Photos of the 2008 AfterEllen.com NYC Meet-UpLast Sunday a bunch of AfterEllen.com vloggers and staff along with the women of 3Way attended a NYC meet-and-greet with some of you. We were expecting a a few dozen people, and got a around 200 instead! It was crazy! But in a good way (mostly). It was great to meet everyone and see some of the faces behind the usernames. Below are some photos from the event — about half are from our new NYC photographer Saidi Granados, and the others from readers and our own cameras (thanks to the readers who sent them in!). Enjoy! Note: Jenn, Cathy Shim and Maile Flanagan couldn't attend at the last minute due to schedule conflicts. It was a tongue in cheek comment about the jars...maybe the restaurant got a deal on them. As to the garden hose, yeah we drank out of them as kids because our parents didn't want us running in and out of the house to get a drink of water. I did have a golden retriever that loved drinking out of the garden hose...it was a special treat after a long walk!

it goes to show you all that i'll believe anything as for drinking out of garden hoses i did that as a kid, i remember one day we went bush walking and we didnt take water with us so we drank out of puddles, now that i think back it was stupid. we didnt know what had been in those puddles

What do I need to do to get into that prison? Wouldn't mind to spend a lifetime there. And yes sometimes it really sucks to live in Germany. Hope you had a fun time but when I look at the pics I think you all did.

Lesbians take Manhattan
It was a wonderful event, and I have to say, the photos and vlogs don't do justice to how truly beautiful each of these women are in person. In addition, they were sweet, fun and genuinely nice.
It was also great to meet other AE readers. It's like a big family and a very nice community of women.
Sadly, I had to leave a little early and could kick myself cause I missed Dee and Kate, but it was a ton of fun and look forward to going to future events they may have.

Many thanks to you, Sarah for organizing this meet and greet and to all the wonderful ladies (both After Ellen vloggers/bloggers, 3Way ladies and all the terrific AE readers/fans) who were able to make the trek out to NYC for the meet and greet. It was so very wonderful getting to meet so many of you.
If any of you AE readers get the chance to go to one of these meet and greets, I urge you to do so... you won't be disappointed. All of the wonderful women from After Ellen and 3Way not only met, but far exceeded my expectations. I, myself am looking forward to attending another meet and greet one day, because of how much fun I had at this one!

Meet-Ups
Lesbians/Bi womyn rockin it out and I couldn't be there. Gosh Darn it!
The pics look great though. It looked like everybody was having fun.I hoped they did. Someday I will attend one of those meet ups.
I'm amazed that 200 people showed up. Can you imagine what'll be like in the next few years? Get ready to have a bigger party.

I think it would be less like a prison movie and more like the Muppets Take Manhattan movie. Although I wouldn't mind a prison scene in there somewhere.... ^__^

That was soo much fun Sarah!! It really was nice to meet the women of the AE community. It was a wonderful thing to meet fellow members from all the world and hang out.
Obviously it was great meeting all the vloggers that was the whole point, but to me, meeting the women behind the usernames was awesome.
Can't wait until the next meet and greet I can get to (hopefully in Seattle soon??!).
