New Video Blog: Lesbian "Weeds" Watching

A few weeks ago, we invited readers to let us know if they'd be interested in doing entertainment-related video blogs for the site. A cute young lesbian couple in California answered the call with a weekly vlog about Weeds, Showtime's drama starring Mary Louise Parker, Elizabeth Perkins, and a lot of marijuana.

First, here's a little info Emma (the dark-haired one) and Jen (the blonde) sent me about themselves:

Emma, 22, and Jen, 26, met at a club in L.A. two years ago and have been doin' it ever since. In addition to being full-time lesbians, they are also full-time college students. Emma is majoring in Literary Journalism and Film and Media Studies and Jen in Accounting. Smartypants!

Emma was born and raised in Las Vegas, but she grew up and got the hell out of that twilight city two years ago when she moved to California. Her interests include Cheddar Fries, warm socks, trying to speak French, and street lights turning green right as you look at them. She hates onions and Tom Cruise.

Jen was born in Huntington Beach, grew up in Oceanside, and then moved to Los Angeles to be closer to the gays. She likes to wear hats, and she's constantly chewing gum. She thinks she sings like a diva, and at home, she's a secret General Hospital addict. (No secret anymore!)

Below are three episodes of their new Lesbian Weeds Watching vlog, which will almost catch you up to where Weeds is at right now.

In this new vlog, you'll get the same low production quality you've come to expect from AfterEllen.com vlogs (what can I say, we're all learning as we go along!) complete with questionable lighting, a shooting-this-in-our-bedroom set, and a fan they forget to turn off for the first minute and a half in the second episode. But they make up for this with fun scene re-enactments (complete with props), funny commentary, and the fact that they're cute as a button. (Yikes! I am turning into my mother!)

    Sarah tried to make me watch "Weeds." Yuck. But I like this new Weeds vlog! I won't watch the show, but I'll watch Emma & Jen!

    this makes me so happy! Ive been addicted to this show and addicted to the milf. Nancy Botwin rocks me! She can jump in my pool anytime :)

    I certainly know about the recent veoh problems but is there a chance you all will be putting up these Weeds vlogs up there?  For a computer challenged person such as myself - for some reason I can only see the vlogs from such sites as veoh and YouTube and not when they are part of the page as above.  Love Weeds so would love to see these vlogs.  : )

    firefox as a browser. that video thing happened to me when i used safari (mac user) the site also ran really slow too. just a suggestion. :)

    i'm so glad afterellen is making these vlogs. seeing real lesbians just be themselves is a real comfort. and i loved lerning about weeds!

    I absolutely love them. Greatvlog! I only watched one episode of Weeds , and liked the show from that point. Now I want to see the very beginning of Weeds. Thanks to AE vloggers Emma and Jen.

    I only watched the first season of weeds...but I know about the story lines by reading about them on fan sites...its great to have a vlog about it up here...not to mention by two very easy on the eyes young ladies...my age...no pun intended

    Guess it's just me but, even though the girls are kinda cute, I found these vlogs to be extremely boring.

    I didn't find it boring, but it did bring to the forefront of my thinking how it was less an extrapolation of the show and more...I dunno, a basic recap. Nothing deconstructionist about it, and definitely nothing that stands alone as original. Sorry if that's harsh, but a long vlog demands a lot from the viewer and I think the viewer can fairly ask for more in return. Just my two cents.

    Even though I, unfortunately, don't have Showtime and can't watch Weeds, I am really enjoying this blog. The out takes are my favorite part, I must admit though. It makes me wonder why the "We're Getting Nowhere" blog hasn't done that yet. You guys are doing a great job. Keep the good work coming!

    Love that Mary-Louise Parker!!  Also she has a new play on Broadway she's working on.....

     

    Mary-Louise Parker Returns to the Stage

    NEW YORK (AP) — Mary-Louise Parker is coming back to the New York stage.

    Parker will star in "Dead Man's Cell Phone," Sarah Ruhl's play about a woman who answers the ringing cell phone of a man seated next to her in a cafe. And he's dead.

    The play will open March 4 at off-Broadway's Playwrights Horizons, Tim Sanford, the theater's artistic director, announced Thursday. Preview performances begin Feb. 8. The play had its world premiere last June at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington.

    "Dead Man's Cell Phone" will also star Kathleen Chalfant and will be directed by Anne Bogart.

    Parker, star of the cable TV series "Weeds," was last seen on Broadway in 2004 in a revival of Craig Lucas' "Reckless." She won a Tony Award in 2001 for her performance in David Auburn's "

    Yes, she remaind my to alyson hannigan, the way she talk and she is realy cut but never forget to jen and her haircut seem like amber's haircut, the blonde long hair, so... to me is the vlog of willow and tara about weeds. carry on with the vlog you are wonderfulllll......!!!

    I'm not done watching the second VLOG yet, but I had to leave a comment on this because it cracked me up.

    Emma- That's exactly how I came out. My parents opened the closet, I came out and said, "I'm gay." *snicker* Actually, my parents found out on their own. *snickers*

    In recap # 1, you mentioned that Celia had ONE daughter. Celia actually has TWO daughters. Her other one, Quinn (Haley Hudson), dated Silas, and was sent off to a boarding school in Mexico after the first episode.

    I don't get Showtime here and Showtime.com won't stream content over the border, so thanks for letting me vicariously enjoy the smokin' new season (until it comes to Showcase).

    Weed's has to be one of the best shows I think I've EVER watched.  It has just went from strength to strength from season 1 - 3.  Hot drug dealing mum  Nancy is an amzing character.  In fact I love all the characters.  Celia cracks me up so much and she too is hot!  Andy, Shane and Sylas are amazing too, as is Doug and the rest of the gang.  Weeds is a totally under rated show in my opinion.  No one I know actually watches it, which is a damn shame.  Also why is it only like 23 minutes an episode?? I'm always left wanting more!!

    Just wondering what how they referred to MSM and MLP on the set of Fried Green or on Weeds, so we get so lucky.

    'Hey, Mary-Lou and Mary-Stu," right?

    Or just Lou and Stu.

    See that would totally fit on monogrammed towels.
