It's "Must-See Bunny TV" in this week's episode of She Made Me Watch This! Of the 29 shows we started out watching this season, find out which ones are still on our must-see list (besides Bones), which ones we've given up (besides Private Practice), and which we're on the fence about (get it together, Reaper!). Then we review two TV shows released on DVD this week: The L Word Season 4, and Veronica Mars Season 3.
Along the way, there's tangential reminiscing about Dynasty and Moonlighting, a pie chart, and a rant from Lori about why the road to hell is paved with insubordination.
Watch it here now... Submitted by on October 26, 2007 - 5:03pm. |

Okay, normally I try to have
about to watch the vlog.
I miss Dana too *tear*
James Spader, that's the name and I think he's creepy, I've thought that ever since I saw him in The Watcher with Keanu Reeves...
I'm disappointed to hear that Private Practice is not good :( ...Kate Walsh is amazing as Addison, she should go back to Seattle Grace.
Cane is coming out on november, would you advice me to stay away from it? or should I go ahead and give it a try?
I agree with Lori about the Papi character, I haven't watched Season 4 but I'm mexican (latinamerican) and when I saw the preview and most importantly, when I saw what they chose to replace Carmen, I was very disappointed and I indeed thought it was a little too much...but eventhough I refused to watch the show again (after they killed Dana and got rid of Carmen) I'll probably end up getting it at Blockbuster :S
I like you, and the my eyes my eyes bunny rocks!!!
"i don't suffer from insanity...i enjoy every minute of it"
Bionic woman makes me sad
Just a heads up!

You are welcome.
Wow, you are fast.
:)
Kristen Bell on Heroes
Absolutely Brilliant.
Watched it a day after it came out and it rocked.
Kristen brings all the Good that Veronica was to the Bad that Elle is.
And she is HOT

Helena...in prison. Nuff said.
When you were talking about some shows' inability to transfer successfully from high school to college I was sure Sarah was going to mention Buffy as the exception to the rule. I think Lori suspected too, based on the eyebrow action.
I like Green Lantern best when he is on the receiving end of Sydney Bristow's wrath.
That pie chart is amazing. More graphs, would be a good idea.
The L Word season in order order of goodness would probably read 1,4,2,3 for me. Three is absolutely terrible. We all miss Dana. Bright side: those trailers for season 5 look really good.
Lori's vehement dislike of insubordination, is kinda hot, just saying.
May include CSI spoiler
I'm so bummed that you don't rant about the good shows. Like CSI!! Or Bones!! That would be just awesome but I guess it's a good thing when you two aren't ranting. =D Could we at least have some comment when SPOLER(?)!:
Sara leaves?Nope, not writing that.Women's Murder Club: I checked this out after your rant about how good that pilot was but sucked as a series and I just want to say: It's awesome! I kinda feel bad for you for having watched the pilot. I really enjoy it. But then again, this might just have everything to do with Angie Harmon being the lead.
And a question: Why don't you watch the Best. Series. Ever? (Bad Girls)
Make a little birdhouse in your soul...
line of the weekend
"honey, is that a pie chart?"
i love you guys
I've given up on Bionic
I've given up on Bionic Woman. If the show was about Sarah Corvis, I'd totally watch it on a regular basis. It just isn't worth the space it takes up on my Tivo.
With The Closer and Damages over with and Battlestar Galactica not starting up again until April, there aren't that many shows out there worth watching. At least Blood Ties is back. I adore Christina Cox.
I hear ya'll
I have to say...
that overall, this current season is a pretty good one as far as non-reality television shows are concerned. I have not really become a devoted fan of any one show in particular...but I have found enough variety to enjoy...depending upon the mood I am in. lol
As far as ABC is concerned...while they threw the one daytime television lesbian character under the bus long ago (don't even get me started lol)...they seem to be doing pretty well on the gblt front during prime time...and I am including Cashmere Mafia, although it has not aired yet.
In fact, Cashmere Mafia is probably the one show this season that I am really looking forward to...I have my fingers crossed that they don't screw it up!
L Word DVD extras
Sarah,
Hey Sarah, how are you? Lovely blog once again. The pie-chart was brill. I just have one teeny-weenie-ittie-bitty request: could you wear that white shirt that you wore on your last vlog? The one from ep 2 of Who Thought THat Was a Good Idea? I kind of like it. :)
Oh, and Life is my favorite current show. Can not get enough of it. I think the Reese/Crews dynamic is amazing and full of chemistry - it's very xfile-ish.
Ay, caramba!
As a latina, I, too, was a bit put off by Papi's character, although that type does exist to a degree, at least here in the Bronx. Trying too much really brings less to the table.
I actually like Cane. Like it enough to relegate my SVU viewing to the Sat night 10 pm rerun. What i don't like about Nestor's character is that I don't see any nuance there. Not even a modicum of conflict within himself in regards to his betrayal of la familia. No tortured soul, just jealousy of his "bro". Rita Moreno, the woman who practically put Puerto Ricans on the Hollywood map, is relegated to the typical matriarch role. She needs to evolve into something else. The other women are not given much to do, as we know. Still, love that the network is letting Latino families show that they are every bit as dynamic as the gringos (I say that with love).
Any chance that the pilot for Murder Club will be made available? As it is, It doesn't bowl me over but I do enjoy it and Angie Harmon is just too sexy.
And let me just say that "Life" is a very good show and not just because of Sarah Shahi. It's my only "Must See".
The L Word Box Set
Thanks so much for your review of the L Word box set. I was on the fence about whether or not to buy it because season 4 did not suck as much as season 3 (which I refused to buy). Your review has made my decision for me. I cannot line the pockets of people who disrespect their audience so much. It makes me sad because I love Alice/Leisha and would be naturally inclined to support anything with which she is involved.
You two complete each other
Lori I'm loving the longer hair and the shirt. :) Ha ha Green Lantern! I'm such a nerd.
I'm really really happy that Life is now finding it's stride. Sarah and Damien work very well together.I hoping they picked for a full season.
I love Grey's Anatomy but hate the whole George and Izzie love thing. They are Brother and Sister, not lovers. lol Katherine in real life is totally T.R's hag. They have no sexual chemistry.
I hate so that Private Practice is bad.
I miss Dana, too. They killed off two my favorites on the show with one big sloppy stone. :(
Wonderful work as always ladies.
My Eyes, My Eyes!
Special people
The writers are smoking something.
They have to be to come up with the idea of Izzie and George being an "item". And the way the storyline is playing out it seems like they've just written themselves into a box. How are George and Izzie suppose to be together if they have no romantic chemistry. And if they break up the weird situation they've put themselves in would be all for nothings.
I'm curious to see what gonna happen with Callie living with Christina. lol Maybe I'm just hoping out loud.
:)
I feel oblige to watch The L
I feel oblige to watch The L Word due to it being the first lesbian themed show, despite it going down hill after the second season. Not only do I feel it is somewhat my duty to watch it, I also feel I have to purchase the boxsets as they come out, that being said season 4 was delivered to my door the day it came out. I'm materialistic when it comes to these things.
I am amused at the transformation Lori went through if you compare her demeanor from these recent vlogs to the very first ones. Lori is so much more comfortable in front of the camera and is more verbal. Sarah you created a monster :p I love it.
I love both of you <3
Hmm...
I differ with you Lori. I actually can imagine Alice with someone other then Dana...like Helena. Yes, yes, I'm imagining them together right now. Easy. ; )

