Hot "House" promo stars Olivia Wilde in lesbian sex scene

Fox has very, very wisely put up this promo for next week's episode of House M.D. ("Lucky Thirteen"), the one in which Olivia Wilde's character Thirteen finally explores her bisexuality on camera.

It's a hot make-out scene between Wilde and another woman, the kind you virtually never see on broadcast television, with The Kills' "Cheap and Cheerful" playing in the background:

You can tell one of the writers of this episode is a lesbian (former Xena writer Liz Friedman), and that it stars a woman (Wilde) who has actually kissed another woman before (Mischa Barton, on The O.C.).

Is this promo a cheap marketing ploy designed to lure new (straight male) viewers to House next week? Absolutely. Will it work? Absolutely. Does that bother me? Eh, not so much at this particular moment.

There's also an extended version of this scene on Fox.com, but fair warning: the rest of the scene is a lot more serious, and not nearly as fun to watch.

    i'm from australia too and i agree with you zara, australian tv sucks! thank god for AE where i can forever come back to re-watch the edited scene.

    and i was annoyed that they had chopped up the makeout scene at the start.

    australian tv totally sucks! how homophobic can they get?!

    apart from that, i think it was a great episode, one of the bestest episode i've seen of house, ever! olivia wilde is so amazing and she plays all of her characters perfectly, she really gets into the peice.

    i absolutely loved the scene where she laid next to Spencer(i think her name was) on the bed in the hospital, was an amazing scene!

    uhm, does anyone know if this storyline will develop or was that it for there lesbian stunt?

    i think it should develop more because olivia wilde and the "gay for pay" chick go great together, so amazing! :)

    ...the sonsofbitches did it again.  They censored that whole program in my area.

    Now, I NEVER have "House" which I teevo every week blacked out.  This time, I had a message saying "Program Interrupted."  It never aired, period.

    If there was ever a time to get with my girlfriend and start necking in front of an anti gay marriage sign in California <prop. 8>, now is the time.

    Really, they censored it? The thought ran through my mind as it ran at 7:00 p.m. in St. Louis that it was slightly amazing that it was on that early in the evening, but it was on, and it was amazing. ;)

    If you don't mind spending a dollar or two (more precisely, 1.99 or 2.99 for HD) it is available on iTunes now.

    Do you mind my asking where you are located? Feel free to ignore that question if you do.

    is in chico, california, a rural/agricultural town in Northern California...not known, particularly, for its "liberal" stance on anything.  In fact, they keep electing this Bush jerk to represent our area in congress.  However, the saving grace in this town is the University vote, which tends to even out the redneck, jerk vote. 

    And who do you "complain" to, when all they can tell you is that it was some kind of a "glitch" in the broadcast?, I ask, but not really ask. 

    Take a deep breath, hold on, and once again go to battle against the gene-pool throwbacks, who, by the way, have no further business breeding such ignorance back into the world. 

    Thanks for asking...and did you get more than you bargained for in asking where I am from.  <smile>

    Vote "FUCK NO" on prop 8.

    nah, I really wanted to know. I have roots in rural Missouri, and was actually wondering if they might have cut the first scene out there. But canning the whole episode... wow.

    yep, amazing isn't it?  that the religious right still has that much influence on cable television, no less. 

    and being from rural Missouri, you'd know exactly what I was talking about.
