Burnout Paradise was released today in the US on the PS3 and 360.  I really love this series and they made it better with the open environment similar to GTA. 

Please don't forget Hydro Thunder on your dreamcast vlog.  I was addicted to that game and wish someone would release it on one of the next gens.

yes please do a section on dreamcast. dreamcast has been a love of mine since it first came out. At one point my console died but i was able to revive it and continue playing some of their great titles and my personal favorites like resident evil code veronica, rippin' riders, nba2k2, tony hawk pro skater 2 and of course sonic. man i'm psyched. enjoyed your blog btw as for the lesbian guitar hero songs i'd agree with some Tegan and Sara. Melissa Ethridge is a no go in my book i just don't like her music. But i'd definitely throw in some Sleater-Kinney and The Sounds and a dash of Goldfrapp and The Cardigans just because they kick ass.

Yay Dreamcast! Unfortunately I bought a Dreamcast near the end of its life so I don't have all that many games for it, but I'm looking forward to what you guys have to say about it. Then I can go to eBay and spend money I don't have on old Dreamcast games :)

 

I also agree that Microsoft should have just dumped some points into everyone's XBL accounts and let us buy what we want. I played a bit of Undertow and it was OK, it wasn't bad but there are several other XBLA games that I'd rather have.

I was always the only girl playing with a bunch of guys on our wlan network, but enjoyed till the last bullet that left my chamber LOL heheheh. We also used a program to communicate via headsets that was really cool :)

For me Ghost Recon still has got to be one of the best games time after time.....I can put it away and bring it out months later and it still rocks....we need more games with woman charcters...if my memory prooves me right I think there was only one ad on that was female......

Enjoyed the vlog again this week. I haven't worked out which console to buy yet so I'm still only playing my ds lite which thankfully doesn't have any region coding. I just returned from Japan where they have the most wicked selection of games but unfortunately a lot are unplayable due to the language barrier (especially with my inclination towards rpg's). They have heaps of educational games as well which I would love to see equivalent english releases but I doubt the market exists for them which is too bad.

Trying to think of good songs for a Lesbian Rock Band game...hhmmm...maybe 'Suddenly I See' by KT Tunstall and 'All Fired Up' by Pat Benetar and I think you have to include Etheridge's "Like The Way I Do" especially if you're on guitar.

hey juzzer is it a newish mac you have? from about 2006 on they ship out with intel processors - which means you can run windows on your mac - therefore all the games!

It's quite easy to do (lots of guides on the web) just a matter of getting the software - Parrallels or Boot camp (there are others but these are probably the most well known ones). Personally i prefer boot camp as it is a free download, runs nativly and also comes with the new mac operating system Leopard.

I don't usually post here, but i just gotta say that you should talk alot more about pc games. I've played i think thousands of pc games and im always so disappointed that you don't talk about them! You should talk about only pc games in some of your vlog!

If you're gonna talk about Dreamcast, you definitely should mention The Typing of the Dead. It's almost identical to the rail-shooter The House of the Dead 2, expect that you kill zombies by typing the words that appear in front of them. Easiest enemies carry phrases like "OK" and "cat", but as you proceed, they get crazier and crazier - just try typing "acylochloridic physiotherapy"! It's really a lot of fun, you should try it out if you haven't played it yet (it's also available for PC).

I don't play Guitar Hero (I'm trying to learn how to play REAL guitar and the little colored buttons on the Guitar Hero controller thingadoo tick me off!) but I do have my own list of songs... if they made a Guitar Hero with all these songs, hell, I'd probably buy it.

"All the Girls Love Alice" by Elton John, preferrably covered by an out lesbian musician. (This is the perfect kind of song for a game like Guitar Hero because it has both slow and fast parts. Extra awesome would be if you could play a character resembling Leisha Hailey.)

"Bleed Like Me" by Garbage (You might not know who they are, but you've probably heard some of their songs... this particular song is somewhat introspective and deals with many different kinds of pain. Probably one or more of the microstories featured in here is one you can relate to.)

Can't believe that Suzi Quatro hasn't gotten a metion yet. Ok, whilst not technically a lesbian, her guitar playing is phenomenal and 'Devil Gate Drive' would be an awesome track in any edition of GH. Not to mention the leathers...

Oh, and how cool was it to see Shane playing Tomb Raider on DS in this week's episode. A fine member right there of the gay girls who game club.

Damn, how did I forget Ms. Led? It's an awesome punk/rock band, and three of it's four members are gay. Their songs "Because Light Is A Woman" and "New Agenda" would definitely deserve a place in the lesbian edition.

I downloaded this game just because you both said it rocked and I must concur. My friends and I have been playing it non-stop since Friday. It's really not all that different from other games of it's type in the actual game play. You nailed it when you said it was the typical match the same colors together format, but all around, it's so much more entertaining than other types in the same genre.

 

Also, the little bunnies are cute when they talk during the game. I felt bad the first couple times they fell into the water because they sounded so bummed, but then my friends made fun of me for caring and said I give tomboys a bad name.

My only gripe is that I can never find anyone to play online, that bums me out. So if anyone wants to play Boogie Bunnies online or Spongebob (It really is entertaining collecting Mr. Crabs underpants), let me know.
