Homophonic: Deepa Soul

Our brother site AfterElton.com has a new weekly video blog that focuses on the world of out gay musicians, and in their first episode, Alex and Lee delve into the world of out singer Deepa Soul.

The woman behind the hit dance singles like "Nowhere Love" and "As I Am" discusses her journey from not-so-humble beginnings as a go-go dancer in San Francisco to her epic collaborations with Junior Vasquez. She even performs a track from her upcoming 3-disc release for the boys.

    Oh. My. God!

Guys, I loved your vlog.  And thanks so much for featuring Deepa for the first one and introducing me to her and her music.

I've heard her name in the past and even been exposed to her through the UPeople thing Hanifah and Olive have going on but I never looked her up. I could kick myself now for not having everything of hers in my CD collection.

Deepa's voice touches me right in the center of my soul and I feel healed. She should be a SUPASTAR of the first order because the universe needs everything she's got to give.

    Thanks.

I really enjoyed watching this. I can definitely appreciate Deepa's music and all that she's been through. The Jam session at the end was great!
