Smiley ads
Those ads annoy me, too, but they're part of the remnant inventory supplied by a third-party ad network (this is what most websites do to fill their unsold ad inventory), and we can't block any specific ads from running in that inventory unless they're completely offensive (like an ad for the KKK or something).
Sorry, I know it's frustrating, but our hands are tied on this.
Try NoScript for FF
In addition to adblock plus I also use a firefox add-on called NoScript. I haven't seen an advert on AE or any other site since I installed both. Maybe give that a go.
It's a bit more work than ABP, but once you've added permissions for your usual sites, I find it's great.

Haven't a clue who these ladies are, but enjoyed doing the puzzle...It's a good eye coordination/brain workout...At my age I really, really need it!!! Haha.

I loved If these walls Could Talk 2. It was the first lesbian movie I ever saw :)
