I was just wondering if either of you ever have to look up walkthroughs online for help with games?

I had to a couple of times when I played tombraider on the Wii.

There is a non-import game that is very similar to Photohunter called QuickSpot. Same concept, 2 pictures, find the differences. The game hasn't done well so I think most people can find it in the discount bins which is great because the game really doesn't have much replay value.

Spore. I don't know if I'm ready for this - especially since I gave the last few months of my life away to WoW. In fact, the next WoW expansion pack is coming out at the beginning of the summer. *sigh*

Most sports games are silly, I think. The one exception has to be the SSX Snowboarding series on PS2. I LOVE sports, but I usually find sports v-games to be completely ridiculous and rather boring. Basketball, football, hockey, baseball ... all lame.

Great Cute Game: Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 on PS2. Totally my guilty Pleasure. And Mario Party 8 on the Wii. While technically a puzzle game, it's Mario World which is beyond the pale on the cuteness level.

Speaking of quirky, cute, obviously made by the Japanese; have you ladies ever played Katamari Damacy?

Ok, so it's not Guitar Hero IV Lesbian Edition, but Activision's announcement this week of an Aerosmith Guitar Hero title is a pretty sweet piece of news anyways.

Hopefully the attempt of a storyline, the inclusion of opening acts and the wide range of music that Aerosmith have bought out will make this title...umm...rock.

Let also hope that the size of Steven Tyler's gargantuan mouth doesn't look as scary in the game as it does in the stills...

I have this game on my Xbox 360 and even my non-gamer girlfriend is hooked! Now we're battling for Xbox time :)

 

I have Mass Effect for the Xbox but I will be getting the PC version as well because, knowing Bioware, it will be moddable (that a word?).

I had no idea there were so many DS games... I've never noticed much of a selection in stores. I'm primarily a X360 geek but my sister who's a fan of Nintendo has a DS (actually this came in very useful when she was in hospital too!) Got to say that the best DS game is probably Mario Kart but it gets a bit competitive with a group of people!

I've watched the blog a few times, but when you had the rows of DS games lined up I've never been so distracted. How do you get around to playing so many games on so many different consoles?

 You have the largest games collection I've ever seen! Do you lend your games to your friends or are you quite possesive over them? I'm not hinting, I haven't got a games console at the mo, but was just wondering. I'm quite posessive over my games and rarely lend them to people. How nasty am I! I should spread the gamers love and get people interested in gaming.

I've been catching up after being away for a while (as much as I love the vlog, I must say I'm pleased you've trimmed it down a bit. Quality not quantity!) and I was hella interested to hear about DS titles.

I bought this weird guitar game for my DS the other day... Jam Session or something, anyway, it was boasting X number of songs but when I actually started playing, it turned out I only recognised about 5 songs, there were some I didn't know, but then about 20 french songs ... what's that all about?
That said, If you're interesed in making music (and not just pressing buttons in time to a rhythm) then this is a really good game. It teaches about about chord progression and recognising chords from the sounds and the 'free play' option is cool as there are loads of chords available online so you can strum and sing your fave tunes.
Easier than a real guitar, but nothing beats the calloused fingers... ok, maybe not...

Ok, I'm having a dialema... my sister has a Wii and guitar hero is great! But I only have a PS2. Should I get 'Rock Band' even though it would be for PS2, or should I go for Guitar Hero so I can get all 3 titles?

ooh and that is so awsome news about mass effect coming to pc. made ma day!

now I haven't commented much here because I've been working non stop for the last  3months but I got a kick out of the references to retro gaming...I myself a 23 year old was started on atari2600 by my own mother...and then it spiraled out of control ..then I got Sega genesis, game boy, PlayStation, then ps2...Nintendo DS and finally the WII...on retro games...I found for some reason I loved all the big titles like mortal kombat, street fighter...ms. pacman..not to mention sonic games..the Sega counter strike to nintendo's Mario brothers...in my opinion...oh and I got a really big kick out of you and lesbionic mentioning the Xena game...I have it for PlayStation and Tracy you are sooo right...that game was bad...it was slow for one...and the graphics...even for PlayStation on that puppy was soooooo bad...its as if they made her body out of paper and jut danced it on the screen for us in 5 positions....but enough on the old stuff...right now my favorite games are on DS...burnout's map...reminds me of the old maze screen saver they used to have on the old PCs....its annoying and distracting as hell....NBA 08 was awesome...and again have to agree with you on the controller...it was just to hard to play that game and have fun when I was getting my butt kicked left and right...photo hunter...I LOVE for the duh reasons...it keeps me on my toes to find anomaly's in my own life...lol....I lost 3 weeks to puzzle quest before i realized I had lost WAY to much sleep...anything Mario is awesome...but the go carts I got a big kick out of...I got the first one I think it came out on the game boy advanced and then on ds...both where great and frustrating to play...now here' the thing...when it comes to Sims i just don't get it maybe I'm to much of a puzzle girl...but Sims annoys me ..I don't get why sooooo many people are into it...tamagotchi...I love any game made for that....diner dash...I played on my PC and have yet to play it anywhere else...so far on the PC it was alright....can you tell me if there was any big difference between the two...well thanks for reading my rant and it was great to finally comment on an awesome vlog you ladies rock!!!.

It's great being able to watch your vlog and recongnize so many spines of the games behind you.  I manage the game department at a best buy in Texas.  I have actually used your comments when selling a game or system to a customer.

Hey Girls...I just wanted to thank you for answering my question about how you met.  I wasn't trying to pry... I guess I was just wondering if one turned the other of you onto gaming OR if gaming brought the two of you together....  My girlfriend isn't really into gaming.....as much as I've tried to sway her to our side.... :)   I own a PSP but after watching your vlog about DS......well........I guess I will have to get one....  Love to watch the two of you each week and to see women as excited about gaming as I am.  See you next week!

 

Fun blog! I used to game a lot about a decade ago and recently have been thinking about getting a new system. It's kinda hard to get started when you're so out of the loop so it's great to watch this vlog and get a feel of what's out there.

It would be great if you added some visuals of the games as you're walking through them.

A few of you asked how we find the time to play all these games every week. Well you know what it's difficult actually. We both spend a lot of time writing, working and hanging out doing other things so I actually have no idea how we fit it all in, but we do!

Also, we won't have the viewer feedback this week in the vlog as it's our Oscars Special, hence why there's so many replies in here this week.