And I can only imagine
ooh, nice idea
Interesting to say the least!
Interesting to say the least!
And Vee you're dirty, but in the good way. : )

Dude, you're like Matlock
Dude, you're like Matlock or something. ha!

Lori's spreadsheet is awesome
Another great vlog! I love watching you two. I look forward to it every weekend.
You are so right about the pathetic lack of good extras on the L Word box sets. How hard would it have been to include the deleted scenes that are on the Showtime website? About S4 itself - it's overall the least annoying of the four seasons to me. It's the only season without an overarching theme or storyline that either offended me or pissed me off (S1 - seemed like it was written for straight men half the time; S2 - the Mark/voyeurism storyline; S3 - Dana dying/the total mishandling of the trans storyline/Shane leaving Carmen at the altar). Although the Papi character was pretty bad. One thing I loved about S4 was Tasha and Alice's relationship (even though the writers turned Alice into a naive moron about Don't Ask, Don't Tell). I think they have great chemistry. I hope they stay together. I'm sure the writers will manage to screw it up somehow.
I absolutely love Life. It's the only new network show I watch. It's so so good! And I usually hate everything! I just hope it doesn't get canceled.
I couldn't agree with you more about Boston Legal. I watched one episode of it last season because Aisha Tyler was guest-starring. Let's just say it was one of the most horrible experiences of my life. I'm just thankful that she didn't have to make out with anyone. <shudder>
Everyone needs to stick with
Everyone needs to stick with Women's Murder Club. The show really is improving as each episode goes by, and Angie Harmon is turning a solid performance as Lindsay Boxer. But the comments about the unaired pilot make me curious--just how different was it, and how much better could the show be? Because it's certainly not on par with say, Life, but it could be. I know certain things happened in the unaired pilot (I think they happened to Jill?) that would've given the series a darker emphasis and a little more dramatic oomph. I also think that they're really toning down their Sex and The City with badges vibe and turning it more into its own show, developing the relationships between the core women.
Also, Green Lantern shirt for the win.
Pushing Daisies...cast aside...alas...
I am sorry to hear you are giving up on the Pushing Daisies, and spending the time to watch Women's Murder Club and Bionic Woman. Now admittedly, I still watch the Bionic Woman in hopes of a Sarah Corvus appearance, but I have yet to be able to make it through an episode of Women's Murder Club without changing the channel.
Pushing Daisies on the other hand is a delight to watch. Enjoyable, entertaining and sweet...and full of originality! Not to mention the talents of Kristin Chenoweth, Swoosie Kurtz, and Ellen Greene! And after you made a "pie" chart and everything! Sigh.
That said of course, I don't really understand how you find the time to watch the amount of shows that you do...so I can see the logic in saving Pushing Daisies for DVD. Ah, the joys of TV on DVD.
The Vlog was awesome as always!
Is there any word on whether Moonlight has been picked up for a full season??
Second Chance
Sarah and Lori give Dirty Sexy Money another chance. If only for Brian Darling (the priest) and Karen Darling (the older sister), its hilarious how self-involved they are ....well to me at least.
Love the vlog ladies!
Oh My ...
Even though the girl in "chuck" is lovely to watch, Blake Lively is Hot ! HOT! HOT! When i saw gossip girl in the beginning, i was like , "oh no.. another teen drama show." But now.. oh ..Gossip girl, It sucks you in. It's hard to get away from it .. I'm starting to love that show .
another thing.. Lori .. luv the pie chart.. that's so ANALYTICAL
Luv it !!
Bionic Woman
I know that Bionic Woman is hard to watch when Katee Sackhoff isn't on the screen, but if you can just stick it out for this first season then, according to this month's issue of Geek Magazine (which features Katee on the cover and has some smokin' hot pictures of her inside.... ), she's under contract to become a regular cast member next season once her commitments with BSG are over.

