Bianca and Reese have sex on "All My Children," sky doesn't fallEarlier this week, an ABC promo teased that this week, "Bianca and her partner Reese make love!" and showed a quick scene of the two women in bed together.
Unfortunately, what was in the promo was pretty much all you saw on the show. But this was still a breakthrough for All My Children (and daytime TV overall), which previously has only shown two women in bed together once, to my recollection (Bianca in Lena's hotel room), and they were sitting side-by-side — not lying down — in a "morning after" scene (not kissing or engaging in sexual activity the way the heterosexual characters do all the time on the show). Although Bianca and Reese's sex scene was blink-and-you'll-miss-it brief, this time the writers showed us the lead-up to it, and it was pretty good. (Spoiler alert: episode details below!)
Reese (Tamara Braun) is giving Bianca (Eden Riegel) a foot massage in bed, and telling her she's going to take care of the new baby tonight so Bianca can finally get some sleep. Bianca has other ideas, though, and begins to kiss Reese, saying, "It's a funny thing, but all of a sudden I'm not tired anymore." After a few moments of Bianca kissing her neck, Reese whispers, "Get me out of these clothes." The next time you see Bianca and Reese, they're lying in bed together after having sex (Bianca's wearing lingerie, Reese a robe). Reese offers to get Bianca some wine, they joke a little, and then Bianca flips Reese over on her back for another round. It's the flipping over that is so risque for broadcast TV. Funny that such a small act should have such significance, but it does — because it implies intent, and lack of passivity. And I think we've all had enough of passive lesbians on TV. The characters were also very happy and relaxed during the sex scenes (and the lead-up to them), and didn't have endless discussions about whether to actually have sex or not — another nice change from some recent primetime lesbian sex scenes we won't mention. (There was a less happy subplot about Bianca discovering that Reese's parents disowned her when she met Bianca and came out to them, but for the purposes of this blog post, who cares? Plenty of time to analyze the angsty coming-out drama later.) Now that this sweeps period is ending, I don't expect we'll see another moment like this for awhile. But here's a photo of the happy couple on the 11/24 episode, to give you something to look forward to:

yay!
one thing i'm a little scared about is reese and zach. he's a little too up in her grill for comfort. if they get together down the road i will barf.
p.s. bianca was in bed with babe once- nakie too (if memory serves). but it was just an act to make JR mad.
Teehee.
How did I forget about that? They weren't naked. They only pretended to be. Then JR went on a tirade about how he was going to get custody of their kid 'cause of the lesbian lover thing. Scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4g5Dk1XgHc
But, this scene is why Maggie ended up in an abusive relationship. She saw BaBinks in bed and thought that Bianca had chosen Babe over her. Then she ran away and ran right into Johnathan arms.
In regards to today's scene, Bianca is a top? Who knew. And, I wish Maggie was her scene partner like any other BAMmer but, I can appreciate what this means for visibility. ABC is wacky though. Firing Brooke Smith for her character getting her gay on while this storyline is taking place during daytime. I know they couldn't possibly fired ER but, TB... I wonder.
And, Sarah you are right about Bianca and Lena. Bianca was nakey with a sheet covering her lady-parts and Lena... Well, she was fully clothed and in another room and came back in when Bianca was waking up. Then she sat on the bed. I think they may have shared a quick kiss. But, I do remember that La Kane interrupted the post-coital bliss. I can't find the scene online though.
-------------------
~It means pride.~
Bianca top or bottom? How about both.
In regards to Bianca being a top, I'm sure she's a bottom as well. But it was certainly fun to see her throw Reese over like that...even though I wish on everything that is sacred that it was Maggie. It irks me so much to hear Bianca refer to Reese as the love of her life.
Memory wasn't serving you well...
boo!
Eh...
"one thing i'm a little scared about is reese and zach. he's a little too up in her grill for comfort. if they get together down the road i will barf."
