Okay, so I have posted this on the 3WayTV website already but I have never heard anybody say loosey goosey before. Is that used a lot in America, or is that just me being a little out of the loop?

Yep, American Slang. Has a couple of meanings -- in a sexual context, meaning you're loose, you sleep around. And the other context is playing outside of the boundaries, or not playing it so straight or by the rules. Sorry to be such a geek on this stuff, but I'm slang queer and love the orgins of words, too. Gonna plug my friend Tom Dalzell who has authored some amazing slang books and dictionaries. His books are like having a gigantic research team in your office -- a writer's best friend.

Well I can't claim to know the origins of the phrase but I'm from the UK and have definintely heard "loosey goosey" before.

I always took it to mean that you were really laid back and carefree, maybe a little wacky.

What I liked best was when Andrea called Siobhan OCD and a neatnik, when I've been watching Jill be more than slightly OCD about her furniture and so forth on WGN... Heh, heh, heh. :)
