More PJ! "My Boys" renewed for a third season

TBS has just picked up a third season of My Boys, its very funny comedy created by a woman (Betsy Thomas) about a female sportswriter (Jordana Spiro) whose friends are all men, except her BFF Stephanie (Kellee Stewart).

In announcing the pickup, TBS cited the show's growth from Season 1 to Season 2 by 14%. It's great to see a show helmed by a woman succeed, and now (well, next summer) we'll get answers to the big questions from last season: Will Stephanie and Kenny's mutual loathing or attraction win out? Will Andy leave his good-paying corporate job for a career in improv? And who will PJ choose, Bobby or his brother?

Eh, whatever. Just so we get more PJ!

But they did seem to glam her up more in the second season. Some of that was because of the whole wedding and fancy dates theme that spanned several episodes, but it begs the question: which do you like more — Glammed-Up PJ or Sporty PJ?

I think I'm partial to Sporty PJ myself. What about the rest of you?

    I love this show, but the glamming/femming up thing, the loss of the voiceover baseball metaphors, and the complete lack of "PJ at work" stuff really frustrated me. I loved that being boycrazy was not 100% of her focus in Season 1, and I'd love to get back to that. So many female characters on TV and in film think about nothing other than dating, and PJ is more than that: She's a grounded, smart, warm, funny girl who LOVES sports and cares about her friends and family more than anything.

    I look forward to Season 3 and getting to see the whole gang again. (And hopefully an appearance by Trouty!)

    I work at the Sun-Times and wish PJ actually worked in our sports section. There are two females in the entire room! I like sporty...and on an unrelated note, I wouldn't mind Jordana Spiro as the voice of my GPS system. If I had a GPS system...

    I really like this show.  I think it's smart.

    Oh, Trouty!  It's funny, he's like from another relm but he's the one with the clout!

    It's so weird to think of her having her own show. I never really got into the show but I'm happy for her nonetheless. As for which version of PJ is hotter, I'd say both! She can dress and act whatever way she is feeling that day...cool by me!