No need to worry. I think the thing is Zach's office was just to set up the Bianca/Reese argument and explaining some of Reese's past. I think the thing in the hallway was a lead in for Zach being a hero in a later episode. We all know how much Zach likes to make people happy. I can definately see Zach or Bianca (or maybe both) finding Reese's dad and dragging him to their wedding or Gabrielle's Christianing.
Anyways- I love this storyline. Yay Breese!
it was ok
good times
i had no idea this scene was coming...i missed out on previews/spoilers. i have to say it was an awesome surprise & a nice way to end the work week. not to mention, somewhat hot. these 2 actress are doing an AWES job w/this. it feels real, & that is something that i haven't felt on cable tv (other than showtime & logo). let me say that when she said "get me out of these clothes" my mouth dropped & i got butterflies in my tummy. i'm sure plenty of people will write in about the scene, but it was so tasteful & a lot hotter than erica & adam hookin up (just puked in my mouth).
i don't want this relationship to fade away.

better
After the HUG HELLO when Reese was first introduced, I wasn't expecting much from this show. But I've been pleasantly surprised since. A major thing to point out is that Bianca has had more action in these past two weeks than she had in the entire 6-7 years prior. I think that's some progress. I thought the lead-up-to-sex scene was pretty good, but it's true the "after" was too "blink-and-you'll-miss-it brief."
But aside from the "sex scenes," what's been striking to me about Reese/Bianca is the little things that seem more unconscious: the kiss goodbye or the hands around each other's waist--things that AMC used to go out of it's way to avoid. It's no longer the "A Frame" (Karmen's term regarding Spashley--kissing but no bodies touching) that they used to have all the time, which was always to awkward to watch.
I guest what I'm trying to say: For network TV, it was good but not great (Although, I agree, the "get these clothes off" line was HOT.) But for AMC, it was a big step forward.

Bridget: Are you really crying because you're not lesbians in real life? Is that why you cry?
Eden Riegel: Well, wouldn't that make you cry?
I agree. Its been the little
YEY!!
I love Reese and Bianca! They are so natural together, its believable and there is a lot more affection (as in touching) than I can ever remember before. I honestly think that Bianca has been kissed more in the last two weeks than she was in the five years she was a regular character!! Eden has always been superb as Bianca, and Tamara is doing an amazing job too. We have to remember that this is still a daytime soap, and I think its been great so far.
I also don't like the way Zack seems to be a focus of everything with them. I did think that maybe he would want to gain custody of Gabrielle, as it was mentioned that he wanted him and Kendell to have another child, hopefully a girl to make their family complete... I thought, CUSTODY BATTLE!! Afterall, who would a judge give custody to? A lesbian couple, or a married couple with two children??
God, I hope there won't be a love triangle with Reese, Zack and Bianca.. No, No, No!! Tamara was asked if Reese has always been gay, and she said everyone has a past, it is a soap afterall..
Isn't it funny how abc seem willing to move forward with their daytime programmes, but be so antiquated and scared at primetime...
There is still alot of
There is still alot of difference between daytime showing this and primetime.....but mainly.....male audience. And the fact that its daytime, you don't have alot of kids, teens and men watching it and I think women are much more open to watching lesbian couples and actually rooting for them. And again, this is the sweeps, I get the feeling its just a matter of time before Bianca somehow "loses" Reese, how many times has it happened to her before?
Men love lesbians more
You'd be surprised at how many children and teenagers watch soap operas. I would say men (heterosexual and homosexual) are more open to watching lesbian couples than heterosexual women are. For example, on some message boards right now you'll see some people bitching about this show showing this, and we have to remember that most of these viewers are women. I feel that if this audience was mostly men, there would not be as many complaints about this.
Come On ...
Don't worry about Zach
video clip?
Clip..
The whole episode is up on youtube already, just look under CaziGirl or type All My Children 11/14/08. If you can wait a couple of hours someone always does a compilation of Reese and Biancas scenes. Hope this helps!
I am loving this couple!
Tamara and Eden are AMAZING actresses!! They are doing a fantastic job as Reese and Bianca. They have good chemistry and it shows!!
