SHE MADE ME WATCH THIS! March 24, 2008As promised, Lori and I are finally back on the interweb with a new episode of She Made Me Watch This! This week, we talk about that ridiculous
We also wander off-topic to discuss how Lori spent her time in Alaska; why the apartment is completely re-arranged every time I come home from work these days; and how I supposedly don't treat my iPods very well (is it my fault they don't like being dropped?). There's also a near-miss with one of the bunnies that gives Lori a mild heart attack on-camera. Good times! One apology: Because we had to marathon the last few episodes of Lipstick Jungle in order to talk about it for the vlog, we didn't get started on filming this until late in the evening, and by the time we got to a decent take, we were more than a little sleepy (I think it was around 2am). So we're sorry if our energy was a little low on this one — we're definitely going to start earlier next time! Speaking of next time — if there's interest, we thought we'd add a segment at the end of SMMWT! answering reader questions related to TV and movies (so, not questions about AfterEllen.com in general or personal advice questions, more like "when is X show coming out on DVD?" and "why did they cancel [fill in the blank], or "What do you think of the show Y?"). I find on ANTM they either seriously screw up someone's hair or make it look great. If I was Marvita I'd take the next taxi to the nearest hairdresser, even if its name is "Sweeny Todd's"
Loved the outtake :) Maybe you should go on the next season of ANTM - think of the great haircuts they have to offer
Most people are offbeat on the first few episodes of Strictly Come Dancing (UK Dancing with Stars) - she looked great though, and if that was the first episode then that was also pretty impressive as a lot of people tend to look like they are trying to stamp out a dance mat pattern on their first try...and she didn't

I'm so glad you guys are finally back! I never commented on anything on AfterEllen before (I lurk) but this definitely deserves my first comment! I've missed you guys sooo much!
As for a question, mine is about a Webseries, not a TV show or movie. I hope that's okay! :)
When is Girltrash! coming back? I've been assuming like..never. -_-; But I thought maybe the oh-so powerful Sarah & Lori would maybe know SOMETHING. I'm going insane since now The L Word is over AND no SoN until Fall. This blows.

Some Girltrash Info
Back in December Girltrash was shown at the Hong Kong International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, which was really cool, and it got a really good response. They put all the episodes together in to one long episode, which I think would have been really cool to see.
As for when it will be back, it's hard to say. Lisa from Killola, who plays Daisy in the series, has told the K)) fans that there's some new stuff in the works, for example, a Girltrash graphic novel. But that's all I've really heard from her.
The only sure thing is that it's definitely not over. It will be back...eventually.
I'll ask her if she knows when it's supposed to start back up, but I doubt she'll even know for sure. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see.
Next time I see her, or even leave a comment for her on MySpace, I'll ask her if she's heard anything new, cause I really want the series to come back as well.

It's great to have you guys back. As for questions, i have just one:
What do you know about DVD releases for 'Itty Bitty Titty Committee' and 'Out at the Wedding'? I just assume they're still playing at film festivals or something because i haven't heard anything about them since reviews first followed their releases. I never get the chance to go to film festivals and i always end up missing out on movies like these. So if you've heard anthing about DVDs, please feel free to share.

Sarah, I was reading the book "Reading The L Word" and was pleasantly surprised to disover that you wrote some of the articles!
I LOVE Top Model. I thought my feminist views would be constantly offended on that show (I thought the show would be all about "this girl is too fat to model" comments and other BS), but I was pleasantly surprised.
Marvita was my favorite, I was so sad to see her go. But I can't stand Tyra. Did you catch the part a few weeks ago when Tyra was saying that on her talk show, she posed as a homeless person. She said it like "I was homeless....for TWO WHOLE HOURS." And Marvita and Fatima were actually homeless in the past!
The outtakes were priceless!

So Sarah & Lori, next time my company rents out a conference room at the Hilton for a Rock Band competition, you want to compete? Seriously, we had a Rock Band concert about a month ago and about 20 teams from easy level to expert. I've never played, but seeing people playing and singing to the 'expert' level songs was insane. Well, okay, you couldn't compete since you don't work here, but you could come watch! ;)
Lastly, right on with the advice of not rolling your eyes to your boss or coworkers! And sighing. Or sighing -and- rolling your eyes. Man, that drives me nuts!

Yeah the Lipstick jungle kiss/attempted threesome was wierd. My problem with LJ is that Niko has way too much sex.
The TV landscape is really bare. Just alot of crappy reality TV. Man can April get here soon enough.
I cannot get myself to actually really watching Dancing with the stars. I always feel like the contestants are gonna fall over and alot of the time the music sucks. The only thing I can watch is the judges commentry. I did catch Marlee's dance though. After the first season of Idol I was over it. It's decline is inevitable I just hope it's soon.
ANTM- the only reality show I watch. I think they didn't have much to work with concerning Marvita's hair. She came in with a bad haircut so they had to make it work.

Actually, if you look at the list of vlogs at the top left of your screen you'll see that the ones about TV are in a minority. (3 about TV against 11 which aren't, if you're interested.) If you don't want to watch a vlog about TV then...well...don't? Seems a lot simpler than changing the whole vlog which, by the way, is great just the way it is.

Well, this is a COMMENT site...lol and as usual I do have comments.
I think what I wanted to say is that out of the few vlogs that i can bare to watch, this is one of the really great ones because the two hot, i mean intelligent hosts are a pleasure to listen to.
It would be nice if they branched out in their approach to reviewing 'media'. Since media covers just about ANYTHING visual, and not just tv media, there are many many formats of media.
Would like to see more intelligent coversation, funny stuff, not just play by plays of tv shows.... i mean...it is boring.
Doesn't mean I don't respect the SHEMADEMEWATCHTHIS babes, women, gurls whatever...there is always room for improvement.

I guess I just don't get it
SMMWT doesn't just cover TV; they talk about movies too. There's already a seperate vlog for gaming so what else 'visual' is there to talk about? Theatre, I guess, but then you're restricting your audience even further - we don't all have Broadway on our doorsteps after all.
All in all it seems you don't enjoy SMMWT much so, to spare yourself a 'slow death', surely it would make sense just not to watch it? I mean, they like watching TV and movies, they decided to make a vlog about it, and they have succeeded very well. If what they set out to make is not what entertains you then just don't watch. It seems really simple to me.

OMG American Idol has/had really cool people - David Archuleta and Danny Noriega, who got kicked off unfortunately. I like them a lot and they're so young and talented... I just youtube their performances and don't watch the show.
