What's up with Obama giving out advice on not being homophobic? He's not speaking out about Hate Crimes or LGBTQI marriage rights. So what makes him so high and mighty?

Well....um.....maybe I'm the only one, but does anyone else think that Brenda/Van doesn't exist, that Kate is playing a joke on us? I don't know....maybe if we could see a hand, or a foot! :) I need proof that Van exists! lol

All video blogs on afterellen hasn't worked since yesterday.  Strange.  All other sites work.  I saw episode 1 through 5 just fine.  Bummer. Was looking forward to this one.

Video issues. If only AfterEllen.com had Max - he could do a computer search and use his firewire video camera to transmit video to us! :P

I tried to email Logo about this because it's not this site or the player that's the issue, it's where the video is being fed from. I'm guessing Logo(MTV) has their own CDN (content delivery network) and they aren't used to the volume of videos AfterEllen is serving and/or it's not playing well with the changes made on AfterEllen recently (which I'm also guessing  - from the types of erros I've seen - was a change in Drupal, a content management system).

Are you guys looking to hire an information architect? I'm not really looking but I really want to watch these vlogs LOL. ;)

Kate, I am going to be at your show in Ann Arbor, MI on Feb. 6th. My sides hurt after five minutes of Hilarity Clinton so I cannot imagine what's in store. 

2 trillion. My jaw dropped at the mention of that. I just don't understand how the US could have spent that much.

Online, or in any other form, it's always a pleasure to "spend time" with an intelligent woman. Thumbs and toes up for this vlog. Kate had me with the faux Fred tears there for a minute. What do you think the chances are that Bill Clinton could be Hillary's VP, should she (oh please, goddess, please) become our next president? Another vote for Kate and all of the Clintons from this viewer.

Hello all ! I am new to this website and I just love it. I have been following politics forever and very cautious when I make my decisions as an Indepenent. I admire Kate Clinton for her wit and find her charming and intelligent. This is why I am befuddled when she explains her reasons for supporting Hillary. Because she's "our hawk" ? It seems to me that Kate only wants her because she's a woman- which is a letdown. I thought Kate was  liberal. Hillary has not only supported the war on Iraq but she has also promoted the bombing of Lebanon and exploits parts of the Carribbean for her own gain. Her husand is in this too. I don't see Hillary as a woman. I see her as a deeply Machavellian politico who will use gays and other minorities to augment her own power. What has she done for us-the gay community ? Why are we so in love with her(both gay men and lesbians) ? I am in Andrew Sullivan's camp( he's a gay journalist and a rare breed in the gay community by supporting Obama- check out his blog on the Atlantic journal website) when he said he was confused as to why gays loved Clinton. She has become much more conservative lately-steering clear of being too pro-choice and other "liberal" issues. At the Logo debate, she received an inordinate amount of applause from the largely gay audience. She then proceeded to cement her stance of being anti-gay marriage and blamed the GOP for her husband's failures on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Melissa Etheridge looked genuiely hurt when she said " we were thrown under the bus"  to Hillary. Frankly, I don't think she gives two wits about us but we will follow her blindly anyway- because she is female. And women are so radically different from men. Please. Hillary has no plan of action to get us out of Iraq. She shifts constantly. Women can be warmongerers and exploiters who don't care for other women and children in other countries. We could potentially have at least 24 years of Bush and Clinton back to back if she's elected. I am tired of these two dynasties. We live in a democracy- nepotism should not rule the country. One last comment- somebody posted earlier that Obama was "high and mighty" for telling churches not to be homophobic. I personally think that's a good thing- uncharacteristic of a politician. Clinton has never done that. But it doesn't matter, does it ? We will blindly follow her anywhere and sadly project unto her all our hopes and dreams- all that we want her to be. Just don't be surprised when you are let down again if she's elected. On that note, I still think you rock, Kate !

Independent, please read David Brooks' editorial, "No Apology Needed." And please do take the proposed political forum away from this discussion, which hopefully will be in keeping with the humorous and upbeat nature of the vlog.

Hmmm....interesting. When derisive comments are made about others, it's more than welcome and even considered "humorous and upbeat." As long as we agree, we're in. But if we stray from the so-called normal or conventional, we are a downer and ridiculed. What happened to free-thinking and diversity within the gay community ? I do have a sense of humor but I don't think this important election is a laughing matter. Kate's comment -"our hawk" got me thinking about the herd mentality withinn the gay community. Sorry, dustyspringfield, for making you feel uncomfortable. I thought I could be free here-especially here. In any case, I will check out that article by David Brooks. I believe I've read it but I will look at it again. I would appreciate a direct link if you have it. Thanks.

Ah well, enjoy your cruise and I look forward to your return. These vlogs are fun and too short but then there is no time for an in depth discussion on politics that way and probably to avoid controversy. I think everyone has the right to voice their opinion and I like to hear them all. I also think a new forum is the place for it as we cannot get Kate to elaborate longer either. Light, humorous and uplifting might just be the goal here, however Kate has a section on her home page called K8t Asks/ Ask K8t that might be a better place for your questions Independent. Loving your faux sympathy for Thompson Kate, you crack me up!
