Turn around, bright eyes: a literal "Total Eclipse of the Heart"
When my sister and I were kids, there were a few songs in particular we liked to play over and over again, when we weren't playing Abba records: Michael Jackson's "Thriller," Corey Hart's "(I Wear) Sunglasses at Night," Juice Newton's "Queen of Hearts" and Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart." (Yes, we had eclectic taste — and I'm not even getting into all the Dolly Parton and Crystal Gayle albums we owned and loved.)
So you can imagine my thrill when I was forwarded this hilarious new spoof of the classic 1983 music video for "Total Eclipse of the Heart," which spoofer dascottjr describes this way:
"Ever wish songs just sang what was happening in the music video? Well now they do, in my sixth take on Dusto McNeato's 'literal video' concept!"
So, where you would normally hear the lyrics, "I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark, we're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks," you hear this:
Singer Persephone Maewyn does a great job mimicking Tyler's distinctive voice, and lyrics are clever — I'm impressed at how they managed to work in references to TV shows, movies, classic literature, and feathered hair.
But enough explaining — it must be seen to be believed. So watch it! Right now!

Yup, my favourite line as well.
One of the most endearing memories I have is of my brother at 16. It was Christmas and he had received a pair of sunglasses, a Walkman and a mixed tape of latest hits that included Cory Heart's 'Sunglasses at night'. He was laying on a beanbag, sunglasses on (eyes obviously closed) listening and singing along to Cory's hit. Not a good choice for my brother is tone deaf and can't sing to save himself. He lay there tossing and turning (dancing bean bag style) with all of us standing over him watching. If only video cameras were a dime a dozen in those days. He still gets mad when we bring that one up.

What the effin' crap
Hehe, I've been watching this this week as well. There are some really bad viral videos out there, but this is one of the best new ones. I love it when the singer can actually somewhat sing. The worst ones not only aren't funny, but they have a horrible singer doing it.

Oh my lawdy that was funny. I thought I'd seen the funniest Bonnie Tyler video...well I still think it's hilarious. It's a french version of Turn Around she did with some famous french singer. Only it's quite clear Bonnie is drunk as a skunk and her attempts at french singing are funny cos she throws in english words for the heck of it. Plus if you watch the video closely you'll see that she is trying to hit the french singer with the cuop. I can't seem to find it at the moment on youtube, will try and link.
