Lesbian Weeds Watching: Episode 3.12 & 3.13

In the latest episode of Lesbian Weeds Watching, Emma and Jen talk about the Tegan and Sara concert, about the difference between Zooey Deschanel and Denise, and of course, about Weeds! (What WOULD happen if Nancy became pregnant!??)

    The opening scene for episode 12 was made of win.  And I agree, it was so totally erotic and hot and just plain awesome to watch.  In fact, I rewatched it several times.  I was really hoping for some bloodshed though.

    I thought Denise was kinda hot.  I'd do her...

    I don't remember the stain on the shirt.  I'm gonna have to go back and watch it again...or not.  Yeah, definitely not.  I don't need to see that scene again.

    I think Shane has gone freakin' looney toons.  I haven't decided yet if he's really seeing his dad, or just trying to get attention.  I think maybe he's just lonely and needed something to make him feel like there is someone around who will be there for him, and that manifested itself as him seeing his dad from beyond the grave.  But hey, I'm about to watch this week's episode, so I guess I'm gonna find out.

    I totally agree with the koolaid stain.

    After the two episodes covered in this vlog ("The Dark Time" and "Risk"), there are two more episodes to recap. There's the one from last night ("Protection") and the season finale ("Go"). But I digress...

    I honestly thought the Conrad-Nancy hook-up would be one of those relationships that writers would tease audiences with for the duration of the show, but never actually consummate...so much for that theory. Like Jen, I definitely wanted them to hook-up from the beginning, but not like that. It was bad, just bad. It was too fast and too impersonal (and Conrad's dirty shirt was so not sexy). I think they had more chemistry in the kiss from Season 2.

    I loved the scenes with Celia and Heylia...I think there's great potential for comedic gold with the two of them together. When Celia mimicked Heylia and told Vaneeta to STFU...that was funny. One of the shortcomings of this season has been the lack of Heylia's snark...she's hilarious.

    Question #1: are the bikers that forced Dean off the road the same bikers that sold Nancy the skank weed?

    Question #2: How, after so many years of dealing, does Nancy not recognize skank weed when she sees/smells it?

    I totally think that Zooey Deschanel is hot, but so is 'Denise.'

    Emma- You do make a damn funny old man!

    Jen- I think your portrayal of MK as Tara is dead on! So funny!

    Oh, and Shane has lost it. He probably does see his dad, but it is cuz he has some serious issues.

    Yup.  Totally met Tegan and Sara 3 years ago.  

    They were playing in Halifax (Nova Scotia) for the second time, and since there were tickets at the door the last time I showed up I figured I wouldn't have to buy them ahead of time. I gave no thought to the fact that they had basically blown up with So Jealous.  Annyway, I hopped on a bus and rode 6 hours to get to Halifax, alone, just to see them, only to find out that tickets had been sold out for weeks.  

    I was depressed. 

    So about 3 hours before the show I was walking around downtown feeling sorry for myself when a group of people walked out of a building in front of me, and stopped at a stop light.  As I approached my jaw dropped....and I pointed...at Tegan and Sara.  Tegan smiled and waved...and I told them (still in shock mind you) that I had been travelling for 5 hours  to find out they were sold out. (At this point I was just thinking that I could die right then and be happy.) And they were like "oh we'll just put you on the list!" and I told them them about a million times thank you and they just were like..."well you drove 5 hours duh"... 

    I can now say that I was once Tegan and Sara's invited guest. 

    Amazingly sweet girls. I got into the bar before anyone else...and was front row centre the whole time.  The show was great but the crowd was totally obnoxious and they didn't appreciate it. 

    Anyway, that's my story! :)

    i agree that the nancy and celia scene was great.

    ah.. Tegan and Sara.. how i love when anyone mentions them, they make me proud to be canadian. .. but your description of this girl who looks like tegan and sara has intrigued me.. and im guessing that is was actually Emy that you saw. Emy Storey (who is mentioned in Sara's song Knife Going In, and who is the subject of the song I Was Married) is their graphic designer/merchandise person who does all the artwork for the website, the dvds and the merchandise designs. she generally has a similar haircut and from afar i could easily see how she could have been mistaken for one of them... which just really adds to the weird stereotype that lesbian couples look the same because she was Sara's partner for like 5 years and they lived together in Montreal. anyway that is my theory on the mystery woman .. and its probably no surprise that she wouldnt be too happy about being mistaken for Sara now that they are no longer together : |

    But it wasn't her we saw, it was another girl with the same haircut. In June Emy was with T & S at an in-store show in Long Beach. I had no idea they weren't together anymore, when did that happen??? Maybe the girl we saw was a new girl..hmmmm.

    I was thinking Emy too, but now that you say it wasn't her, well Tegan recently posted a blog that said their entire group of friends seem to sport the haircut and she doesn't know how it happened, but they all have it.

    The T n S community heard about Emy and Sara a little less than a month ago when an interview came out where Sara refers to the break-up. I don't think anything other than that has come out about it.