Katee Sackhoff radio interview
This was posted by another user in a previous vlog comment, but you must listen to it! She is so funny. Plus, they mention Buffy/Faith to her and how they want her character to be bad ass like Faith.
She also says she's doing 9 episodes this season, and if it makes it to Season 2, she will be a regular.

I heart Lori...
for making that Spreadsheet.
And for proudly showing it off too...
How great was that
a little off topic
My favourite part of the VLOG (even though it was all great) was when Sarah turned to Lori and said "I love you" (even if it was said with tongue in cheek).
I loved the pie chart as well.
Also, whenever I see the bunnies lined up in front of the camera, I can just imagine rows upon rows of bunnies waiting at your beckoned call... (i've started using verbal bunnies in my daily life)
My Apologies to Sarah...
Data Analysis
Do not buy the L WORD season
Do not buy the L WORD season 4 unless you just want to watch the episodes. If there are any extras on the DVD besides the still photos, I can't find it. I wish I could return this product but it is opened.
Bionic woman last wed. episode is the first time I found Jamie Summers sexy, I loved the fake brit accent.
My biggest WTF on the L Word is Papi chasing after Kit. There were other WTF moments but I thought the show has improved some.
Oh man, Jamie Sommers was
Not a fake accent...
Michelle Ryan is British, so this week's episode was not a fake accent. Her American voice is fake, but pretty good. Besides, since Katee Sackhoff wasn't on this week's episode, and since Michelle spent the entire episode fawning over some guy, it was pretty damn borrrrrring.
Kristen Bell appearing
Kristen Bell appearing on Heroes was awesome!! I have always been a bit on the fence as far as the show is concerned, and it took me a while to get round to watching this season, but when I found out Kristen’s first ep was on Monday I quickly caught up, and I will be keeping up to date from now on! (Even if the Hiro plot is ridiculous – but, and I know I am in the minority here, I never liked Hiro as a character anyway). I miss Veronica Mars already! (Being a UK viewer who lost her ability to watch US shows for a while I finally saw the finale a few weeks back). Disappointing ending, but it was a last minute cancellation so I guess it couldn’t be helped, and Lori I too wanted her back with Logan – my mum watched with me the week Veronica hooked up with Piz and I shouted at the TV, she didn’t understand, she said Piz was nice?!?! I shouted!
I disliked Papi too, in the same kind of way I hate Hiro. I do love Kristanna Loken though (maybe slightly swayed because she is so freaking hawt!)
Why have you stopped watching Pushing Daisies! I know you said you still like it, but you still stopped!! I love it, it is so bright and shiny it makes me very happy!
OK, I have rambled quite a bit now (it’s what I do), so I am going to finish up now by saying thanks for another awesome vlog, and pie charts rule!!
Oh, and I very much miss
Love it
bionic woman - the british
Luv your vblog
I don't usually post.lol
But Michelle Ryan appeared in that British show Jykyll with a lesbian detective character on that show.(knew that show from afterellen.com)
She played a nurse or something...