Oh sweet lord when Reese whispered "get me out of these clothes" I got all tingly. It was sooo hot!! They are soo great together!! I can't wait for more from this couple! I hope they keep them together for as long as it is possible.
I could not agree more!
Tamara is fantastic. Eden is always the bomb. Stunning the two of them.
And Reese's breathy "Get me out of these clothes" might have been one of the hottest things said on TV that I can remember.
Yes, it's a little tame, but they are SO natural together. I wasn't a viewer of BAM, but I am of BAR, or Reanca, or something more clever than that.
QT Pie's the both of them!
Yeah!
It is great that AMC got Tamara Braun because she is such a talented actress. And having her play opposite Eden is just... amazing!
And Reese's breathy "Get me out of these clothes" might have been one of the hottest things said on TV that I can remember.
Tell me about it!!!! I can't even begin to describe what I felt once she whispered that...it was not just what she said but the way she said it. HOTTTTTT
I have to say that as a BAMmer I was not too thrilled with Reese at first but after seeing them together. Watching how natural they seem, so loving and seeing that amazing chemistry they share....I am already in the Rianca/Rinks/Breese/BAR wagon. She won me over pretty fast (what can I say....I am easy :P)
I agree
I have to say that the "Get me out of these clothes" line certainly made me tingly!
I stopped watching AMC when Riegel left and started again when I heard she and Braun were going to be on. Aside from a couple of awkward hugs that should have been kisses, I've been fairly happy with how they have been portrayed, and I think both actresses are doing a great job. They seem to have real chemistry, which has gotten more palpaple as the storyline has progressed.
I never saw Braun as Carly on "General Hospital" but always heard how good she was on it. I see now from her portrayal of Reese why she was so acclaimed as Carly and am really glad she took this part. I will have to write a note to her with the address provided in the other post to let her know that :)
I agree with others that Zach shouldn't be an obstacle to Reese and Bianca's relationship. I think Reese would see him only as a father figure, not a romantic interest. I think Zach will work to get Reese's father to Pine Valley for the Christening and/or the commitment ceremony. I liked the scene at the end of the episode with Reese and Zach and how Reese didn't cry on Zach's shoulder but rather went back to bed. Well done.
So that's my $0.02. I hope the writers don't disappoint us and that I can continue to enjoy this storyline, since it's the only reason I tuned in again!
-- Kim
I really liked this episode.
I loved seeing Bianca and
Promotion
There was not any heavy promotion about them making love, though. It's not like how ABC promoted the hell out of Lena and Bianca's 2003 kiss. I felt that the little promotion about this sex scene, just letting viewers know that it would be happening very soon (seeing as this is something American soap operas don't see often...though they did not make it about that in promoting this), was fine.
Mmmm
That is a really good point, I hope you're right. Maybe Bianca will encourage Reese to contact her parents..
I Thought It Was Handled Well
Soaps have a reputation for being risque, but they don't actually show anything for the most part. It seems to me that Reese and Bianca are being allowed to go about as far as anyone else is, which I think is great.
As for Reese's "coming out to her parents" storyline, it's pretty timely right now, I would say. Erica may be a little dubious that Reese is good enough for her Bianca, but she is supportive of their relationship and even their marriage. Reese's family, not so much. Sound like anything else going on these days?
I've been watching soaps since I was a kid, and all of the sudden, I'm crying like a baby, ever since Reese came to town.
Soaps are all about fantasy: fantasy jobs, fantasy clothes, fantasy houses, fantasy weddings, fantasy lovers. Ordinarily I mock such things and make fun of the silly heterosexuals and their shenanigans (What? I have no life.), but I totally fell for the manipulation today. I was all, "I want a girlfriend to do all my chores and rub my feet/calves while looking at me adoringly!" And then, "Maybe if I buy some heavily scented soap like the one they are advertising right now, I will get a hot girlfriend who will build me a house and practically beg me to marry her!"
I've really got to get to the grocery store first thing tomorrow...
Hahaha
You really made me laugh with your last sentence.
I agree with you, it was handled well. I think the AMC writers and producers are doing a good job so far. I honestly did not expect any of this to happen given Bianca's history but I am glad they are trying to give her the same 'privileges', if you will, of the straight characters.
