detective name...
Good catch!
