She Got Me Pregnant: Episode 28Dana and Helen of Mombian.com bring you the first signs of what could be growing ultra-right opposition to Uncle Bobby's Wedding, a new children's book featuring gay guinea pigs. They then give you a parent's-eye view of one of their favorite stores, IKEA. It's not just good for parents in search of cheap furniture, they argue, but can be a whole day's worth of activities for children as well. They also offer some suggestions to new parents looking for baby gear and anyone whose home hosts both small children and large pieces of furniture. They then recommend some additional tools to improve your furniture-assembling prowess and ensure that your bookshelves are straight, even if you aren't. Submitted by on May 15, 2008 - 8:30am. |

IKEA
Yay, I love IKEA!
Your son isn't the only one who bounces on all the couches..... :o)
IKEA
What can I say - I love IKEA. I am not as crazy about it as other people who stop by there every other week, but I get my share of visits a year. I also remember loving it when I was a kid. My siblings and I would always get very excited about trips to it (that was in the 80ies) and I think my parents were pretty relieved when we finally bought what we had actually come for because we would just stop and try everything.

It's a new dawn. It's a new day. It's a new life. And I'm feeling good.
IKEA sounds fun
Dang IKEA sounds fun. You 2 are making me want to go there for no reason.
I'm not ashamed of playing in the ball pen. lol
Allen wrenches
So many from so many different build it yourself furniture adventures. They seem to be overtaking my junk drawer. Thanks for your take on Right wing intolerance of children's books, and, as a happy counterpoint, the joys of Ikea.
nice family blog
i have many friends with kids, and could use to watch this blog. The kids books sound lovely and a great way to introduce the idea of alternative families to kids who are brainwashed within the system, churches etc... and grow into young homophobes.
Ikea, great advice. And ya, parents your kids don't need so many expensive toys !
So sad to see parents who are struggling fork out oodles at over priced commerical venues for name brand toys.