Bianca and Reese are so far the only couple in the show who are happy, kissing, touching, etc. which is a change from their previous storylines (regarding Bianca's character).
I am happy with the way their relationship has been playing so far. We all know some drama will come soon but that happens to ALL couples in soaps so it's fine.
Reese
...can't keep her hands off Bianca. I'm not complaining, mind you, just agreeing with you that they are about the happiest couple in Pine Valley right now. Certainly the most frisky.
I'm with Sarah: it's nice to see lesbians on TV being sexually confident and knowing what they want. Coming out stories have inherent drama, but the writers are letting Bianca get past that story (which they've already done with Bianca AND Maggie). Reese is having some drama with her birth family, but she has no doubts about what she wants and no angst about being a normal, healthy adult woman with a girlfriend/fiancee.
I'm a BAM girl, but with Liz Hendrickson apparently happy in Genoa City, I am all in favor of this pairing, and for some much deserved happiness for Binks.
You're right, the drama will come, but that's okay.
That just means there will be make-up smooching.
Well said!
Ohh trust me NOBODY is complaining if anything we only wish she keeps it up hehe. I love the fact that they are so affectionate, just like any couple in love would be.
I am also a BAMmer but I agree Binks deserves some happiness and since Maggie can't be back now, I am happy she has found her happiness with Reese. Besides Reese is awesome!! Tamara is really rocking this role!
Risque
In regards to Reese and Bianca's sex scene, I would not say that they are being allowed to go about as far as anyone else is in the bedroom when it comes to physical intimacy...not compared to what I have seen between some heterosexual couples on soap operas. But they are being treated as fairly as a heterosexual couple for the most part, and they were given a standard sex scene typical of soap operas and prime time.
daytime lesbionics
B's hands
I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed where Bianca's hand was resting and then conveniently moved down. This scene conveniently just ran on soapnet.
I thought TB hit some great notes today with the bedroom scene and with the I miss my family scene. I think today was the first time I've seen them together and it didn't feel forced. Their kisses were so much more natural.
I'm glad Binks is happy but I sure am ready for Dr. Stone to show up in an elevator at the hospital. They keep paging her. Someday she'll answer.
Dr. Stone!
"I'm glad Binks is happy but I sure am ready for Dr. Stone to show up in an elevator at the hospital. They keep paging her. Someday she'll answer."
Laughing my ass off!! Too true!! I cannot take Bianca referring to anyone other than Maggie as the love of her life, unless it's her kids.
I just hope that when Dr. Stone steps off that elevator, it's the original Stone (in other words, no recast).
very cool
Grapefruit Scrub scene!
The Bianca/Lena scene - known in some circles as the "grapefruit scrub scene - was considered very, very risky and risque at the time. What really got folks worked up was a scene before that where it was made clear that Bianca went to Lena's to get laid. Apparently there was all kinds of agnst about putting that on air.
As for the thing with Zach, after today I'm not worried about them hooking up. It's pretty clear that he reminds her of her father who she misses terribly. In the scene toward the end when he finds her crying, in 99.99999% of the time she would have ended up sobbing on his manly shoulder. This time though, she brushed him off and went back to her bedroom - where she belonged.

Thanks for that!
It is interesting to see that the same network that will receive truckloads of 'leaves' will also receive thank you letters from us, the AMC fans. Talk about irony!
Anyway, I for one will show my support! I love this couple and I want ABC and AMC to know that they have fans out there that appreciate what they are doing and hope they will keep their good work.
The head writers Brown &
The head writers Brown & Esensten were fired last spring...the new head writer is Charles Pratt.
Regarding the sex scene, I think that it was pretty good for daytime. I've been really impressed with the way that they've been treating Biance & Reese. I went into this pairing with a pretty open mind (I say "pretty" b/c I would've rather seen it develop onscreen, but I'll take what I can get. I mean, how Awsome would it have been to watch the scene where they meet in the park b/c Mimo accidentally hits Reese with her ball and then of course sweet Bianca feels bad and takes care of her! :-) ) and I have to say that I've really been enjoying it! Being the crazy soap fan that I am (I've watched every soap on a regular basis at one point or another...if you're a soap fan and haven't checked out this blog you should: http://thebiz.fancast.com/deep_soap/ ) I knew that TB was a great actress, but her commitment to the character has really exceeded my expectations! And of course Eden has been amazing...I forgot how much I missed Binx!!! Oh, and I totally melted this past Wednesday when they read the AMC poem and Agnes Nixon (her last big storyline was returning to write the Bianca coming out storyline) said the finally lines!!! My aunt has watched since day #1 and when we talked tonight she couldn't stop talking about how much she loved Bianca & Reese...that made me smile!
Ignore the writers names
Yeah, the new head writer is Charles Pratt Jr. I am sorry I just posted this without checking.I literally copied and pasted it from another blog. Again I apologize. The new head writer is Charles Pratt Jr.

I knew..
about Charles Pratt and about Frons giving him the freedom to write.
Even though I would have also liked to see the beginning of their romance, I am glad they didn't focus on it. Because let's not forget that Eden has only signed for a 4 month contract so it would have sucked to see the beginning of their relationship so that later we would just see them leave together (kinda like what happened with Maggie) to Paris. They would have also been less affectionate because the relationship would just be developing. The way it is now has them in a full relationship which is a nice change because Bianca never really had a stable one.
We are finally going to have a stable lesbian relationship being developed in daytime television, which can only be a good thing.
I agree.
I agree.
And they are getting a ton of screen time. It used to be that Bianca and her storylines had maybe 6 - 8 minutes a week. She's been on 8 of 10 episodes in the past 2 weeks with about 4 minutes a show if my memory serves. And lots and lots of kisses. Though the kisses moving into hugs are starting to get on my nerves. Maybe that is Tamara's nerves, though- she seems to be initiating. Wow.. maybe I am watching this stuff too subjectively (or obsessively)..
Yeah!
She has been getting a lottttttt of screen time which is great!! Cos we only watch for her storyline, don't we? But I think she has been getting more than 4 minutes per episode. I would say about 10, which is about the same screen time as the other storylines.
About the hugs, I think you are watching too much into it. As long as they keep kissing I don't care for the rest haha.
Bianca's screen time
Bianca always used to get a lot of screen time; it's just her romances that did not, at least not the physical aspects of those romances.
After watching..
Yeyyy to serious committed actresses!!!
Bianca's hand
Yeah, the placement of Bianca's hand was mentioned above. LOL.
Don't forget Passions...
There was a scene with two women in bed on daytime tv a few years ago. I know Passions is less loved around here. And certainly none of its characters were developed as well as All My Children and the show isn't done quite as well because Passions was such camp. (But that's really why I loved it!)
A few years ago--summer of 2005, I believe--Simone on Passions came out. She was revealed to be a lesbian when she visited her girlfriend, Rae. At the end of her coming out episode, Rae took off her robe, crawled into bed with Simone, and kissed her for 2.3 seconds. Still, with the (daytime implied) nudity and the kiss, it was clear the two women were going to have sex. There may have been another scene with them lying around in bed afterwards, but I don't remember.
All this was before Simone got a bunch of lesbians from a gay bar in Rome to defeat the evil Alistar and his minions, who were trying to steal the holy grail so he could have its power. God, I miss that show.
Simone and Rae
Yeah, I "heard" that that is the first onscreen lesbian sex scene on an American soap opera. I'm sure that it's the first onscreen same-sex sex scene on an American soap opera as well.
The whole Reese-Bianca thing
Even though they weren't
It's hard to let go of BAM, but...
this helped. A lot.
Great to see Bianca reasonably soap opera happy for a change. And while I am still very much in pretend love with Maggie (Liz....mmmhmmm!), I would gladly help Reese get out of those clothes. Yowza!
Well done, AMC! Now if you can just stop with all the lesbian baby-having and zarfs and rapes, we may be on the road to wellness with ol' Bincs!
